    Another thanks for showing where you ran the cables to the battery. Working on putting a Warn on my JK.

    Thanks for showing the cable routing you did. That seems to be the hard part for other folks when doing these. That was helpful. Nice work!

    Thanks for posting the video.
    Minor comment: the nut on the battery clamp closest to the post is actually a conical nut that tightens the clamp.
    Putting a wire or anything under this nut, will prevent the clamp from staying tight. The nut further away from the post is the one to use.

    Installing winch today and this was so helpful. 21 JLU has a full engine bay and this was so helpful to figure out the wiring.

    Thanks for the instructions. Obviously, I am here as I am about to install my winch and I just wanted a visual confirmation...
    You did all the same as the manual that came with my winch shows, except one thing: mounting the fairlead. My manual reads: "Attach fairlead to the mounting holes by placing bolt heads on the winch side of plate and nuts outside, the clearances might be tight..." Not sure if this is a standard, but just a note for anyone using this video as a manual for installation... 🍁🍁🍁
    Cheers

    I just installed a similar set up , where the winch and light bar sticks up just as high as yours. Do you have any issues with air flow or over heating? I keep reading that your wimch should be in a recessed bumper. Just wanted to know if you have had any issues?

    How are you able to get the head of the cable through the rollers. Mine is too think

    • @ghostlyrich
      @ghostlyrich  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you trying to put it through with the hook attached? If all else fails if the rollers have snap rings you can pop the snap rings put it through than put back on

      @@ghostlyrich no wasn’t trying with the hook on. Ended up tapping it through with a hammer. I guess the knock wasn’t to spec and was wider than needed to be. Went through fine with a few love taps.

    No kill switch between the winch and battery?

    • @ghostlyrich
      @ghostlyrich  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No they draw to much no fuse required

    • @nicklemaster6752
      @nicklemaster6752 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ghostlyrich not a fuse a battery disconnect switch to cut electricity to the winch when not in use... being hooked directly to the battery like so with nothing in between if that positive wire gets a chaif or cut anywhere close to bear metal better hope you can unscrew those wires from the battery fast enough to keep the truck from catching fire.

    Why do you call the fairlead a ferret? I've never heard that before.

    • @seanseoltoir
      @seanseoltoir 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, kind of irritating... I heard it as "farad" (as in the measure of electrical capacitance)...
      Turns out that he's a 51st Stater (i.e. Canadian)... That explains why he talks funny, eh? :)

      @ghostlyrich  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
