the fact that Lockhart is a Ravenclaw is beyond J.K. Rowling and me. edit: for the people that are saying he built a career out of one spell and all that, i get that it was pretty smart and i know Ravenclaw isn't always about being "book-smart" but what i meant is his first impression is that he is annoying and a bit dumb. It's only when you get into greater detail that you realise he was actually smart.
Perhaps it was because of his amazing use of the mind wiping spell? Like it may have been hard to master or something??? That, and the fact that he was smart enough to concoct a plan to make himself look as heroic and brave as your typical Gryffindor despite genuinely being a coward. He must have also managed to be charming enough to interview these wizards and their lives before wiping away their memories. So basically his intellect comes from outsmarting wizards who'd love to brag about their achievements and then claiming it as his own.
@@mutantsandmemes I'm assuming you would be in Ravenclaw because I don't understand how the heck you figured that out 😂 and Obliviate isn't a hard spell i don't think but thats actually a great plan.
@@ellasimagination5782 wow that's probably the best compliment I've gotten from this fandom 😂😂 I'm actually torn between houses; my first house I ever got on the original interactive Pottermore was Slytherin, which I guess allows me to have insight to others cunning behaviour and ambitions. But when the site was rebooted to just houses, wands and patronuses, I got Hufflepuff - which I'm fine with, because there are some great traits there that I relate heavily to. However I do sometimes feel myself leaning to my Slytherin roots lol
Wait, you guys found him annoying? I always thought he was hillarious, probably one of my favorite characters of the franchise and I'm not even joking. He's a living stereotype of narcisism and it's so over the top that I can't help laughing my ass off during every scene he's in.
He's so annoying that it's actually kind of funny. Also the fact that he tried to roast snape, but lockhart, without knowing snape, always has a comeback.
If I were in that Professor of Nowt's quiz I'd not answer his questions but doodle ALL over his quiz paper! On second thoughts, if I did, I'd put answers like, for example, to questions like "What is Gilderoy's greatest achievement?"; being a puffed up fluff ball of vanity! XD
Right? "It was pretty obvious what you were about to do." Yeah, because he took forever to say it, and yet you still didn't counter or even block it, HMMMMMMMM
0:46 The fact that Snape can cast a spell without even saying it makes it obvious that he was going easy on Lockheart, so Lockheart could have dodged- Snape was such a good character. Also, here have this: Everyone: Expelliarmus! Snape: EX PELLIARMUS! Man, he must really miss Lily- I totally didn't copy that meme from a different comment-
Harry: Expelliarmus!
Snape: *ekkkkkkkkssssssssssssspelliarmus!*
😂😂😂

Gilderoy - "Lets practice some duelling shall we?"

I never understood how wizards can cast a spell without say anything.
Everyone has a kid in class who's like this
Noboby, Never, Nothing:
Draco Malfoy: My fatha will hear about this
They couldn’t have picked a better actor for Lockhart than Kenneth Branagh.
I think they did a great job
Ah yes. The Jar Jar Binks of Harry Potter. Thank god he was only in one film.
Pretty sure he’s not a sith lord
What about Umbridge?
@@iamjayrts25 she is the female form of Satan. Different thing
@@justincummings8557 ohh makes sense

Snape

I think we'd all prefer Gilderoy over Umbridge
of course we do. Atleast Gilderoy teaches some spells but Umbridge is teaching useless things
For sure. V
He is a bad teacher but not the worst. The worst and most annoying DADA teacher in hogwarts is umbridge
