If they gave him a bulkier chest I think he’d be really good. His alt mode is so cool and Leadfoot has a fun design in robot mode, the chest just kills it for me.
Glad to see another Human Alliance fan. I understand it's not too everyone's taste but I love the line so much it lead me to the Alternators line which is the same scale. It's also why I am on the constant look out for 1/24th scale human figures and 3rd party oversized transformers at that scale.
The Human Alliance concept (Vehicles with interiors) is how I imagine the perfect MPM series to be.

@Iamthebestprime I see your point. But I'm thinking of a better integrated approach, Mp-45 seems to be more of a holdup halfway through design and "We should add this"
I feel the concept would work significantly better if it was integrated from the ground up, requiring the designers to fully implement it into the transformation rather than being half baked.
@@wingdagger7612 fair but counter point mp-44 the opening doors were definitely in the design from the beginning but it still ended with becoming the hunchback of cybertron
@Iamthebestprime You're correct. I guess what my point is, something similar to Alternators and Human Alliance but significantly more complicated in their design. The extra complexity allowing the figures to clean up better in Robot Mode. It doesn't specifically have to be MP/M as I could see the price skyrocket towards Mp44s retail price.

Fun fact: despite being branded as a Nascar Sprint Cup Series race car, this actually uses the Nationwide/Xfinity series body style as the front end has a larger grill and Impala decal.

Ironically I feel like this would have worked better had they kept his alt mode weaponized. Would have added more bulk to it that could have cleaned up the bot mode better.

The fact that you called it a NASCAR Stock Car and not just a NASCAR was so satisfying as a huge fan of the series
He is an autobot that turns into a nascar that literally has the target logo on the hood like how are you supposed to call it that

This looks soo weird, but if think of it as a transforming Mecha version of leadfoot it kinda works especially with that HA figure on his belly lol
you can fiddle with it to have the doors make a coherent chest that looks way better, but it's still a weird thing
Yeah, rather than sticking straight out to the sides, they can be angled up to sort of fill in the gap of his chest a bit and cover his shoulders a little. Still looks like warm cack.
i think he is the reason why human alliance was canned bad selling horrible appeal from few managers declaring it a perfect idea also a tried representation concept art
I lived this thing as a kid. Though it sucked when the shitty translucent plastic backpack broke years later. I still love the toy.
@ 5:47, we found a way to drop the net sections on the doors, and swivel them up, They end up between the gut and the bot frame, and kinda form a "V" when looked at from the front. You should try it, it looks WAY better. Also, the "PeePee" Part, We found that it tabbed in a different way too. It seems there was way more engineering put into this guy, and the directions did it all wrong. I really like this guy after the doors get in the right spot. Get him to look like you got him at 5:47. them try to get the doors up. It hinders front arm articulation, but looks WAY better and he still has his elbow.
nice kinda thing about this is you can with some fiddling make his gut and torso look alot more accurate

I feel bad that this Leadfoot is facing this much criticism.
I really think your complaints are valid with this. The nostalgia for this toy, specifically as a retail release, is a sort of Stockholm Syndrome situation. Everyone, Really wanted the deluxe release via Target when the movie came out. When we all learned it wasn't going to make it stateside and the TT deluxe release was the only option, you were faced with 2 choices. Try to find the TT deluxe at an online retailer that hadn't been either drained of stock or doubled in price. Or get the HA release that was overflowing at Target and either continue in HA scale for the other 2, if not more, or let it be your sole HA toy for character completion of DOTM. It was a tough call but one that had to be made at he time. Saying that, Steeljaw is a great add on figure that never appeared on screen but definitely added to the value of the HA figure overall .

Something I noticed when I was younger during tf3 all 3 subwaves never had a complete wreckers crew with one being weaponless.

You had Leadfoot, topspin but no Roadbuster.
Deluxe
You had Topspin, no weapons Roadbuster and no Leadfoot.
Human alliance
you had Roadbuster, weaponless Leadfoot and no topsin.
Obviously later on we got a cyberverse Roadbuster and deluxe Leadfoot

Just watching this review, I remember why I don’t collect movie figures. The transformations are just so unpleasant. You untab all these little panels, and origami everything together until it vaguely looks like a robot. I always feel like I’m gonna break them when I transform them. They never feel as sturdy as figures from other series.

I think if tou watch optibotimus's old review of this figure..he did manage to transform it in an alternate way and it made it a while lot better..I highly recommend that video
Agree on a lot of it, like most of the engineering is nice but got done in really awkward ways that don't really work a lot. That waist connection peg going through the slider gap and how the doors are set in the instructions are some the bad parts. You aren't missing much without stealjaw, he's fun enough as the dog but his 'weapon' mode is just laughable and the leash is way too short. Also as one who got the non target logo one he's actually still heavily painted even without them, just in car paint rather than logo decals

My dude, the main selling point was the human integration, which it does. You buy this to be your main Leadfoot and you're in for a bad time.
Would love to see a new Human Alliance line but I would probably faint at the modern Hasbro pricing. I'm thinking at least 80 each?
Best part is that it's a nationwide series car when it should be a gen 5 cup series car

Friend of mine had this and it broke eventually. Every time I missed with it I could never figure out how to get it into proper robot mode. I could wrap my head around Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe more than this thing
WAIT…thats supposed to be a beer belly??? I thought his chest was wrecked in a battle or something giving his robot mode a weird looking torso…
It’s annoying that the roadbuster was the weaponized car like the movie but this one was left plain! Either do them all as clean cars or the movie accurate weaponize
I got this and Roadbuster in the hopes of having a Wreckers group, but Topspin never got a Human Alliance toy. So I decided to switch to Deluxes, and it was basically impossible to find Leadfoot due to being exclusive to a store that never had them in stock. So I just said "screw it" to the whole thing. As much as I liked them in the movie, I don't really like ANY of their designs or toys.
That, plus the stupidly complex and fiddly transformation, made me actually appreciate Alternators. Those could be a pain as well, but the one that I still have (Jaguar Ravage) looks sooooo nice in both modes compared to any large-scale Human Alliance figure.
All that said, I still like the Human Alliace Basic Class figures. Especially Thunderhead, who transforms into either the same type of tank as Cybertron Scrapmetal or an Exo-Squad E-Frame.
even though this isn't a positive review on the figure, i still rlly want it lol. it looks goofy but thats what makes it stand out. plus i actually really like the inconsistent plastic coloring. reminds me of that banana almond drink from trader joes. the car mode also looks super cool

I've had HA Leadfoot since it came out and is one of the only movie figures I still have. It's remained in Vehicle Mode ever since because the transformation is asssssssss. Plus the Vehicle Mode is fire.

This is awful. But it has been the only Leadfoot available at a decent price for years. But there are a few easy mods to make it look better.

That's probably got to be one of the best vehicle modes ever, but at the end of the day, it's a live action figure. I havne't seen a single one of those that actually feel nice to transform.

This figure is an overcomplicated mess and the proportions are terrible. I think the sheer amount of features and gimmicks and parts count made me love even the crappy HA figures back in the day but I wouldn't want to own any of them again, especially since we have MPMs now. The wreckers especially got screwed in 2011, since we didn't get a full set of consistent figures, and leadfoot (both HA and the deluxe) was extra hard to find.
Still somehow better than the modern version of human alliance. (GI Joe crossover figures)

The DOTM Wreckers were always weird toy wise, at least until the Studio Series versions. Human Alliance didn't even get all three and only one of them had the fully weaponized look. The Deluxes *did* get all three but Roadbuster was the odd one out in not having the weapons. And then Cyberverse (not that one) had the same issue but with Topspin.

I wonder who let this release with those proportions. Leadfoot is short, fat, and funny enough kicks his gut when he walks. I think it could look better if it wasn't so lanky.
