    If you're interested in offsetting some of your own personal emissions and rewilding parts of the Scottish Highlands with native trees then please feel free to plant some trees in my grove! 🌲🌲🌲

    This is really cool. I've been wanting to trace the family roots, but I'm not real big on the touristy kind of thing. As an avid cyclist (more of a roadie but I do like to dabble in MTBing), this looks like a perfect way to explore Scotland. It reminds me a lot of where I live, North Carolina.

  • @flippy66
    @flippy66 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    East Point isn't on Trailforks as a bike trail, and it's marked as "access route", which seems to be used by people walking. Comrie Croft is fantastic, I wish they would do a bit more development, the blue could be an amazing beginner jump trail with some work. It's such a good trail centre though, it feels more like an enduro trail network, as the red/black trails have a really natural feel and are appropriately graded.

    Always the excuse for so few flowy, jumpy groomed trails in Scotland. ie. The investment: "such great natural trails" a part of mtbing Scotland has grasped well, but has few bike parks like England and Wales have, catering for all kinds of mountain biking with graded jump/flow lines . Glentress was a good start, Glenlivet make an effort and of course fort bill as they should. Everything else i see in Scotland is Endurocentric with the emphasis on speed down technical trails rather than the easier going fun elements being considered much.

    • @ScottyLaughland
      @ScottyLaughland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think we’ll slowly see things start to shift with the growth in popularity and the demand for ‘flow’ trails. There’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes but for now we’ve got to enjoy the community aspect of the MTB trails on offer and enjoy what is generally voluntarily created and a labour of love of those who have put in the graft. I for one am not complaining, I think we’ve got some of the best natural trails in the world right here in Scotland!

    • @Spookrider100
      @Spookrider100 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScottyLaughland have to agree, the natural trails here are top level. Though lets hope the investments get moving, have seen there is lots of local trail building in eg. Aberdeenshire, with plans for a trail center there too, possible chairlift?! Getting impatient for cruisy free flow fun and less arm pump🤣
