The ultimate fast Audi? | New Audi RS3 road review

  • The newest Audi RS3 has 400PS, 500Nm and is capable of hitting 62mph in just 3.8 seconds - all numbers that supercars could only just hit in the last decade. But it's also loaded with tech and costs more than £50,000 - the one we drove was over £60k! - which begs the question of whether it can be a hot hatch at all, and if you can still have fun in such a missile.

5:41 Tbh this video is a joke. Carbon Ceramics as Standard? No they are an extra. You're showing off the steel brakes here. Alot of other infos are just wrong

Audi RS3 does not have the drama of any super car …… which suits me fine. I bought a new base RS3 for £51K which is roughly what a great little understated car is worth

Audi RS models DO NOT automatically shift while in manual mode. So I think as an automotive journalist, you should have known that. Or was that purposeful misinformation.

Awful review regarding the torque differential, this car is an absolute beast 👊

Shame that Audi refused to let VW use their 5 pot TFSI in the Golf R, they say the request was denied as the R would have been lighter, quicker and cheaper. Can't have VW stepping on our toes....

There's people out there that have put The 5 Cylinder engine in a Golf R

Carbon brakes aren't standard, it's part of the dynamic pack that ups the top speed and gives you ceramics. It was 5k when I specced mine last Nov, no doubt more now.

    Carbon brakes standard err really?
    50k err really please share?
Nice tech but interior dark and drab for a 60k hot hatchback

    Funny! 13.3 seconds for 0-120?
That’s slow compared to any Ferrari 😂
Even than Audi has 4 wheel drive!

This guy doesn’t have a clue! You can’t get this anywhere for 50k…. So why even mention it?? That’s like talking about the new GT3 RS costing 170k when we all know they’ll be about 250k for years.

  • @David-xc4us

    Wouldn’t pay £50k for that….wish Subaru would build us a £50k Impreza….I’d buy that

Since Audi isn’t able to build engines that last, might aswell buy an f430.

I will never understand why people say yeah this 2022 car is faster than a F430. Like yeah bro the newest performance car on the market has more power/faster than a nearly 20 year old car, big deal.

  • @mutantryeff
    @mutantryeff ปีที่แล้ว +2

Improper used of the word 'faster'. The proper term in this instance would be 'quicker'. Quicker is different from faster. F430 can hit 193mph; RS3 186mph.

  • @rong.7768

There are some petrolheads who love such buzz around power figures and performance supremacy, behind which company invest millions to get that little over the competition

Drove it back to back with an A45S. The merc destroyed the Audi for handling and dynamics. The RS3 is a lovely object with a great engine, in search of a chassis. Too much pitch and dive under braking, two or three bites necessary into a corner to set your line. The merc was agile, stable, predictable and savagely fast. I can see why people would love the RS3, but as a driver's car the Merc has it beaten. Incidentally I own a Fiesta ST like the one shown in this video. It has a better, more playful chassis than the Audi and you can use all the power available. It also has better steering. The ride at low speeds however is garbage. Mountune springs helped a bit. At the moment the 2023 Civic Type R is my prime target to replace the Fiesta, A45S is second, mainly due to the additional cost. I have a GT4 for weekends, so probably don't need the extreme power and pace of the A45S for a daily. But it is tempting...

So? It’s still an Audi! In everyday life doesn’t make big difference vs a simpler Audi. Ferrari does however.
