You are probably right. The reason is because in my other videos when I use the sE Electronics DCM8 I do some post processing by adding some gain to get the volume up to around zero dB. I didn't do it with this video because I wanted to show what the microphone sounded like right out of the box. If I would have played with the gain on my preamp a little more I am sure I could have got it to sound like my other videos. I hope that helped.
The SE electronics dcm-8 / dynacaster has a built-in three layer pop filter and a built-in shock mount. It also comes with a foam pop filter to go over it if you really need it. I do have an extender for it because of the way the XLR Port is on the microphone. I got the extender on Amazon for about $8. I hope that answers your questions.
Oh not a problem. For the SE electrons V7 I used a sm58 shock mount, but it will work for any handheld microphone. The pop filter I used was one made for the Shure SM7b, but it is a really good small metal pop filter that works great with a small microphone. It is awesome for videos because it does not cover your whole face when you are on camera. Links to both are below.
