  • The new Audi RS3 is faster, smarter and more sideways than ever thanks to a new Drift Mode function. But is it more fun? And how does it stack up against an A45? Alex finds out.

    I absolutely love this RS3. Audi has produced some beautiful vehicles over the years and this is no exception. The design is aggressive but subtle at the same time.

    Glad this doesn't have a torque _steer_ mode -- I would love trying to drive the RS3 in a straight line if it did ;)

    Great video and exactly what I wanted to see in a review video. My wife and I are looking at purchasing one and we live in Adelaide too so the video helped with testing it on some windy Adelaide roads.
    I’m curious to see how fast you managed to get the beast in the bends straight mate?

    The only thing i'd change on that car is (other than common options) is to spec the carbon ceramic brakes & P Zero tyres so I could do the ocassional club sprint

    Hatch looks 🔥 were is the flat bottom steering wheel part of pack for Australia. Wait times are 2024 was told ?

    • @WheelsAustralia
      @WheelsAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the lack of a flat bottom wheel is an odd one. It's certainly available overseas. As for wait times, it's effectively sold out until at least this time in 2023 so your intel isn't that far off. We'll have a story on wait times at WhichCar.com.au soon - Alex

      Flat bottomed steering wheel isn’t available on any RS3 model with the adaptive cruise control even overseas, we get the RS3 fairly well fully optioned in Australia where as overseas is come less spec’d in standard trim so you can have the flat bottomed wheel but no adaptive cruise

      Sold out yes, or you could pay 150+ privately lol and have one today, yeah nah...I stick with my M performance for now unfortunately.

    Have seen this in the showroom. It’s amazing. 12-18 month wait in Australia apparently 😐

    • @GR8Tmate
      @GR8Tmate ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I was quoted 18 months today, basically told that I could get lucky and have it arrive in 15 months that but officially expect 18 months. It’s a strange world we live in, so I’m waiting 21-24 months for my new Troopcarrier & 18 months for my civilised daily. 🤨 Modern day problems I guess 😂

    I love it however this car is no longer sold here in Canada. I'll hang on to my 2018 RS3 a little while longer.

    Most of this sound is digital Alex - though the speakers, horrible, needs a free flowing muffler or two.

    Is it worth 2 Hyundai i30 N hatches? Not really

    • @WheelsAustralia
      @WheelsAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Michael, I've been struggling with this exact logic too. The law of diminishing returns is certainly in full swing here. I don't think the RS3 is poor value but it's certainly not 'twice as good' as an i30 N. The market clearly sees value in the RS3, though. 800+ orders and a 12 months wait list is encouraging/annoying! Alex

      @@WheelsAustralia yep its all about the badge for some people. Having driven both , what do you prefer? Obviously a nicer interior in the Audi but 45-50k better?

    • @alexinwood2723
      @alexinwood2723 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mharro88 crikey, that’s tough. If I was gifted either I’d take the RS3. But my own cash, I’d be very happy with the i30 N. Cracker of a hatch hatch and the recent facelift is a big improvement

    • @knight2425
      @knight2425 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely it worth 2 Hyundai’s, that’s not being because I favour the Audi but you try to get anything else that is like the RS3 and you’re paying around the same money

    Hey, why the car review mystery, my friend? 🚗 Specs, schmecs! It’s like trying to review a book without reading it. Aussie car reviews can be a real hoot sometimes, right? Except for our trusty mate Paul over at Car Expert, who’s like the Sherlock Holmes of car specs.
    But hey, don’t be too down in the dumps! Let’s hope these reviewers get their act together soon and start bringing the specs game. Cheers! 🕵️‍♂️😄
