- In this video we test out the 14" Makita 36V chainsaw on the farm. Does the battery power cut it, compared with petrol. We compare the advertised number of cuts with an infield comparison. Chest out the results!!

Definitely need to either sharpen or replace the chain. If you are interested, Guilty or Treeson did a long video with a wonderful guy named Jed explaining a few ways to sharpen chains.
Good lord! You need to sharpen that chain! I suggest you pick up a 4.0mm Sthil 2 in 1 sharpener and a stump vice.
Wow that’s probably the dullest chain I’ve seen in a while!
The smoke is a giveaway, good test tho and it’s the one I bought for touring also
That chain isn't dodgy, it's junk. Either do a good sharpen or replace it.
A Chainsaw is designed to pull small chips of wood, not Wood Dust....
Just the video I needed, thanks.
Cheers Warren. It's held up so far.
@ 4:58. "35 cuts, as opposed to the 52 as advertised". The diameter of sections isn't mentioned in either case, so as a matter of interest:
The total cut area of 35 x 8" diameter pieces is about the same as 52 x 6.6"
The total cut area of 35 x 7" diameter pieces is about the same as 52 x 5.75"
So, the Makita ad may not be exaggerating.
The chain is blunt something's not right
Chain is very dull hard on the saw .
Dont forget batteries need too be drained and charged 15 times before you get full performance out of new batteries
Have the same saw and would cut through that size timber in a fraction of the time. Your problem is the blade is very blunt shortening your battery life and straining the motor.
👍👍👍🙏🙏
Beautifu bushl country. Where is that?
It's a great place. Family property in vic
It's a toy use gas saw
The standard makita chains are junk
