    thanks for your response. I set everything as you stated. This is what is happening as soon as I press the Start button the motor runs even though the pot is set to zero. even in local mode. the running current is above full load and the drive trips. The output is 150% over the rated current,not clear whats up here. Is their a factory reset apart from 9904 changing then changing it back.

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it might be a bad pot, but that shouldn't happen in local mode... The overload could be caused by the motor running at full speed from the start. This is only an assumption based on what you have mentioned. Do you know what the motor is running at when the drive trips?
      Also, I don't know if this is a typo or not, but the factory reset is 9902 and not 9904. Changing the macro to something else and then back to ABB standard will reset all drive parameters with the exception of the motor data. Remember to recheck the motor data in parameter group 99 to ensure it matches with the nameplate data.

    I want the drive to run(start powering the motor) soon after getting itself powered up.
    I thought bypassing the start push button would do. Is it the correct method to follow?

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, you can close the switch so that the motor will start to run when power is applied to the drive. To do this, you will need to keep the drive in remote mode. But the drive will still take a second to power up. I would recommend leaving the drive on and then just using a start switch as if it were an on/off switch.

      This is serious, do not attempt to run the drive. This fault is indicating that you have line power on the motor terminals. Please correct this as soon as possible!

  • @onthemudd1

    Yes the current goes to 6.XXamps this should obviously trip the OL because of its rating I am beginning to suspect the motor will be making a substitution will tell you how this turns out. It was a Typo its 9902 indeed.

    how do i rest an ABB ACS320 drive that is starting but not producing output after resting on earth fault

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok when you say rest, do you mean reset? If so the drive should run after resetting any fault that has cleared the condition that caused it. Make sure the drive has speed reference if in remote control. If in local control, the drive may reset the local reference when faulted unless your model has the speed pot installed in the keypad. If speed reference source is confirmed ok and drive still doesn't respond then the drive itself may have sustained permanent damage and will need repaired or replaced.

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are referring to the display on the Keypad, this message means the drive isn't responding to communication from it. Try a different keypad if you haven't already and the little connector adapter too. Good luck, and please let us know how this works for you, ok?

    I have a challenge on new abb ACS150 Drive I connected all the necessary connection and is not working on remote only on LOC REM work.i follow all instructions.if I change set point of 9902 to 4 only work only one direction very slow movement.what will be the case please I need your help now Thanks

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      With 9902 set to 4, you are set up for the motor potentiometer macro. First make sure you are in remote mode using the REM/LOC button, the display will show REM on the middle of the left side. Using this macro, you need to apply 24VDC to the DI1 terminal to start the drive in a forward direction. To go in a reverse direction apply 24VDC to both the DI1 and DI2 terminals.
      By applying 24VDC to the DI3 terminal the speed will increase until the 24VDC is removed, at that point the drive will stay running at whatever the speed it was at when the 24VDC was removed from DI3. By applying 24VDC to the DI4 terminal, the speed will decrease until the 24VDC is removed, at that point the drive will stay running at whatever the speed it was at when the 24VDC was removed from DI4. The rate at which the speed will increase is controlled by parameter 22.02. The rate at which the speed will decrease is controlled by parameter 22.03.
      Don’t forget to put the jumper wire in between terminals GND and COM like the wiring diagram shows.

    It would be nice to have PID loop control and trouble shooting tutorial. I am installing water pump that must maintain 60 PSI. so I installed three wire pressure traducer with 0-100PSI, 4-20MA. I am not sure what I am making mistake. It is not working in remote control. is it wiring, programming or bad sensor ........................if you can help I appreciate.

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OK Tedros, I would like you to check a couple things, but keep in mind I have to assume you already have the PID Macro loaded ok?
      Make sure the display says "REM" on the left side (this indicates that it is in remote mode), next make sure you have a jumper at terminals 10 and 11, next make sure you have your run enable input closed at DI4 (or terminal 15), if all these check correct, then determine if you are in "HAND" or "PID" control mode with DI2, DI2 off = HAND, DI2 on = PID mode. You have 2 different start inputs, DI1 starts HAND or DI5 starts PID based on the state of DI2, ok?
      Good luck and let us know what happens

    I want to Reset All parameters to company default. means reset the drive to defaults.How can I reset all parameters to its defaults value.?please suggest

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Abb does not have a parameter for defaulting the drive to factory values. So what you have to do is go to parameter 9902 and select "ABB Standard" macro. If the drive is already selected to ABB Standard, then simply change it to another macro and back again. This effectively defaults the drive, however it does not effect the motor parameters those will have to be set to the new motor manually. There are other parameters not defaulted as well, but if using a simple application without Field Bus control, it shouldn't matter, ok?

  • @onthemudd1
    @onthemudd1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have setup an ABB 355 to run remotely Connected a pot and a stay-switch parameter 9902 - 1 ABB STD
    the motor Ratings are 3ph 230 V 1.5 A 60 Hz 0.55 K.W. 1380 R.P.M Store in Parameters 9903, 9905,9906,9907,9909,9908
    the motor is expected to run 0 - 40 RPM the Scalar motor mode is used. PAR 2001 is 0.0 Hz PAR 2002 1,7Hz 1103 - 1 ,I am not sure how to set 1104 and 1105 the manual says 1=0.1Hz should I use 17.0 for 1.7Hz? the motor just races as soon as the pot is turned and i have no control unless I stop the drive then I have to turn the pot to its min that start over and the same thing happens Please Assist

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parameters 2001 and 2002 are intended for vector mode, since you have it in scalar, you should change the parameters in 1104 and 1105. If you want 1.7 hertz then you can set 1105 to 1.7 Hz. This should allow for your pot to reach 1.7 Hertz at 100 percent. (assuming you want 40 RPM as your maximum)
      If you are having trouble controlling the drive with the pot, there are a couple of things to look at. First, is the dip switch by the I/O on the front of the drive. (You can see this on page 53 of the manual). You will want to set AI 1 to the off position to ensure that you are using a 0-10 Volt signal. This assumes the pot is wired to AI 1. The next thing to look at is parameter 0120, which can be accessed even when the drive is stopped. This will display the value of the pot from 0-100 percent. If the pot is wired incorrectly or if it is not in working condition, the value here will show 100%.
      Let me know if this helps.

    The acs355 drive sowing fault code (A5001). That means the drive is not responding.
    So how i solve the fault

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A5001 may be a keypad fault, it does not see the drive. Make sure the keypad is seated in place correctly, if no improvement, try another keypad and the little RJ45 adapter piece. Let us know what happens, ok?

    • @in5n80
      @in5n80 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Across 7 and 8 the drive outputs an analog signal between 0mA to 20mA, which can be connected to a process controller or PLC and display the frequency of the drive output.

    Plz show the importance of connecting earthing to vfd😑

    • @GalcoIndustrial
      @GalcoIndustrial  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's important to connect ground/earth to the VFD and the motor to the VFD ground. Motors produce a lot of EMI into the frame and if not grounded properly it will make the frame of the motor and possibly the VFD as well at high potential to ground. This is a dangerous situation if you come into contact with VFD or motor frame not grounded.
