Her husband ignored his wife's deteriorating mental state, including her saying the God wanted their baby. The next morning she took a knife to her 10 month old daughter and cut her arms off, killing her in the process. Police came responded to a call, and found her rocking the child, covered in blood, and singing Christian hymns. She was found not guilty by reason of insanity and was placed in an asylum. Davidson attracts people that are genuinely unwell, then makes them worse with his unhealthy fervour. He's a genuine menace.

Whether it's something as helpful as a reason to live or something as harmless as an answer to life after death. However, the more desperate you are, the more vulnerable you are. And not every religious leader is a good person. Some are cult leaders who will abuse kids or kill their congregation or what have you. But some are genuinely good people who have a good influence and help their community.

I told my friend at school that I wasn't religious and they couldn't handle it so they kept telling me for the rest of the day that I can still be saved if I give my faith to God in the most aggresive way possible. Then after I said that another kid at my school accused me of trying to convince him that god wasn't real. I only said I didn't believe in god and that I'm not religious but that turned everyone against me. I understand not all christians are like this so don't get the idea that I'm saying that at all. I have another christian friend who didn't have a problem with it at all. I can accept religious people. What I can't accept is people who shove their religion in my face and won't accept the fact that I'm not religious.
I've met people like that from many religions. Most of them were christian and muslims, the two most common religions around here. The christians immediately went to scare tactics, told me that God will put me in hell for not believing in him, when I asked why I should worship some egocentric asshole who can't handle if someone doesn't blindly believe in him they didn't have anything to counter except that I'd definitely burn in hell for calling their precious god an egocetric asshole. When I was in a high school in UK, I met plenty of fathers who are wholesome and cool, extremely religious but also open minded at the same time. I'm a believer and follower of God, but I 100 percent agree with you on the fact that it's quite annoying to deal with people who take peoples money from their donations and tithes, and do personal things with it. The money should be used to better the community (not just the church, but everything around us) and go towards helping others, not getting some self righteous "Christian" high on the love for God everyone has but him. Keep in mind that tithes doesn't need to go to the church, it needs to go where God wants it to go. You could personally donate the money if you feel that God wants you to, but whats important is that it's what God would want you to do. It's a shame what people consider being a Christian to be these days.

I told my friend at school that I wasn't religious and they couldn't handle it so they kept telling me for the rest of the day that I can still be saved if I give my faith to God in the most aggresive way possible. Then after I said that another kid at my school accused me of trying to convince him that god wasn't real. I only said I didn't believe in god and that I'm not religious but that turned everyone against me. I understand not all christians are like this so don't get the idea that I'm saying that at all. I have another christian friend who didn't have a problem with it at all. I can accept religious people. What I can't accept is people who shove their religion in my face and won't accept the fact that I'm not religious.
I've met people like that from many religions. Most of them were christian and muslims, the two most common religions around here. The christians immediately went to scare tactics, told me that God will put me in hell for not believing in him, when I asked why I should worship some egocentric asshole who can't handle if someone doesn't blindly believe in him they didn't have anything to counter except that I'd definitely burn in hell for calling their precious god an egocetric asshole.
My Muslim friends just were confused, told me that it made them sad that I couldn't see their gods beauty and were like "you'll find god sooner or later" and kept blabbing on and on and on about how god is this and god is that and not believing in god was the devil tryna trick me and shit like that. Less scare tactics, still equally as annoying.

I'm glad you had a great experience with christians. I really am happy for you. I know there are many great christians because I'm friends with some, some have raised me, I even watch the content of some like 'God is grey' but many more hold harmful beliefs.
Your good experience with Christians doesn't invalidate the many horrible experiences many other, myself included have felt. Im not going to air all my trama out for some random person on the internet that thinks they are so much more open since they try to play both sides. I was raised inside a Christian household and I live on an island where the most prominent belief is Christianity. My school forced me to pray and participate in their devotions every morning. My mother went through my phone every time she got a chance and when she saw me talking to someone about being atheist she beat me relentlessly, forced me to go to some pastor and talk to him for hours and then baptized me against my wishes.
I asked to go to a therapist and my mother made she I went to one of her christian friends and you can guess how biased or unbiased she was. I am not going to get a child because of the trama I went through and the looming fear that I'm going to cause the same pain if I have a child.
I'm aware of the good Christian's but I'm also aware of the gay people before me that were killed by Christians. I'm aware of the many innocent women that were killed during the witch trials. Not to forget all the present day misogyny, racism, homophobia, child abuse, and more that comes from the church.

I'm a believer and follower of God, but I 100 percent agree with you on the fact that it's quite annoying to deal with people who take peoples money from their donations and tithes, and do personal things with it. The money should be used to better the community (not just the church, but everything around us) and go towards helping others, not getting some self righteous "Christian" high on the love for God everyone has but him. Keep in mind that tithes doesn't need to go to the church, it needs to go where God wants it to go. You could personally donate the money if you feel that God wants you to, but whats important is that it's what God would want you to do. It's a shame what people consider being a Christian to be these days.
