Now you understand why the F150 is the best selling truck. It's a daily driver, it's off roader, it's as fast as a sports car, you can load lots of nails at Home depot, you can tow a travel trailer or 5th wheel. It's like having 5 cars in 1 package. I love my F150 3.5L ecoboost.

YESSS!!! I've been a Ford truck guy for 20 years now, so I'm happy right now. I think I may have found my dream truck...especially when you got some serious air! And I would squeeze you anytime and anyplace!
You have to keep it in 4A on Baja. The Raptor has a specifically designed AWD system that can operate at high speeds. Plus, in sand, you don't want to switch into 4wd after you get stuck. This is an amazing truck!

Funny thing is, a friend of mine just got one (same color, same features, same year). He said "the day this thing see any off-road will be the day it's in the hands of the second owner". To be honest, for $80k I can't blame him at all

Sarah, those wheels on the 19 Raptor are real bead locks , as long as you have them mounted that way and you have the optional locking rims!
Love my 2020 Raptor it's seriously awesome! It is super comfortable on pavement. Nice that you don't have to think twice about jumping in the dirt.

Great scoring. When Sarah exclaims "Oh My God" during the test and takes a deep breath and croaks out OK at the end of the test, I expect at least four out of five Beans, Meatballs, Stars, or whatever.

Those are real bead lock-able wheels, they are forged too. you do you have buy a bead lock kit but there are not many states that bead locks are street legal.

Just bought a 2019 Silverado Trail Boss. It's a joke compared to the Raptor - it's a suspension lift, meatier tires, and stickers. That's it. But then again, my Trail Boss is exactly half the cost too. Really wishing I had a Raptor now though. Great review.
I was going back and forth between the Raptor and a Jeep Wrangler. I ended up going with the Wrangler because the trails I like are more crawling and less Baja style and with the wide body of the Raptor, just wasn't going to work without destroying body panels. Hopefully you get to review the Ranger Raptor to see how that compares. You should take the 2018 up to Box Canyon in Florence and see how it does in that environment, would be very interested to see since all I see there are Jeeps and Tacos.
My favourite Sarah, regardless of location. Would definitely squeeze you big time. The Raptor’s a big strong motor & with 500+ lb ft I’m not surprised it scored 4 meatballs. And the comfort & luxury seem on point. Fox shocks are amazing and will be both smooth & comfy on road and massively capable off road. Really dig your style.

fyi the wheels are beadlock capable, you just order the optional rings and have the tire remounted with the outside edge of the tire on the outside of the rim edge and bolt the ring on.

The Raptor is something I've always wanted but never looked into how much they cost. So, let's say it's out of my pay-grade. I'm sad. But at least you got a chance to have some great fun with it! I did ask the Ford dealership about the Ranger Raptor. It's not going to happen as long as the F150 Raptor is making them money.
It's a shame that there are a TON of Raptors where I live... and none of them have battle scars.

Ravishing in a raptor 4 meatballs that’s a lot of meatballs but if you say so 4 meatballs it is hands-down most comfortable seats in a truck. Some of the most comfortable seats i’ve sat in car or truck and that 10 Speed Trans Way better than I would’ve thought as usual you are spot on thanks for this one probably was a little bit of a bear to shoot looks great thanks john

Great camera work on this one, some of the shots of the '18 made me think of the old TopGear adventures panning over to the Stig waiting to pounce.
And not that you have any control over it, but I take issue with one of the ads I saw, telling me that their shop can replace my cabin air filter(for a low low price) to improve my fuel mileage.

Fun Fact: 08-09 when I was a new A1C I was driving the Nellis-Creech shuttle and everyday at the same time I saw two masked trucks going out to the desert for a month or so, then the raptor was released shortly after.

4wd on a 4x4 is actual a safety feature and really you should use it on any loose surface. It makes the vehicle easier to control and safer at speed. Go look up anyone that does overlanding trips or drives on dirt roads and they will tell you the same.

It's a little bit sad because it doesn't have a V8 than The 2013 Ford F150 Raptor. And It has smaller engine than 2012 Chrysler Grand Voyager.

Future project idea: build your own raptor-inspired truck. Find a F150, put in some nice shocks, a built engine, do some work on it, and then give it the beans. I think you could come up with something pretty close, if not better, for a lot less.

Off pavement 4x4 is fine to use at all times. That’s why it’s the default setting for Baja mode.
In fact its good idea when driving hard in the dirt. It can help get you out of understeer, by powering through a corner.
That squeeze thing is the trailer breaks.
i've developed a sudden obsession with jumping my 4x4.
It's not very fun if your suspension is not designed for it. Even a tiny bit of air makes for a HARSH landing.

The satisfying to squeeze lever is actually for the manual actuation of the trailer brakes.
Simulated bead locks suck. That trailer control is to adjust the trailer brakes. Glad to see that you did not go out alone in the wilderness :) Great vid, Great review. I would store my pet penguins in the center console :)
They are fully beadlock ready wheels that have to come from the factory with bolt on "beauty rings". Ford can't sell them with true beadlocks and be street legal. However they make a Ford Performance product that is a true beadlock ring to replace the stock ring for "offroad use only" *wink*. It was a decent compromise to essentially get factory beadlocks.

Hehehe it’s surprisingly quick because those turboes pull In a lot of air which sucks me back into my seat so that’s why the turboes add some extra shove

The beadlocks are functional, but aren't setup that way from the factory.
Yeah came here to say that. Beadlock capable wheels, unlike all those simulated beadlocks out there. Just buy the rings and set it up.

Great review makes me miss my Raptor back home in Texas. One thing, those wheels are not simulated beadlocks. They are actually beadlock capable just that they can’t sell them with the beadlocks installed because that’s not street legal.

Those aren't fake beadlocks, if you pull off the covers, the truck comes with the beadlock plates as well.
Best truck on the market; nothing else is even close.
Modern school buses drive exactly like any other car or truck that you may drive. Their size and dealing with all that that entails are the main difference. I found that braking and accelerating as well as steering was very similar and not intimidating..
I'm not really here for the jumps. I'm here for the lol's and you did not disappoint. I want to squeeze a family of penguins.
