If you coming during winter time, I would recommend Hainan island, it is a nice tropical island to escape the harsh winter. My parents spend 4 month in Hainan every winter. As you from Norway, I think you probably can skip the icy scenery from northern China😂
About all China's cities are modern, but I head that the Shenzhen and Shanghai are the most modern cities in China. Some people also say the Chengdu is very modern. I look forward that you go to Shenzhen and make videos and share here. I hope that you have a good journey.
You have german trains in China actually, CRH3 Hexie is a version of a Siemens train. The newest model, the CRH 400 is just wow, smooth, quiet and a soft ride. China built the most impressive rail network, which is the most modern in the world, in addition to one of the most advanced train sets. The comfort onboard is without comparison, the best.
Public transport in China is very reasonable priced indeed, but the Chinese train business product is not comparable to any "western" product, it is so much better. In my opinion, the price is very much worth the product and service.
