    Nice saw but used mine with new fully charged batteries and it lasted no were near 45 minutes. I cut 6 x 60cm cuts and was completely dead

    You said you made about 8 cuts following the grain and the 5AH batteries took 45 minutes to charge. You also stated that if you had 4 batteries you could constantly use the chainsaw. Does that mean it took 45 minutes to make the 8 cuts?
    I am a big fan of Makita and have a lot of their tools plus 20 batteries but I also own a basic Husqvarna petrol chainsaw which fly's through cherry and hardwood. If you were cutting logs all day you would need petrol. As for cutting the odd log here and there and a bit of shaping the silence alone is definitely worth it.
