I told my therapist about this the other day and she revealed she actually had one in her "saved for later" on Amazon, she had no idea how dangerous they are. Thanks for getting the word out more.
@@arandomperson920 In the moment sure but when it comes to making laws/long-term changes unfortunately people don't actually care enough. Keep in mind that it's illegal to use lethal force to protect your pet because they are considered property.
I just contacted a local vets office yesterday about this, and they’ve agreed to put up a PSA flier in their lobby! I sure hope that it works to discourage purchase of these dangerous knock offs.
How did you go about asking? I’ve been thinking about doing the same and asking my local vet and the rescue I work at but I’m not sure how I should pitch it. I’m worried they wouldn’t take me seriously if I don’t pitch it right
@@spoons5308 I asked them about any mechanical/technological related injuries they’ve seen before to start the topic and then it was naturally able to change for preventative measures, and then they said they could put a small section in their new owners manual/pamphlet when they reorder them and I offered to make a front page flier type thing.
from a cat's POV this would've been terrifiying, slowly losing oxygen while mechanical noises go on, likely very loud as cats are very sensitive to sound. and waking up to this in the morning would be horrible. and its quite embarassing that temu removed this while amazon still sells a whole bunch of these death traps
i thought it was basic thinking skills that if ur gonna have a device that moves at any random moment that is has sensors and reverse operations. its crazy that even if a human was there to help the cat the motor would FIGHT against them. in my opinion if it goes into a cleaning cycle even the slightest bit of weight should automatically open it. why cant ppl just clean the litter its not that hard.
Not just loosing oxygen, the machine is crushing their neck/throat to the point of almost d.e.c.a.p.i.t.a.t.i.o.n Edit: this isn't just dangerous for cats, Imagine a child's hand or even a child's head was inside the machine, they wouldn't manage to free themselves, a grown adult male aware of the machines flaws barely got his hand free
7:50 that noise means the motor is still going, full force, trying to close. that should NEVER happen. Shitty, evil, and whoever made this deserves nothing.
Really shows how far bootleggers are willing to go to cheapen the knockoff products they make. A simple current sensor would be enough to detect that something is impeding the motor and shut it down or trigger a reverse. Also just makes the fact that they're still charging as much as if this were a genuine product all the more evil.

That scene of the cat hanging dead in the litterbox must have been absolutely traumatizing. I can't even imagine what it felt like to see that for the owner
Imagine the cat though. On top of panic in the fact that it can't get out and it's getting crushed, all it's hearing are these loud weird mechanical beeping noises. That's absolutely terrifying.
Not to mention, it'd think that it's a predator considering it doesn't know it's another animals. And it thinks YOU put it there, so it also looses trust in you in their final moments
Thank you so much for posting this Charlie. I was just talking to my friend about their cat becoming picky about her litter box and I asked to see it, and I am SO glad I watched this video because I recognized it IMMEDIATELY. Absolute horror movie music started playing in my head. Shock, horror, revulsion. The thing has gone STRAIGHT to the bin TODAY. I hope you know you've definitely had a huge impact by bringing attention to this and probably saved some cat's lives.
@@Draikinator make sure you tell your friend to get the actual branded Litter Robot from their website if they're gonna get any automatic box. That one is proven many times over to be very safe.
Honestly, the door shouldn't even be that strong. Make it soft, floppy, and a sensor to make it stop if the door bends. The fact that it actually hurt the guy when he put his hand in it is a problem.
It isn’t a door as such, it’s the drum that rotates to clean itself. It needs motor strength - which is why it needs robust safety design. Their half-assed implementation does not come close to that standard.
Literally, I'm like "Did William Afton design this, holy crap." Fun fact, spring locks in real life are not that powerful at all. This is more deadly than Freddie Fazebear, for no reason :(
Dude, that simulation with the plush is TERRIFYING. That is a slow and painful way to go, literally torture. I can't imagine how distraught the owners feel finding their cats in such condition.
My heart literally dropped when I heard that, and got a mental image of how awful and painful such a death for these poor kitties must’ve been. Had to give my cat a big hug and hold him close after hearing that…finding your beloved cat deceased to such a horrific thing sounds traumatizing as hell.
Any pet owner w a brain and eyeballs shouldn’t even come close to allowing their cat to use this. Just look how it operates!!! Wow! Negligence all around imo.
yeah bro idk it’s pretty obvious this would happen with this device. at some point consumers need to take responsibility for their own broken brains when it comes to stuff like this
@@LuigiMario-ni3rjthis isn’t the consumer’s fault, stop fucking victim blaming, they bought a product, it is reasonable to expect that product to function, it is entirely the manufacturer’s fault

I have a cousin who’s cat “cookie” who lost half of its tail because it got stuck in it, to the point the cat still stuck in the litter box was taken to the vet. And the vet had to call the fire station next door to come help get cookie out but by the time the cat was free his tail was not salvageable. Now cookie just has half a tail but at least he has its life
Watching that plush get choked out was actually horrific because it sort of gave me a graphic image as to how these poor cats are going. It seems so slow and painful. Jesus Christ.
Omg i just saw… THAT IS HORRIBLE AND HORRIFYING Im about to start crying i own cats and seeing how that’s how cats die makes me wanna vomit. Be safe with your cuddley cats guys (ok y do i sound like a bot tho)
Also, why is the motor so ridiculously strong? Its only job is to lift a super light plastic lid. It doesn’t need to be strong enough to nearly crush someone's hand-it should fail mechanically if there’s even a minor obstruction, regardless of any sensors. The motor should only be strong enough to lift the lid, not a single gram more than that.
It has to do with how motors work. Motors spin very fast. So to make them spin slowly you have to step them down with gear boxes, which makes them stronger. The more you spin down a motor to make it move slowly, the stronger it gets.
@@ConsciousExpressionthat doesn’t mean you can’t purposefully spect gears that lose their engagement when they encounter resistance. Look up a slip clutch. This is super basic engineering.
I have an automatic litter box due to me having chronic illness, that has a sensor. If I even stand too close it literally will not budge. My cats dont get a chance to even stick their heads in, if they even walk by too close itll stop. AND my litter box rotates sideways not from the front, what a terrible design... Literally a guillotine. There needs to be additional safety features that shut a machine down when motion is sensed. This is a tragic story that could have easily been solved by better engineering and testing.
If it rotates side ways it’ll still decapitate them… so I don’t understand what you mean. I’m disabled, I’d rather not risk their lives when this is happening.
No matter how much pain and how crippled I’ve been, I’ve always just done the manual labor or invested in help when absolutely needed. Our litter box needed to be changed not long when I got out of surgery, and the rest of my family is somewhat to extensively physically disabled and I still did it barely 24 hours later. When i can’t do it for whatever reason, my disabled and old family members will still do it. There just isn’t much of an excuse - if you’re going to have any pets, you have to do the work required to take care of them and the overall household ecosystem. I’m sorry if it sounds blunt but it is not worth it to have any animals get jammed and murdered by a motor - motors and animals do not belong in the same environment.
this is why i won’t ever use one of these automatic litter boxes, i’m deathly terrified that a pet will die purely because of my choice to make my life more automated
I have one that’s completely safe and open. It has a timer that waits ten minutes after the cat leaves to do anything. It just moves back and forth. The absolute worst thing I could imagine happening with mine is him getting his paw stuck in the grill if the timer stopped working if he tried really hard. Edit: it’s called Petsafe Scoopfree
one of my cats is sleeping in my lap while watching this. just seeing the stuffed cat like that genuinely made me tear up, i couldn't imagine being any of the people who had to find their cat like that, let alone how scary of a death it must've been for the poor kittens. hopefully these videos help prevent more people from buying these death traps.
Me too, my cat babies are not with me at the moment but just seeing that made me cry, cats and little creatures like babies, I cannot stand seeing them in any pain. This is so scary
Absolutely disgusting. Theres no way they extensively tested this with a cat, anything to do with live animals needs to check EVERY possibility. Don't just blame the sensors not seeing the cat, blame the fact the door has enough force to trap and hang a cat. Blame the fact that this device you expect a cat to go in and out of MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY has any possibility to trap that cat. I don't know how the litter cleans itself but surely it would be safer to risk a cat jumping into it but being able to jump straight out too, than completely enclose the whole thing.
Well I would be concerned if they did TEST it with a living animal. They should have just made the door some thin sheet of rubber so it couldn't crush anything in the first place.
Engineer here: the door shouldn’t go upwards it should go down SLOWLY WITHOUT PRESSURE, BEING FED BY GRAVITY and then locking using hidden tabs that then get locked in. Sensors often fail or can be removed for any product, I worked for a company that made particle accelerators one of which was sent to Mexico where they ripped them off and ran the machine open in the plant irradiating everyone. If this comment gets enough likes I will waste my time making a function 3D model better than this product using the FREE cad software fusion 360 proving the company’s absolute ignorance and probably making it 1/4 the cost of involving electronic sensors!
I hate that people are making people who lost their cat feel guilty for buying this when they didn't know. It's the company's fault for selling it. This shouldn't be put on people.
@@LegallyinsaneLoL you missed their point, they’re parroting some of the people in these comments victim blaming the people who lost their cats to this
Imagine your pet who trusts you and relies on you dying alone and panicking without you knowing about it until the next morning. Just the thought of my cat getting stuck like that and trusting that I would come rescue him like I always have, but having that rescue never come. Especially when you factor in that going to the bathroom is when cats are at their most vulnerable, and it requires them to have absolute trust that the area they are relieving themselves in is safe. I would just feel like I utterly betrayed my cat and would not forgive myself if I lost him that way. Hope this company burns.

@@SalimShahdiOff it's not just cause someone "wants it", sometime people work all day and they don't want their cat sitting in their own poop for a whole working day, automated litter boxes are good for that and there are some safe ones, some open ones that don't close nor rotate, but this one is just a death trap and people don't know better cause they trust products on amazon
My automatic liter box is just a giant bucket that rotates so worse case my cats would just get startled or jump out. This is purely terrible design and a classic case of companies taking advantage of the rules and regulations and not taking responsibility. This is infuriating
A lot of people don’t realize how unregulated half the shit we buy online are. There’s so many things available on amazon made from dangerous materials or not the product they advertise. Hopefully this is the start of some real change.
These companies operate safely from China where no one can reach them. China openly sells scam products, brazenly violates copyright and privacy laws and openly performs corporate, government and military espionage and sabotage on the highest levels. It's a rogue nation with no regard for international law. If countries are having a hard time combatting the above, what chance do you think a lawsuit against a product like this will have?
As a certified cnc laser technician. Those sensors and stops should be an absolute requirement. If even one is tripped, stops should be in place until all sensors read nornal values. This is pure neglect. I'd have criminal cases if I didn't put the care and effort into properly setting up the safety nets that the lasers I work on have. This is shameful, unforgivable behaviour.
Screw the sensors. Those motors should not be capable of outputting that much force. Surely you don't need more than a pound or two of force to move that thing back and fourth. There is no reason for those motors to even be able to harm a cat.
@@MGBlast666 Unfortunately suing the seller won't do a thing. There are dozens of sellers selling the same thing and to top it all off, they're all from China. Amazon should be sued for allowing these things to be sold on their platform. This isn't the first nor the only dangerous scam currently being sold there.
@@Mr.Bimgus Even with how heavy cat litter can be, people barely use a pound or 2 per litter box, yeah. To use such strong motors is super redundant and dangerous, and it'd actually LEGITIMATELY be more cost effective to use a cheaper, SAFER, weaker motor.
Watching the plush go through the sim test was actually horrifying. And the sound it makes as if it'll just continue on cleaning like nothing happened actually made me speechless.
As a fellow Cat lover myself, this is my worst nightmare, how can these brands from China not install an infrared sensor or retraction motor to prevent deaths is beyond me!, any company that sells these coffins needs to be named and shamed!
That sounds like such a heartbreaking scene, no owner should ever have to wake up and see their loved pet hurt like that. This company needs to be sued into oblivion and have their owners in prison
The minute the machine not only stopped, but then kept forcibly closing on the garfield toy brought back memories to that one Ford Sportka commercial. Jail is too good for them, and names need to be brought up behind the companies selling this thing.
There shouldn’t even be a closing mechanism in the first place. There are many workaround for it that exist out there. None of them are physically possible to get anything stuck in anyway. But no, they just have to go with that braindead design. That’s so sad.
Thank you for spreading the word about this. I just saw the original video myself. It’s horrific and tragic that any cat, let alone MULTIPLE cats, have been killed by these machines. I hope that someday all of these will be off the market. I hope this reaches as many people as possible.
I actually had a similar litter robot, we got it for our cat Patches while we went over to vacation for just a few days (yes we left enough food) and I remember being the first back in the house and my cat was gone. I went to look for them until I saw the red liquid near the box. Turns out it started closing while she was inside and she tried to get out of it and got crushed. I miss Patches so much. She always stuck around me and loved to sleep with me, but i feel guilty for leaving my poor girl alone and letting this happen to her. Edit: Thanks for the nice words, it helps a lot to see that people care.

As a cat owner, this makes me terrified for other cat owners unaware of dangerous products like this. Please, please, please make sure you are certain whatever you buy for your cats, or any pets for that matter, is 100% safe. Disgusting and evil for anyone to even consider to sell these things.
why would you even consider buying a cheap robot knowing well that those cheap products usually dont function well/ have horrible quality. it's honestly on them for even buying this thing, poor kitties dont deserve owners like this
@@cherriepy7548 because most people don’t know that. A lot of people assume the best of companies and assume that they care about the safety of their users and forget that companies are just looking to make as much money as possible. The death of these cats are on the company, not the victim.
Oh that’s absolutely heartbreaking. I can’t imagine losing either of my babies like that. I hope the company or companies selling these litter boxes never see the light of day again.
Here’s the story for that one. The 13 year old girl was at home, mom at work or wherever. She calls mom in a panic, her kitty’s head is stuck and she can’t get it out. Mom looks at the picture and can tell it’s too late for the cat. Mom couldn’t get there in time, so she calls the Police and they go to the house and make the girl wait outside while they free the cats body, and try to calm the girl down. The sad part is she had gotten her kitty like 4 weeks ago, and followed the seller’s recommendation about weight. Then this happens. That poor kid dude. Uugh, how awful.
I really hope that kid gets put into therapy after this. She needs to work through this with a professional because I don’t think any child would be okay after this. My heart goes out to her
that thing is a danger to children also, a grown adult had trouble pulling his hand out when his hand got stuck what chance does a child have when they get stuck. What if a curious child decides to stick their hand or even worse their head in there?
7:52 that being the last thing your cat will hear is just so sad. The stress the cat would feel in its final moments is just devastating to think about
yeah it's completely unforgivable engineering my 3D printer has better crash detection safeties for protecting itself and the $0.83 part it's making than these things do for actual sentient beings it's not even a complicated or costly setup: the mainboard just checks if the motors are pulling too much current (which they would do if one of the moving parts has to push hard against something), and if they are it immediately stops everything

My oldest cat almost died at only a year old when I first got him due to excessive kidney stones. The only reason we caught it in time to save him was because we noticed there was no pee in his litter, something that we could've missed had we been using an automatic litterbox. We brought him to the vet and we were told we would've lost him if we'd brought him in even a day later. Luckily now he's 13, happy and healthy, and I'll never buy an automatic litterbox.
A lot of cats are dehydrated and urinary tract obstruction is somewhat endemic because most people just drop down a water dish and call it good. The tongue of a cat isn't "built" to lap water, they can do it but not very well and they don't really *like* to do it so they don't drink enough
The sellers need to be removed. And not just from Amazon. Might want to compellingly ask the CEO to visually inspect the inside of the box with the original firmware installed.
And Amazon needs to be held accountable as well, for allowing this shit to be sold, for making it accessible to millions, for faking and censoring reviews, for not doing quality control at all… but in reality they won’t, they got away with mistreating and endangering PEOPLE, so they will sadly not be punished.

At 13, the concept of death should be understood, either via the death of a pet, family member, etc. It would be disturbing yes, but not life-changing disturbing, to find the cat dead, at that age. If anything, it would foster mental fortitude. Now, to see and hear it happening... that's another story. Jesus christ. Holy shit. I’m so glad you’re bringing attention to this. I watched 5 Cats video last month and every time I think about how the poor cats died, it’s unbearable and so horrific.
Seeing the stuffed cat, even though it was stuffed, legit made my stomach turn. I cannot imagine what those families had to see. I am so sorry for what they went through.
8:30 I thought you were joking when you talked about the “kitty guillotine.” Nope, that thing is literally a plastic guillotine. You cannot prove me otherwise.
I’d rather face the disgusting odor and scoop the waste from the litter box the old fashioned way than come home to find my cat dead with a broken neck. This scam is downright evil.
This devastates me, I love my cats. This would ruin me. I hope everyone here understands just how absolutely horrific this is. I can't imagine it is instant death, there is suffering involved here. Not only of an innocent, unknowing being, but also of well-meaning caretakers. May our hearts feel that agony, just a fraction of it, and may just one of us hold the monsters manufacturing these accountable.
Exactly this. When the lady was explaining what happened to her cat I broke down and couldn’t help but cry for her and her lovely kitty. It is so deeply saddening and heartbreaking imagining what happened to all the cats that were killed by this disgusting death machine. I just keep thinking about the pain they were in. The people making these devices are sick, cruel and evil.
Owner of two cats here, they're both 14 years old and I've had them since I was a child. Losing them in such a horrific way is one of my worst fears. I use a traditional litter box fashioned from an old rubbermaid storage tub so my cats are luckily not at risk, but my god I cannot imagine the pain of finding your cat like that. Thanks for speaking on this. Now, speaking as an amateur programmer, there is NO reason that motor should have been that strong, NO reason that motor should have kept going, NO reason the machine should not have detected the resistance and immediately stopped the cycle, reversed, and then stopped until a user could manually reset the machine, and NO reason the cycle should have even started if the sensor was broken. NO reason the drum should spin perpindicular to the entrance. That sensor should be a single point of failure. The sensor breaking should render the entire machine inoperable. I'd rather lose money than have my cat get hurt.
I’ve always been suspicious about these automatic litter boxes. I’ve never wanted one because I immediately thought about how easily things could go wrong, but it’s not the consumers fault. Items in the US are typically tested for safety, so most people assume it’s going to be safe. Companies should absolutely be held accountable for this shit. I’d sue the fuck out of them if it happened to me.
@@999JWforever It’s not the buyers faults if the reviews are supposedly positive and it looks like a reliable tool. Just because it didn’t end up working doesn’t mean they could’ve had any possible way of knowing it was faulty beforehand. Stop excusing this one-of-many corporate shit show by victim blaming.
I just wanted to add a note about the review change, a while ago I had a situation where I was mis-sold and item, it was a screen protector for my phone, when it arrived it turned out it had this glue on the inside that nearly destroyed my phone. As the reviews were amazing I was so confused, I left a review saying that this was awful, don't buy. But then was contacted by the company and promised as many free items, money etc if I changed my review to at least a 4 star or something. I am not saying that is what happened here, but that's my only experience with something like this. Edit: Got to the end and it seems something similar actually happened with them.
I immediately started to cry. The thought of just finding your pet dead, without you being there for them, is the reason why I can’t move out of my house because I don’t own all of my pets, but I’m the one who takes care of them all. The thought that they could be injured or worse is why I stay up with my cats and go to sleep only when they do. They’re apart of the family, moreso than others I’m blood related to. I really hope no other cat will be harmed by this litterbox.
As a fellow Cat lover myself, this is my worst nightmare, how can these brands from China not install an infrared sensor or retraction motor to prevent deaths is beyond me!, any company that sells these coffins needs to be named and shamed!
Unfortunately, the company that makes or outsources these cat-killing machines keeps re-branding whenever they're caught and called out for their bullshittery, so suing them is extremely difficult.

It's called white labelling. They aren't repackaging it once they get caught, they already do it so they control most of the market for that object. Very prevalent on places like Amazon because the more listings for an object that belongs to you (anything from charging leads, to cat litter boxes, to children's toys), the more likely a customer is to be exposed to your listing. It should be illegal. It leads to customers leaving a bad review on the item that caused harm/didn't work, but they still need the item that they bought. So they buy it again from the same company but under a different brand name - then it breaks again. Then they do it all over again and eventually the customer gets so fed up that they just keep the low quality item. They feel like there's no other options available - but this is because white labelling has artificially inflated and obfuscated the market
Just imagine if a curious kid investigated this death trap. An adult man had trouble freeing his hand, think of what would've happened if a toddler did the same thing.
"omg red stuff everywhere!" to not get banned by Chinese censorship, still banned for calling out a Chinese knock-off company. TikTok users are a living breathing joke on humanity.
The unfortunate thing is that this isn't an "automatic litterbox problem", because there's plenty of designs that don't even have a pinch risk like this - they have open fronts and rotate left-to-right, or have robust safety sensors.
@@skylius Mine was a gift but I've had to buy a few replacement liners over the last 2 years because my cats are very claw-happy. I was super relieved that it wasn't a video about that specific model... poor babies.
Or, like the one I have, It's more like a traditional litter box. Short, wide, open top. But after a cat leaves.. *After. It will stop if it detects a cat or too much pressure on the arm.* A raking arm comes across, scooping anything it catches under a small panel, you empty out the entire thing about once a week.
I’m SO SO SO SO thankful he shed light on this, I had no idea abt this. I’m one of MANY cat owners that want the best for their cat(s), but can’t always afford the luxury of certain products and steer toward cheaper alternatives. To think that one day I could’ve had some extra money, bought this thing thinking I’m doing something good for my baby, then find her hanging from it the next day.. I can’t even process it
I'd say a "self cleaning" litter box is more for the convenience of the owner than for the benefit of the cat. There is no way I'd let my cats use something unless I'm certain I know what it does. That goes even more for an electric device. These deaths are in part because of negligence of their owners.
@@DefectivePieceofChalk I agree, it isn’t a good purchase for me since I have the time (and only 1 cat) to clean it regularly. It’s much more appealing to busy families and/or whoever has many cats. Negligence by a company/seller that’s actively causing death to it’s target audience, trying to cover it up, while making hundreds from each purchase is diabolical. The tools to improve its design are there, but it’s a cheap copypasted dropshipped murder machine that’s been advertised to be a helping hand. They know what they’re doing. While owners definitely have a part in the negligence, they bought the machine because they were deceived and lead to believe it was safe

It doesn’t need to be strong enough to nearly crush someone's hand-it should fail mechanically if there’s even a minor obstruction, regardless of any sensors. The motor should only be strong enough to lift the lid, not a single gram more than that.
My thoughts exactly. What the Hell is that motor made of?! Not that I need to know.
that, or coupled with a very light clutch or magnetic drive that will slip
It has to do with how motors work. Motors spin very fast. So to make them spin slowly you have to step them down with gear boxes, which makes them stronger. The more you spin down a motor to make it move slowly, the stronger it gets.
This is some Fredbears Family Diner type shit

Mom couldn’t get there in time, so she calls the Police and they go to the house and make the girl wait outside while they free the cats body, and try to calm the girl down. My oldest cat almost died at only a year old when I first got him due to excessive kidney stones. We brought him to the vet and we were told we would've lost him if we'd brought him in even a day later. Luckily now he's 13, happy and healthy, and I'll never buy an automatic litterbox.
Glad your cat is ok now 👍
❤ you're a hero.
I'm gonna level with you, I don't think the concept of an automatic litter box is the issue here.
A lot of cats are dehydrated and urinary tract obstruction is somewhat endemic because most people just drop down a water dish and call it good. The tongue of a cat isn't "built" to lap water, they can do it but not very well and they don't really *like* to do it so they don't drink enough

And Amazon needs to be held accountable as well, for allowing this shit to be sold, for making it accessible to millions, for faking and censoring reviews, for not doing quality control at all… but in reality they won’t, they got away with mistreating and endangering PEOPLE, so they will sadly not be punished.

It's such an odd product tbh. Everyone who owns a cat knows and has seen at least ONCE that the cat will poop, jump out and return to scrape the litter a few times to make sure the poop is covered... This thing very clearly has no sensors or safety in mind. They literally did NOT care.
Amztoy is actually on youtube!! Seriously!! The channel is actually here and as of typing this message it has 7 videos and 161 subscribers!! I have already reported this channel to youtube so please do the same and encourage other to do so!! Even if this saves one cats life, it will be worth it!! ehn I reported them, youtube did not have an animal endangerment category but they did have one for children, so I just chose that, because that is also relevant as human children could be harmed by this thing too!! In the option at the end where you can type in a description, I just pretty much told them to watch this vid to get all the info they need!!
and I have a gut feeling they made it that way, but it's just a feeling that I hope isn't right and I hope it's just me overthinking
They litter-ally don't care.
Considering that this company is in China, where animal safety and animal rights are non existing, I'm not surprised at all.
@@eduardoguerra3032 they probably just didn't give a fuck about it. do you even think they thought about that? i'd say no. they just wanna get a product out there ASAP. that's all.
I’m so glad you’re bringing attention to this. I watched 5 Cats video last month and every time I think about how the poor cats died, it’s unbearable and so horrific.
the garfield plushie example was absolutely horrifying.. I cant imagine the pain the cats that fell victim to that terrible machine went through.. :'(
This makes me wanna cry! Plus my intrusive thoughts don't help, poor kitties!😭
Probably asking like "why" and the owners now helpless to watch what's happening.
@@hiddenscars101i AM crying rn. praying more kitties don’t fall victim to this
Seeing the stuffed cat, even though it was stuffed, legit made my stomach turn. I cannot imagine what those families had to see. I am so sorry for what they went through.
8:30 I thought you were joking when you talked about the “kitty guillotine.” Nope, that thing is literally a plastic guillotine. You cannot prove me otherwise.
It's more like a really messed up extruder
I’d rather face the disgusting odor and scoop the waste from the litter box the old fashioned way than come home to find my cat dead with a broken neck. This scam is downright evil.
This devastates me, I love my cats. This would ruin me. I hope everyone here understands just how absolutely horrific this is. I can't imagine it is instant death, there is suffering involved here. Not only of an innocent, unknowing being, but also of well-meaning caretakers. May our hearts feel that agony, just a fraction of it, and may just one of us hold the monsters manufacturing these accountable.
Couldn't have said it better, this hurts my heart in the worst way.
😢
@@vindemia imagine explaining this to your 2 year old daughter. Absolutely fucked
Sadly nobody's going to be held accountable. The vast majority of these sellers are from China.
There is no "fixing" this product, take it off shelfs, whoever made it, off yourself.

Never wanted to game end someone so badly as much as the one making that death trap
Nice way of putting it!!!!! I'm going to remember that!
And I with you. I'm angry crying.
You're cringe! RWGS is way better!
Buyers fault 😂
@@999JWforever It’s not the buyers faults if the reviews are supposedly positive and it looks like a reliable tool. Just because it didn’t end up working doesn’t mean they could’ve had any possible way of knowing it was faulty beforehand. Stop excusing this one-of-many corporate shit show by victim blaming.
Rage baiting loser @@999JWforever
I just wanted to add a note about the review change, a while ago I had a situation where I was mis-sold and item, it was a screen protector for my phone, when it arrived it turned out it had this glue on the inside that nearly destroyed my phone. As the reviews were amazing I was so confused, I left a review saying that this was awful, don't buy. But then was contacted by the company and promised as many free items, money etc if I changed my review to at least a 4 star or something. I am not saying that is what happened here, but that's my only experience with something like this.
Edit: Got to the end and it seems something similar actually happened with them.
Not enough unless I get all three of the latest apple products! 😂 But really, that is f**ed up.
she was promised that the item would be removed for amazon, which unfortunately, did work out like she planned :(
I immediately started to cry.
It’s honestly traumatic :(
So sad to see.
If you really cared than the litterbox was in the litter....
As a fellow Cat lover myself, this is my worst nightmare, how can these brands from China not install an infrared sensor or retraction motor to prevent deaths is beyond me!, any company that sells these coffins needs to be named and shamed!
my reaction too… I went from wincing to wanting to throw up.
No matter how much money the company gives. If they killed my cat, them i'm going to sue the heck out of them.
Unfortunately, the company that makes or outsources these cat-killing machines keeps re-branding whenever they're caught and called out for their bullshittery, so suing them is extremely difficult.
16:01 Thank you for stopping the story there, Charles. Like, just imagining the 13 year old girl finding that. Bro. It was massively distressing thus far already. Best spread this around and prevent any more casualties.
that poor girl is traumatized...
The loud sound as the device tries to go up but an object blocks the way is frightening, like it's basically the sound of death
This is also extremely dangerous to curious babies and toddlers. They need to ban these litter boxes ASAP!
This thought didn't even cross my mind but you are 100% right. This device is VERY dangerous.
Imagine what would happen if a puppy went and did something?
I was looking for this comment. This one also needs to be at the top.
omg i didnt even think about that
Nah that shit stinks and it's a pain to climb into so there's no way. It's not impossible but it's just not going to happen.
The Cat Distribution System gifted us with the sweetest kitten two months ago. The sheer horror I feel after hearing this? I my anxiety is spiking even thinking about this.

genuinely, if that would've happened, wouldn't we need to call someone for that? like 9 1 1 or something? gen question im curious like i could never actually clean it i physically couldn't...
@@pooloopoono, our emergency services are really only supposed to be used for humans, and it’s too late for an emergency vet to do anything if the cat is already dead. They'd at least want to check on the child.
@@vickypedia1308 thank you
This might sound like fearmongering but I can imagine these companies doing the exact same thing with children's products: selling cheap crap that could seriously injure or kill a child - then hiding the bad reviews, re-packing the same shit under a different name, and avoiding legal consequences because they're based abroad.
You don't even have to imagine; things like this have happened before. For example, chew toys designed for toddlers specifically, that were found to be highly toxic, and that's just one example.

That's what happens when we resell crap from Aliexpress. Dropshipping should be fkin illegal or at least controlled better.
This made me cry, this product absolutely should be stopped.

The unfortunate thing is that this isn't an "automatic litterbox problem", because there's plenty of designs that don't even have a pinch risk like this - they have open fronts and rotate left-to-right, or have robust safety sensors.
Yeah I have a whisker litter robot 4 thing is perfect has been since I got it like a year ago.

Some people hate the idea of an open litter box, I imagine, even if its auto cleaned.
Your cats don’t care, trust me- as long as you keep it relatively clean they’ll appreciate it more than this infernal machine…keep it simple is my advice! Yeah these are really for the owners who are icked out by the litter box chore, which is just part of being a cat owner (and there are other old school solutions for odor control & discrete placement, etc)

@@DefectivePieceofChalk Cats do appreciate having a consistently clean litterbox, so the automatic ones do benefit the cat (unless you are home all day/have seven litterboxes, you can't keep a litter tray as clean as an automatic one can). You just have to make sure you're still checking out your cat's waste for health reasons. A lot of litter robots also track your cat's weight which helps for their health. You just have to drop hundred and hundreds on a legit brand unfortunately.
