May i ask why? Is your hair color treated now unlike your pic?
Just saying cause I used heavy protein deep conditioners bi weekly and noticed it was a bit too much even for my color treated hair.
I just hope you aren't over doing it.

@@iateyursandwiches no my hair isn’t color treated and my profile picture is like 4 years old btw. My hair does fine with that amount of protein, everyone’s hair is different. Most protein deep conditioners aren’t as strong protein treatments.

Aphogee really worked for me. I had extreme damage after hilights and my hair was looking like tumbleweed. Aphogee really brought my curls and bounce back. I use it every 6 weeks and I also use Olaplex 1 and 2 once a month and step 3 once a week. My favorite deep conditioners are Shea moisture high porosity masque in the blue tub and the creme of nature pure honey hair mask.

Thank you for this video. I need a strong protein treatment and i've been having trouble. The SheaMoisture Protein treatment isn't really a protein treatment it only has one protein it's more moisturizing. The mielle one is more of amino acids than proteins but for my curls it's more of a light protein for me. I haven't tried miche but it looks more on the moisture protein balance. I want to try the curl junkie one.

Great video! I also have to be careful with protein. My hi-po has gradually been shifting to more normal-po as healthier hair has been growing in and I've been DC'ing, getting fewer foils for my highlights, and stopped using heat, but I have medium density with very fine strands and bc they're fine they can't take too much protein. I've had protein overload and also over-moisturized to compensate, so I sympathize, Tay. I've learned that Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein; Hydr. Silk; Amino Acids are generally small, gentle, soft proteins, and Hydrolyzed Collagen and Keratin are bigger molecules that make my hair coarser and if I use too much, my strands will try to boing right back into my head. (😂 but its no joke when it's happening, right!?) If the proteins are near the end of the ingredients it's better for me, and I have learned for next time that if it says "use a quarter size" (I'm looking at you, SM Manuka & Yogurt, but it's a great DC 👀), um, they don't mean 'a quarter of the tub' 😂! Panthenol (Vitamin B5, and as in the name 'Pantene') is a moisturizer that can coat strands but is generally mild. It can build up if you layer more on every day, but it's water-soluble so nothing to worry about. Rice water has a percentage of protein, I think somewhere between 10-20% (Hope this long-a** comment helps!)
For protein DC's I do love & had great results with the above-mentioned SM Manuka & Yogurt and might try mixing a bit into other ones, like the Manuka & Mafura (my usual go-to) which does have a some of the gentler protein in it. I have used Aveda's Damage Remedy Treatment in the past & it's good (but not CG if anyone cares about that; their Dry Remedy Treatment has no protein and they are good to alternate). I also like Kinky Tresses' DC but the fragrance lingers a little too much for my liking. I might try Miche when I start running low on DC's. Would love to see a stylers video! I learned about how my hair reacts to the protein Collagen last summer after Ouidad has been tinkering with the formulas in its gels 🙄. Have ordered your tss-tss-tss refresher, Tay, can't wait to try! Thanks, Beauties! 💕💕💕

Great video!! I remember using the ApHogee 2 step liquid system and using the blow dryer for heat and my hair was hard. It was intimidating, but I'm glad we have more options now. I used that when I was transitioning from chemically relaxing my hair to eventually big chop my hair. I've been relaxer free and curly hair for about 5 years. Miche has been on my list for a good minute. I might give them a try.🙂

I've learned that since my hair is naturally medium to high porosity, I need protein every wash day. What I do now is making sure I have a balance of moisture and protein. So it's as follows: Moisture (pre-poo), protein ( first shampoo ), Moisture (second shampoo), protein (deep condish), moisture (leave-in ) and last but not least protein in my gel.

    1. Aphogee 2-step protein treatment (intense, blow drying needed)
    2. Aphogee hair strengthening kit (less intense)
    3. CurlJunkie Repair me! (Serious, but not like Aphogee)
    4. SheaMoisture Manuka Honey and Yogurt Mask (moisturizing, nice beginner treatment, good for protein-sensitive)
    5. CurlJunkie Beauticurls Leave-in hair conditioner, or strengthening hair conditioner
    6. Briogeo Don’t despair, repair deep conditioning hair mask (big results in 3 uses, good for protein-sensitive)
    7. Soultanicals Afrotastic (moisturizing, very light protein)
    8. Miche STRENGTHEN Protein Deep Conditioner (bottom line get this one, but not available on stores website).
    9. Soultanicals Sprout follicular rice tonic, and rice water treatments

I was scared to death the first (and that was the last time) I used the two step Aphogee treatment. I just knew I was going to snap off a curl. Lol. I am low porosity so I always thought I was protein sensitive, but in 2019 I discovered that my hair likes a little protein and I started noticing how much nicer my hair was when I used a protein DC. I have used the Ouidad Meltdown Repair mask, I don't remember if there was protein in it or not, I only remember my neck being hot, but it is a good treatment. I think it is considered an elasticity treatment. My top protein DC are Miche, CRN Protein Treatment (green label, around the world collection), Mielle Mint, Hask Coconut/Monoi Moisture/Protein DC, and Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair. When I finish the Briogeo DC I will not be repurchasing it because I think Miche is just as good. Thanks for sharing. I miss watching your weekly video's.

Michelle Andre I ❤️ Curls and Potions. The shampoos are clarifying to my mane. Love all the Chebe products. ❤️ the stylers. I have 2 many products to list.... Great products great customer service. If you ❤️ aryuveda inspired hair products you have found it !

My hair just will not have it if I use a protein deep conditioner or even a light protein deep conditioner. I’m just going to have to stick to using hydrolyzed proteins in my stylers & not layer them or over do them. My hair is just so freaking finicky it’s so annoying 😒🙄

What happens when you are protein sensitive. It has softened my hair, but scalp it a little itchy

how you eat influences the quality of new hair growth, so i believe that you should keep up the protein treatments on your length
