  • We attempted to drive the Yota Sunrader to 14,100ft of the Summit of Pikes Peak, however midway up the weather took a drastic turn. The amount of snow that fell in just an hours time was incredible, and essentially we were the last people off the mountain. It took a quite a while to get back down due to the amount of black ice under the snow covered roads.
All in a days adventure with the toyota!

My partner and I also have a sunrader of this era. Recently the heater had a slight hiccup turned out to be the relay. Nice work documenting your adventures I'm lucky if I get off a couple pics.

@@SirDrifto good morning. 85. With the four-speed manual. Currently has about 125,000 MI. Living in Mendocino county California. Just spent the last month and a half working through a long list of issues now we're down to the last couple things. Still throwing a number five code. Running good though just running rich black liquidy exhaust.

I live in Maine so I am used to snow covered roads and driving in snowstorms... But when my girlfriend and I start travelling in our sunrader, I am avoiding snow if I can lol

A good thing about those re’s is their not fast but they have good torque for their size.

I have three different heaters in my Toyota motorhome for this exact reason. Never trust a single point of failure.

That’s a great perspective. What heaters are you using?

The furnace on my 93 Warrior never worked, think its the sail switch but never bothered to mess with. I got a little buddy propane heater and its all youll ever need. I camped many nights 20 degrees and colder and kept me nice and warm. Another great thing is their really small, so can be stored fairly easily. Couple years ago on my way from Colorado to Glamis Sand Dunes, i stopped in Gallup NM in January. I didnt have the lil buddy at that time and literally froze my rear off. My feet were so frozen upon waking up i seriously thought i was gonna loose a few toes to frostbite. Anyways lesson learned. Now i ALWAYS keep heater and a 0 degree sleeping bag in my Warrior! Great videos also!

I run cable chains on the rear outside dually wheels and link chains on the front if its really deep (helps with steering).

      I've heard chains work great.

In my Toyota the battery has to be full to running the furnace
