Is there a follow up where you took it off again so you can install the winch on it? Much easier to install the winch to the plate first, given that the winch bolts on from underneath.

Dude! Use a breaker bar to avoid stressing out the ratchet when loosening the bolts. Check the torque on the bolts.

WD-40 or some other "deep creep" lubricant applied a day early works wounders at loosening and removing rusted or seized bolts.
