I really hope that you'll make a video about Cthulu's twin brother Ktanid. He is a really underated and interesting character in the Lovecraftian mythos.
Say, the cult and Cthulhu are all the main villains in Terraria. It even said it in its lore page. And there's a lot fo lore to go around. Not only can you fight the old one's army, spawn of cthulhu, the cults twisted mechinal monsters, but also the leader of the cult and fight Cthulhu to free all of Terraria. Terraria is a game, and it seems that the developers made sure to do their research.
To be honest, the more I thinka bout, it makes sense. I dunno myself if its true or not, but its very possible that the developers of Terraria have been influenced by H.P. Lovecraft's work. If so, then that means Lovecraft work has not only dominated and earned its place in litracr but also the world of video games. Carrying his inspiration and work to many others that may inspire them to create their own unique Terror's. (I know I commented a lot on this particular video, and I first hear H.P. Craft from Scooby doo mystery incorpated H.P. Hatecraft, just wanted to point that out for all H.P. Lovecraft's fans.)
I mean, there’s an entire genre of games categorized as “Lovecraftian”. Although I think the Lovecraft mythos is really misunderstood as it’s a mix of devs who just think “throw a tentacle monster in there and call it a day”. But I would certainly say Bloodborne really got it right when it came to the horror of these beings.
One of my favorite things about the CM is that Elder gods like Cthulhu actually dwell on earth. He doesn't dwell on Pluto or another far off planet, as if he were a looming force in the galaxy, he's actually HERE already. Humans being unfortunate enough to have evolved on this same planet. Earth goes from being mundane to having universal importance.
Gotta admit when you had Batman the doom that came to gotham not only did it pay respect to Lovecrafts work but also reminding the fans that there more than monsters hiding under are bed
Can u do a comic style of lovecraft stories? And their locations!! Surprisingly many videos about the locations. Arkham has a lot of lore and all that comes up is Batman
Correction:46 Cthulhu and his Star Spawn chose the land and were at war with another alien race called the Elder Things who had dwellings in the oceans. Eventually Cthulhu cities sank into the water after war and geography change.
They call him the kraken, Typhon, Leviathan. A dozen other names in a dozen other religions. Always, he is there. The one who mankind wouldn't forget, no matter how many slaves wished to forget their master.
*Shoggoths* "It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway train-a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and un-forming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us, crushing the frantic penguins and slithering over the glistening floor that it and its kind had swept so evilly free of all litter."
Cthulhu is far from omnipotent. Compared to human? Sure. But there are being in the mythos who FAAAARRRR surpass Cthulhu in power. And we all know, there can only be one omnipotence. Azathoth is the only one who is.
Olso, No! That is a misconception that this creatures are making people insane. Only the weakminded are getting insane. Olso he isnt in the city. He is in othe r dimension. The city is just a gate for him.
Well, the Cthulhu Mythos belongs to the genre of mythopoeia, or artificial myth - a mythology that is relatively recent in its inception and made up by known authors.
