  • I have had a lot going on lately but I carved out a little time to melt some aluminum channel I had leftover from a previous melting session so I melted it down and poured some quick ingots. It felt good to get back in the saddle.
    I hope you enjoy watching this simple melt video as much as I did making it.

    I'm not sure why this is so relaxing to watch. But the perfect way to wind down after a stressful day of work.
    Hope you're well, and thank you for sharing with us

    A quick melt is better than no melt at all. Good to see you back, man! And as you said, the stack grows... a little bit, anyway.

    You are completely correct even a little melt is fun brother. Awesome episode all the same. You need to get hold of a plug in drill brother. You keep using the hand drills you will burn out the motors on them. Catch you in the next episode brother stay safe

    Great content,
    Very nice melt, little dross or slag. Some of the steam explosions are nasty, I have seen some people put that fire protector on the hose to the tank. You would hate to have one spark burn your propane line and poof.

    Long video, short video, I don't care as long as you are here! Are you busy at work? If so, stop it! 😂
    Anyway, did I tell you that I got a furnace for Christmas? I need bigger molds. But I don't know where to get them. I also wanted to know the type of sealer that you use on your wool? I found some on Amazon. But I don't know if I should trust it. I don't want to type your eyes off. So, I really hope to see you again soon, my friend! Love ya!

      Thank you Tracy!! You are too kind, I appreciate you! Thats awesome you got a furnace. I have ordered a lot of the bar molds I use from Amazon, in fact the ones in this video were from Amazon and they weren’t too expensive given the size. I’d have to go back and look at the video I made when I re-wooled my furnace, I know I showed it and maybe even left links. It has held up pretty good for me so far. Email me if you want and I’ll send you some links of what I have purchased. So good to hear from you my friend, talk you soon. Love ya too!

    Nice video and great guesstimate on pouring the ingots evenly. Glad to see you upload new content. Have you cracked a crucible with your push style?

    • @TheGrowingStack
      @TheGrowingStack  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Jim! Thank you, and sorry I forgot to get back to you. I have yet to crack a crucible since that day years ago when I tried using pliers to lift it out of the furnace and broke one when I was melting $ilver 😳
      That was a sad day for sure.

    Was that liquid at the end, like, mercury or gallium or something?

    Beautiful!!! They came out beautifully! What was that liquid like metal that was on the spoon? It reminded me of Mercury.

    • @TheGrowingStack
      @TheGrowingStack  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Irish! It was some aluminum that was in the bottom of the crucible as I was scraping it out. It was fun to swirl around.

    • @TheGrowingStack

      It’s been 69 days since my last upload. WAY TOO LONG I KNOW. I’m sorry for my absence, trust me, I’d rather be melting and doing my normal life. Life has been a challenge the last two months. Let’s just say, anything and everything that could go wrong… did go wrong, and it all happened back to back to back in the last 60 days. My life has been a roller coaster, but I don’t think the universe has anything left to throw at me at this point, so I hope to put the last of the pieces back together and get back on track 👍
