I was just thinking to myself yesterday that I hadn't seen a video from you in quite some time. Glad to see you're still around and publishing content!
I know Emma, it’s been too long. I just wrapped up a long ongoing work project so I should be able to get back in the normal swing of things soon. Good to hear for you!
Hey my Friend!!!!!!!!!!! I am Alive!!!!!! LOL... had my heart surgery and was half a success.. yes half because it was being ornery they could only get one part of it done... Just means Ill probably have another surgery in the future but right now I am in down time for recovery and boom!! first video on my feed was You...Thanks for the drop and this like many things was a learning experience... seems from what I have seen sand casting can always be a crap shoot no matter how many times one does it... sometimes the metal just says... No.... I think it turned out great either way.. we could think of the bad spot as a gem cutter in training and where they cut a flawed gem wrong and lost the bevel.. so now you have a story... I hope this is coherent as the meds for pain are strong right now. I also like that you included posting more of the steps intext... also the bars looked good.. one was completely awesome and the other was good but looked like the metal was being difficult and wouldn't level in the mold for you right after the pour.. but dude that doesn't matter you have a great bar with that one still for a remelt later as it will be a cleaner melt using that one again...again thank you... this brightened my day tremendously!!! Be well my friend and keep on melting!!!! and sharing your journey. as we learn from you. Be well and safe in all you do...much love and respect .
Thanks Irish!! Always amazing to get your feedback! I love hearing from you and feel free to let your ideas flow as to what I should try next. New ideas are always welcome 😉🙂
I can already tell this is going to turn out sick !! I am putting in a request that you do one again but with a mirror finish lol I love love shiny shiny's. I think this one looks awesome !! Very nice one. Thanks for sharing !!
This is a great video! Thanks for sharing. Very thorough and well made. I would request that you add a caution to future videos encouraging people to preheat any metal they add to the hot crucible. If there is any moisture in the metal you add the crucible can suffer a steam explosion and spray you with molten metal.
Thank you David! I should have mentioned something or heated it like I usually do. It was early in the melting process that I felt a certain level of safety for myself when I added it, but a very good point. Thank you my friend! 👍
Another great video. I like the gem and the bars. It's a shame about the little hole, but the rest looks great! I'm looking forward to another video from you.
Thank you Leslie! I know, the bad patch and the hole made me a little sad, but it definitely taught me a lot too. You’re awesome as always, see you soon!
Thank you Sinaka! I’ll have to look those up and see what they look like. Maybe I can try and design some myself if I can’t find any designs out in the wild 👍
Dude great video, dimond looks good even with a blemish. I would still like to see you do one of those Grim Reapers that you have made of wax in copper
I really enjoyed this video. You already know that I don't care about perfection. It's all great practice! I wanted to ask if you were nervous when you 1st started melting?
Thank you as always Tracy I feel like we resonate on the perfection level… I always strive for it, but every melt/casting I like to play it as it lies so everyone can see what I actually did without any fluff. It is definitely great practice and learning with each endeavor. When I started melting I had a little nervousness but my drive for exploration and curiosity always over took my nerves… In my mind, when I get an idea to do something, or try something, nothing can stop it. I approach melting the same way 🙂👍
Hey dude, I just thought of a cool sandcast to try. 3D print a Statue of Liberty and sandcast it in copper so it will tarnish and look like the real deal. Just an Idea.
I think it’s pretty cool, does the finish look better when you let it cool slowly or does putting it in ice so it cools faster make a difference in the shine? I do like it when you put it in ice though. It looks really cool and sounds awesome.
@@TheGrowingStack i need a furnace and everything involved. i see packages on amazon for under $200 for a starter kit, but there are so many options. i just want to melt scrap metals like aluminum and copper into bars. i might make some sand castings in the future, but my initial goal is to just make metal bars and consolidate al my scrap.
I did. Thank you, but unfortunately I can’t really melt 99% of the items. If you would like I could send it back to you, otherwise I can’t really melt the ferrous items. Let me know.
@@demonseed9872 it’s mostly magnetic so I can’t. Sorry man, I’ll pitch it. I can melt aluminum, copper, brass, bronze items, anything non-magnetic. Thank you so much for thinking of me though, I really appreciate it.

@@TheGrowingStack you bet! I’m sure I can think of something 😊
Cool casting process and what a result!
Thank you 👍👍
Nice video. I’m a week behind in YT viewing (bad WiFi on vacation). Nice idea, print and cast.
Looks fantastic.
NICE!It has been awhile but but can’t wait till next time.
It has been too long, but I just completed a many months long task at work so hopefully I won’t be absent as much anymore 👍

Cool, thats nice. I Like it.
I appreciate you, thank you!
Always look forward to seeing your work. An idea you might want to consider, Nordic runestones or Viking symbols 3D printed. Viking stuff is Metal AF.

You should cast a custom anvil with your logo on it for flattening tubing
I wonder if that's the 3d model I made, I haven't seen many other basic round cut models so if it is that's awesome. Great cast nonetheless.
I’ll have to find out, a friend sent it to me to print and try and cast. If it was yours, thank you, it was fun to work with! 👍

Think it's for asmr
Thank you! I just ice it when I want to get to work right away and not have to wait forever for it to cool down by itself.
Sick
Thanks Charles!

That's a shame about the shrinkage, the rest of it's cool though.
Thanks Kraken! I know, I wanted to see it perfect, but there’s always next time 😉
Sorry this is the only way I n can chat with ya. I hope everything in the box is able to be melted. Do you video taking stuff out of the box?
I’ll put it in the video yeah. You can email me at TheGrowingStack@gmail.com if you want also. I’ll check the mail today and see if it’s there 👍
If you can use any of it for something else go for it actually
I feel horrible for wasting our time I’m so sorry man

i want to start melting metal but i can't decide what to buy on amazon, there are so many choices.
Are you looking for certain things like molds or crucibles? I can help depending on what you’re after.
