It would have been nice to have a look at the completed install so we could see what it looked like overall. The close up you can't really tell anything about what the front of the jeep looks like.
How was you able to put the nut on bolt in frame thats the only thing ive been thinking of how to do? Any special tools needed to hold it on the nuts to get it started?
I know this video is six years old, but Rockhard, makes a bolt on winch plate that slides into the frame channels and bolts on. no cutting or drilling .made foe Jeep jk stock bumbers
WHY did you CUT ANYTHING when the owners manual clearly states NOT TO because it will compromise its strength??? Also, nobody else who installed this on a JK needed to chop 2 chunks off, so I guess I’m confused as to why you felt you needed to and why you’d RISK defying the manufacturers warning and certainly voiding any chance of warranty coverage….
Universal. Old English word meaning "must be modified to fit". The reason the winch plate instructions say that is because Harbor Freight's legal eagles told them they had to put it on there., much like the frozen pizza makers have to say on their directions "Do not eat pizza before cooking it".
As an update. I've used this a few times now to get out of sticky situations and it's worked perfectly.

Someone new to mounted winches here... I guess the idea is to run bolts through the plate and frame rails?
Just curious what you used to cut the plastic with. It looks pretty clean to me.

What length is that hook hole I can't find anywhere
Save a lot of time and headache buy a rough country winch plate , straight bolt on..
