I really appreciate your willingness to take the time to explain your process to us. As a young guy trying to learn the skills to open my own business videos like this are really valuable to me.
Thank you for leaving this comment it really makes me happy to hear of a youngster learning to work with your hands and get out there into business for yourself. Never stop improving and learning. Take care of yourself and work to be the best version of yourself in every aspect of your life....all you need is built within you if you learn to work with what you got...best of luck...keep commenting....and feel free to ask questions in the comment section anytime
Well you can't blame the guy for bringing his trailer across state to have the best in the business do the fabrication. Or should I say do the Doozin. You are the man....man. Great video great craftsmanship
Just so you know, I like your videos more than most welding channels. Thanks for sharing your tips and welding adventures. Hang in there and your channel will grow.
If everyone would consider what CB said, please take into consideration he takes his time and money to make videos for you knowledge and entertainment. If you would just take a minute of your time to help him in return it will give him a reason to continue. It’s unfortunate people don’t seem to value anyone’s time unless it’s theirs. Thanks for the video CB Give the man a 👍if you don’t want to comment
I wasn’t sure about the aluminum sheets at first but really like how you reinforced them it looks great. It will be a sad day when/if you hang it up as far as the videos but I realize it can be frustrating. I hope it gets better for you. Everyone give this man a like comment and subscribe so it’s worth it for him to keep entertaining us!!! I have said it before prob the best hands on welding channel. Anyone starting out or wanting to learn watch NBS and Jody’s weldingtips&tricks and you got it made. Just thought of something else. You forgot to mention the time you always spend replying to the comments! Makes it that much more interesting to viewers.
Hey Cb great video! I work with Paul and he wanted me to take on his trailer project but I don’t own a welder. I told him to bring it to work and we would do there but management doesn’t allow personal projects that big. I told him about you and he started watching your videos I new you wouldn’t cut any corners when it comes to your professionalism in fabrication and welding. It shows in the ramps. The ramps needed that gusset in the middle and that’s exactly what you did. I would recommend you to anybody!
Well thanks a million times over...you hooked me up on this one. I really enjoyed it and enjoyed meeting Paul & Anita. And thanks for watching and commenting 👍
CB, thank you for the time and effort you put into your videos. The wealth of information you give is incredible. I have seen every video, what a difference from your first until now. Again thank you, and great job. 👍
That’s flattering that the owners of the trailer drove all that way to have you do the work! Nice job on the ramps but I wish you would’ve tapered the ends and gotten rid of those rank, sharp corners. They look like some real tire side wall getters to me! Additionally, I truly do appreciate the time and effort that you put into these videos and I know, for sure, that it’s a headache I wouldn’t want.
Hang in there CB, welding has been my career for the last 10 years. I started a business this year and I know the struggle. Thank you for all the content, I always enjoy your videos! We all have something to learn from one another and I appreciate all the tips! Thanks CB!
You're creating a video archive for all future welders and even do it yourselfers. I watch CEE and icweld and others but your videos are more informative at explaining the why as well as the how. Peace brother ✌️
I appreciate all the time and effort you put into your Videos i always learn something new watching your channel. It's great to learn from a talented Fabricator, Welder, and Businessman. Thanks for sharing your knowledge C.B.
To the Host of NBSWELDING: Your a dam good soldier with excellent "G" rated content with no B S and no VOODOO. I became a subscribed fan earlier this year when I procured an ARCCAPTAIN 200 back in Feb 2024. I was interested in reviews and NBSWELDING was the first and subbed after viewing review video. Thank you now and for ALL future video presentations. An old welder down south here in Arizona
Great tips, great work. Keep it coming... (You're welcome for my contribution to the algorithm) Although I'm not a fan of the self-tappers for anything that is going to be removed and re-installed over time. But as you said, this leaves the customer options to drill out and bolt later if desired. And now that I think about what you did, over-size drilling the holes, its more like a tapped hole with bolts in it now. Disregard my comment about the self-tappers use in this application, I'll show myself out...
Nice work. I really like the content, and i also like watching other skilled welders/fabricators problem solve and accomplish the task at hand. Its also nice to see another fellow mountaineer.
You’re one of the best teachers on here by far. If YT and Google wasn’t corrupt and keeping all the creator $ your content and channel would be worth millions. And that’s no exaggeration. One day freedom will ring and you will take home the deserved lion’s share of the funds you actually generate with your content. Please keep showing up to class because we look forward to learning from you 🤙🏻
With my OCD, I'd use a mill to drill and countersink holes in the diamond plate and use stove bolts into tapped holes in the channel. Also drill through both plates together so they're interchangeable.
I started welding at age 10 at my Dads welding shop. Now at 69 I still weld occasionally and still learn so much from watching your channel! Please keep the videos coming!😊
CB, thanks for sharing. Congratulations on making a New friend. That's no small thing. As Mr. Pete says,' shake a hand and make a friend'. great work and advice, as always. Your experience is invaluable and your work ethic and integrity is to be admired. I for one appreciate your efforts. I usually wear a button down shirt for work ( engineering technologist ) but I rocked your t-shirt the other day. Not one negative comment!! ( I am the old grumpy guy). Keep up the great work and take heart. Your doing great
Hey CB and Tina, I’ve been a subscriber for a long time. Love the videos and tips. I’m a red seal welder up in Ontario Canada. Keep up the awesome work and hopefully people will listen and subscribe and at minimum hit that thumbs up to help you guys out!!
I like your videos and learn something every time. Note to the young, try and learn at least one new thing every day. This channel is a great place to start.
Thanks for edumacatin me on how the utube stuff works. I watch all your stuff, now I'll make a better effort to comment. I appreciate you laying out your thought process in fabricating stuff. Well done.
Hey CB! I found your channel when I was looking up Arccaptain welders. I could tell you were an honest, hard working guy and trusted you enough to pull the trigger on a MIG 200. I love that welder and I love your channel brother. Keep on doozin!
Thabk you again for the great content!!! In the past I've spot welded heavy guage expanded steel over ramps, cut the width about 1/4 inch short to keep it close to flush. Over time no matter what the stuff bends and the spots break. This is a far better solution.
CB….I’m subscribed, hit the like button most always because you’re one of the best, especially when you give those tips and explain your rationale for doing something the way you do. I rate your videos better than most on youtube, and right in the same group with on fire welding, IC Welds, etc. I’m across the mountain from you in Va. I appreciate the skills you demonstrate, and I like seeing repairs made and how you go about them! Thank you for your efforts. This newer welder is learning from your content!
Glad you said something. I watch a ton of your videos but had no idea that I wasn't subscribed because YT serves them to me as the top 5 or 6 in the feed. Appreciate your work, CB. I'm a fabricator out in Oklahoma and have learned a bunch.
Looks sharp! Good thing you supported it with the angle; and it'll probably be ok for a mower or 4-wheeler.....but I've got concerns about anything heavier than a car- My Dad owned a truck and hauled cars (coast-coast). The ramps were AL, but were 1/4" + thick; and I don't recall what we were loading, but they were bent/damaged a couple of times. Keep up the good work and videos, thanks!
I have been subscribed for quiet a while and always like the video right after opening it before even watching it. Made my first and so far only comment on youtube under the " FIRETRUCK WINCH PART 3 " video. Sorry CB, didnt know that comments are important as well in this youtube game. Will leave a "Support CB by leaving a comment!" comment under every video from now on!
Mass produced trailers from trailer manufacturers sell for about half of what it would cost to hire me to build just one trailer but if someone would pay for it I'd do it....that would be awesome
Hey CB, Great start on the trailer. The stiffening angle down the center and across the ends is a great idea. You brought up some things I was unaware of on trailer deck screws and that is once you run them in they will ruin the threads if you remove them. I was thinking of them while you were talking about attaching the diamond plate aluminum. I thought the counter sunk heads would keep something from hanging up as it was being dragged up the ramp. When you mentioned bolts, nuts and washers, I had an idea for maybe the future since channel has a taper on the inside of the flange and it wouldn't work for this application. I've welded nuts to the back side of metal plate that was too thin to tap threads into. MC offers oversize nuts where 1/4" nuts that usually take a 7/16" wrench will take a 1/2" wrench. It gives you a little bit more metal to weld to without burning through the nut. Subscribed and like from the beginning.
I really like the way you are teaching us all of your little tricks of the trade
Stay tuned
