Fifine M9 Wirelss Lavalier Mic System
The Fifine M9 is a great affordable option for people wanting to take advantage of a wireless system setup for their videos. After putting the Fifine M9 head to head with the Rode wireless GO ii I can say these are pros and cons.
PROS- The Fifine M9 cost is much less than the Rode wireless GO ii. In addition, the M9 comes with many more accessories than the wireless GO ii. The M9 microphones weight is less than the wireless GO ii and is all around Smaller. Lastly, the EQ turning of the M9 microphones sound better on cell phone speakers and consumer headphones than the Wireless GO ii.
CONS- The Fifine M9 has a more noticeable self noise than that for the Rode wireless GO ii. The M9 bit depth is only 16 bit vs 24 bit for the wireless GO ii. The EQ for the M9 is very colored vs the wireless GO ii which is more flat and easy to edit in post processing. The M9 microphones does not have a 3.5mm jack to hook up a wired lavalier microphone. Lastly, the latency is 27.6ms vs the wireless GO ii is very low at 6ms.

Final thoughts- if you are just getting in making videos and like recording for fun this is where you need to start. The Fifine M9 is a very usable wireless system that can work in a large amount of applications and is 100 times better than any microphone built into your phone. If you are more into editing videos or have invested a lot of time and money into your filming equipment I would probably go for the Rode wireless GO ii. They are both good systems for different people.
I hope this video helped and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!!

      Are you asking about the analog to digital converter box? I would suggest to use a focusrite Scarlett solo gen 3. It's a cheap and reliable audio interface that you can get used for under $100. It is really great because it can do a sample rate 192hz and a bit of depth of 24 bit, which is studio grade quality.

      Yeah mine kind of does the same thing. I think it depends on where you're looking at the microphone. If you look at it from the back then it seems like the volume knob is backwards but if you're looking at from the front then it makes sense. I wish they would have just had numbers to indicate the volume.

    Great review. I really appreciate it. I already have one that I want to start using for voice over work and it is definitely a hot mic that seems to pick up every little noise. Can you tell me if it is best to have the High Pass Filter on or off for voice over work and which position of the switch is on or off. Great musical skills too. Love the guitar playing. Thank you :)

    • @unumludum
      @unumludum 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very hot mic. You definitely need some treatment in your recording space because of that output and the full capsule this microphone has. To answer your first question... it depends. If you like your voice to sound lower and more bloomy when you talk closer to the mic then keep the high pass filter off. This effect of making your voice more lower and deep sounding when you get close to the mic is called a proximity effect. If you want your voice to sound more natural sounding when you get up close to mic keep the high pass filter on. To answer your second question the high pass filter is off when the switch is to the right and switch to the left turns it on. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @unumludum
      @unumludum 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You would need a focusrite 2i2 with a DBX 286s. The reason is because you need one input for your mic you're speaking into and a second input for the mic that is used for your guitar amp. The DBX 286s works very well for voice but if you want to use it on a guitar amp you need to run it after the mic you are recording the amp with. Do not run it in a pedal chain. The reason is because those are unbalanced lines and the DBX 286s uses balance inputs and outputs. If you try to plug it into your amp directly it may break the 286s. Hope that helps.

      You are probably right. The reason is because in my other videos when I use the sE Electronics DCM8 I do some post processing by adding some gain to get the volume up to around zero dB. I didn't do it with this video because I wanted to show what the microphone sounded like right out of the box. If I would have played with the gain on my preamp a little more I am sure I could have got it to sound like my other videos. I hope that helped.

    Fix for real-time monitoring on the AM6: 1. Plug the headphones to the 3.5mm jack 2. Click "playback" tab from the Sound Panel, Select "fifine Chat" or "fifine Game" as the default output device, you can monitor your voice mixed with the PC audio. You could also go to Page 13 of the Instruction.

    Being a dynamic mic, it is not made to pick up sound at any distance. It is the kind of mic singers use so that it doesn't pick up the noises on stage made by the band, and that's why they get right up on the mic. So when you use it you are expected to get right up on the mic, as opposed to a condenser mic. What it came with is a mounting bracket, not a shock mount. A shock mount has some type of soft insulation, sometimes flexible, in order to deaden the transfer of sound vibrations from the mic stand or arm to the microphone. I hope that clarifies some things for you.

    • @unumludum
      @unumludum 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is correct! Dynamic microphones are definitely designed way different than condensers. They're two different types of technology to record audio. Dynamic microphones use a magnetic field to generate electrical signal and condensers use a capacitor with two metal plate covers. Dynamic microphones usually are better to be talked into up close between 4 to 6 inches, but there are some people that do use them up to 6 feet in order to catch ambience as well as organic reverb in the room/recording space. I don't know why they wouldn't just use a condenser because they're a little more sensitive and better suited for that, but to each their own. Lastly, thanks for correcting me. That is correct it is a mounting bracket not a shock mount. I actually made that mistake because my sE Electronics DCM8 has a mounting bracket as well, but it also has an internal shock mount, so I always would just call it a shock mount. I did however explore more in-depth to see if the Tank 3 has an internal shock mount and I was not able to find any information on the internet which leaves me to believe it doesn't so it would just be a bracket. Thanks for the feedback!

I was recorded in real time with OBS with no postprocessing, so unless the encoding was corrupted I don't know why it would be out of sync. The only other thing I can think of is if you are watching the video on Bluetooth headphones there is latency that happens sometimes which doesn't sync correctly with videos. This is the shock mount I got, and I will link the pop filter as will because it is hard to find a small pop filter. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DXHRSC7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PYLV2VJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    The point of these mics is that for 1/1,000th the price, you can get a decent mic. Most people listening to a TH-cam video are not audio engineers who would care about or even notice the mic quality.

      You have a good point about most people not really caring about the audio quality being a studio level recording. There are however quite a few select individuals that see the name U87 and think they're going to get a $3,000 quality microphone for $30. My hope is that they'll watch this video and get a better idea of what they're exactly purchasing.

      @@unumludum @unumludum And that's completely reasonable. People need to know not to expect miracles. :-D People also need to know that a $3,000 mic or a $30,000 mic will sound like garbage if used the wrong way. And no one mic will suite everyone's voice. The SM7B isn't a good fit for me because my voice is 90% muddy. A mic that "warms" my voice is terrible.

      Yeah it was much worse sounding after I watched my video after uploading it. They probably should have called it the Temu phone mic

    I'd guess it's got the same guts as typical NW700/BM800 type mics, with a little electret mic capsule rather than a true condenser capsule with high voltage power supply. Those come with that same rubbish connecting cable.

    • @unumludum
      @unumludum 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're probably right on that. I did some research and a lot of people are saying that is a medium-sized condenser capsule but looks weird because it has a lot of black plastic around it.

    Is it digital pre amp tube power amp? I'm considering this amp for $300 because all my amps now might be considered classic rock amps I think, and this one I picture more modern. I don't currently have a speaker cab. I have a hotrod deluxe 3, orange rocker 32, blackstar ht5r, original yamaha thr10, line 6 bogner dt50 212 line 6 hd500x. Or do you think it would be just duplicating the yamaha or line 6? I don't have $300 to throw around like it is nothing

      It is hybrid tube+solid state equalisation preamp on both chanel. Same as Marshall jcm-1.

      that is so cool that you know that! I couldn't find that info anywhere. Just got it and I'm really happy with it. I'm a little surprised how loud 1 watt is... but if I need it quieter there's always the xlr out and I can listen thru monitors or headphones. This H&K does the EVH sound better than anything else I have, by far. I'm using the Line 6 212 speakers (vintage 30 and Celestion G12H90) for the moment. I'll need to close mic each to hear if one is sounding better than other. I have an extra Vintage 30 still in the box and was considering building an oversized birch cab for it. Anybody know where to find a good guide for dimensions/instructions on guitar cabinet making? @@Perearst3

      Yes, it's a hybrid but sounds pretty good in my opinion. I have a Marshall JCM 2000 100 watt head that I used to play live with. If you put a tube screamer in front of the Hughes & Kettner you can get the same modern mid sound the Marshall JCM 2000 is known for. This is also somewhat the downside of the Hughes & Kettner. If you're not using an overdrive pedal I feel the distortion on the high-gain setting does sound a little heavy in the low frequencies and really cuts a lot of mids. I feel it would be a little hard to stick out in a mix if you are not using an overdrive pedal, but other than that it is my favorite amp.
