      It is literally stupefying how much quality music he comes up with on a DAILY basis... And did you see the video on how he does the drums? He programs them on the Piano Roll... EVERY DAY at least two videos with music and drums that sound right for the track, plus the playing and improv... Seriously inspiring without being daunting somehow. Makes you want to play and do it yourself rather than quit in frustration LOL.

    Just got my hand on one of these. Had a HX Stomp in the past but this surpasses it in my view in almost very way. The foot switching and scenes are really the biggest issues. They are limited but I feel they could be fixed. This is where the Stomp comes out on top.
    But the routing options and quality of the effects and amps is really top drawer.

    It's very satisfying when the Computer Editor Interface is in harmony with how the User logically thinks about the Components and Parameters. It also makes remembering what you did, and how changes in the settings give you the resulting tone. The graphic representation of the Amps, Pedals, Speakers, Mics, Knobs, etc. looks like it makes navigating the Parameters much easier and faster. I wish the Line 6 Editor looked more like this. The Fractal Editor, though more graphical, looks overwhelming to me. The HotOne look like they've found a happy medium between the two.
    I like having the information about the different pieces of gear right at your fingertips, and should be a big timesaver for Users who are unfamiliar with some of the items being modelled. The sounds right out of the box are good and usable, but there is much more distracting background noise than I've heard on any of the other Modelers you've demoed. Maybe a Noise Gate needs to be engaged. How many blocks can be run simultaneously, and can they be in any order?
    The constant "disconnecting" from the Unit and "reloading" is obviously something that needs to be addressed.
    Thanks

    I thought the original Ampero had way better Fender cleans and spring reverb than most of the other hardware modellers (Boss, Helix, Headrush, Axe), and this sounds even better. Great playing and overview. Thanks.

    Could you explore a bit the pre amp/power amp function of the ampero? It’s quite rare as a feature, as far as I know at least. But it could be a really could option to build a custom amp with a Roland JC preamp and let’s say a JTM45 power amp (something that line6 used to do back then…). Thanks mate

    Sorry to see that you're having disconnection issues with the software. That's one thing I REALLY want them to work on. The software. It has so much potential and with a few refinements it could be one of the top small-footprint modellers. The footswitching functions should be completely copied from the Helix products, it's so versatile so why not just do the same thing when it's so much better? (maybe software IP legal issues?). Another major section they need to work on is DSP optimisation and latency improvements. Leo Gibson recently did a test and found the Ampero 2's cab sim generates 10ms of latency compared to the IR block which generates 5ms of latency. So optimisation is clearly needed.
    You're videos are going to help make the Ampero 2 a better modeller because it's in dire need of publicity. Seriously, thank you.

    • @picksalot1
      @picksalot1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, the Latency is a big concern. I also saw Leo Gibson Latency Comparison of 23 Modelers, and the HoTone's did not perform well. That's something they have to fix.

    • @alvarg
      @alvarg ปีที่แล้ว +2

      10ms aint too bad though all things considering how much cheaper this is, and yeah its got drawbacks but if people keep buying them, they can keep improving them.

    • @chaz__
      @chaz__ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alvarg Recent firmware improved the latency by a decent margin. I agree with you though. It doesn't need that much doing to it, just a bit of polish and it will be a really good option for a lot of people.

    I bought one of these and it was my first real foray into the multi-effects/amp modelling combo world. I've used a Positive Grid BIAS Head which was great but not as convenient as an all-in-one package like this. I'm hard pressed to see what else I could want apart from more processing power, and maybe the ability to save Loops. It was dead simple to dial in great guitar and bass tones, and as you point out, the software editor is first rate (the touchscreen is no slouch either). Considering the price, Hotone have knocked it out of the park.

I have an MG-30 and I'm surprised how different things sound in headphones vs live through the pa in terms of volume. The vol meters seem to lag a bit though. Still I'd love that in the MG-30. Any one other clues on getting consistent volume across presents?

    ampero 2 stage is going to take over the game if they manage to step up the marketing. sounds the best to my ear of all the modeling pedals @ the stage can record at up to 192 khz which should basically eliminate aliasing and reduce latency. might be the first pedal i buy if it can deliver the goods!

I usually export my mix/masters at 192khz

    I've had one of these for a few weeks and continue to be impressed with the sounds and interface, including the software editor.
    I have really only 1 wish for it, and 1 gripe.
    The wish - that the footswitches could do something like the Kemper morph, where the same blocks are on but move to different settings. Example in the same patch the amp gain would smoothly change between 2 values. At the same time a drive pedal could also move to different settings, etc.. It would more or less work like "scenes" I guess. If there's a way to do this already I haven't found it.
    The gripe - the software editor has to completely reload if we press any footswitch while the editor is open, including Tap Tempo or long pressing 1 to bring up the tuner. What's worse is we have to manually close a window before the refresh even happens. This really needs to be fixed.
    I also can't use it as an aggregate device since everything else in my studio runs at 48k for my day job, and the Ampero is 44.1 only. So I miss out on some of the IO options like re-amping and using it to record a DI. But I have other ways of doing that from interfacing with other gear so just using it's analog outs.
    That sounds like a lot of griping, but the truth is I'm having a lot of fun with this unit and am using it more than the Kemper these days. I'm really happy I picked it up.
