As a Paramedic seeing this, that was actually crazy to watch. The electricity could have arched through your body stoping your heart in the process since both your hands were on the machine. Very lucky there was some insulation to stop it. I would always recommend having 2 of you on the jobsite and carrying an automatic external defibrillator in your truck for emergencies. Be trained in cpr and basic first aid. Super lucky al. I've seen where some aren't as lucky as you. Very blessed to say the least.

Electricity can be some scary stuff, gotta respect it for sure, Al is very lucky indeed. Just as was a co-worker of mine, he had his keys in his keys we used at work, he was shutting down the main breaker if the engines we used that night, his keys made contact with the knife switch. The electricity shot through him, down his leg, he’s lucky he was standing on a thick rubber padding on the floor, or it may have been worse. This was just the power from the batteries to start up the prime mover, and for other items, had it been the 480 volts used to power the passenger cars, the outcome would have been much different.

In 'Canada's Worst Handyman' show they gave the contestants an electrical challenge and told them the crew turned off the power to their work areas during the demo. The contestants then went back to their rooms and started working immediately at which point the host and experts went to each and chastised them for not checking the power first. One contestant said they thought it was okay cause they said the power was off, the host told him "It doesn't matter what you think when your dead."

My pawpaw used to work for a telephone company as a lineman a long time ago.
One day he ended up getting into a power line and got electrocuted. And these are high voltage stuff. Usually residential receive about 120-240v, large commercial receives around 277-480v. the stuff he got into was about 375v I believe…
As the two guys that was with him was trying to bring him down the pole, his harness got caught on one of the spikes.
They tried and tried to get him untangled and wasn’t having much luck. They was about to cut the harness and let him drop to the ground when they pulled really hard one last time, keep in mind my pawpaw wasn’t breathing at all and a lot of time had passed trying to get him untangled. When they pulled the last time he took a deep breath in.
Knowing that he was alive they eventually was able to get him down the pole and to the hospital.
Thanks to the greatness and mercy of the Lord above, he made a full recovery and kept on working and providing for his family like it never happened…
The Lord definitely was watching over him that day, and he was definitely watching over you on this job here.

@@EastCoastGamingHFX not true. in the story he said that he was stuck up there and they saw him breathing. they did not use a defibrillator or cpr also even if they did that doesn’t mean he was dead. for a defibrillator to work there still needs to be cardiovascular activity meaning your heart is beating very slowly or faintly and the machine shocks your heart back into rhythm. cpr is essentially doing the same thing but not as well what cpr is great for though is keeping your blood circulating. it is not medically possible to bring someone back from the dead however with modern medicine and advancement over the past 80 years we have gotten really good at stopping people from dying completely.

Always treat power drops like a gun, assume they're loaded and ready to shoot. If you don't know what you're looking at, find someone that does. If you only got one leg from the power drop, its 120v, but problem is that its straight out of the transformer! So no breakers unless the transformer dip switch blows... Amps could be around 250! That's enough to blow your feet clean off...! Lots of guys in the phone company have died making the assumption things weren't hot.

This is my first time seeing one of your videos. It was awesome and terrifying all at once. I want to tell you a true story about a man I know. When he was 26 years old he was the manager of 7 food concession units. Six, were roll offs placed using a massive forklift. Each one was 8' square. Each of these units were fed approximately 250000v. Part of the man's job was hooking up the power to each of his units. It was drizzling out, the ground was wet, yet he successfully set up all of the six roll offs. Now each unit was supplied via 4, 1/2" copper wires. Each end of the wire had a 3/4" locking cam encased in a specific color rubber. Green, White, Black, Red. The "sow" aka generator, was in full displacement, it was pushing millions of volts. I don't know how many exactly. The man was using a headlamp with a white beam. Just as he was ready to set up his largest unit, a 26' trailer powered by around 750000v his head lamp quit. Frustrated as I was, yes this miracle story is about me, I went in search of a friend who might loan me his. The time is approximately 130am. I was cursing the weather, the time but NEVER one of my 30 employees, and just felt like damn!. But I got families of employees that depend on my operations running smoothly and efficiently. So I sucked it up, I knelt down, turned on the lamp but did not recognize the yellow hue, I picked up what I saw was the ground cam and went to plug it in and the very second my hand carried it to the piglet I saw the mistake, I had made but it was too late, I remember a three inch spark. Witnesses, all 250 odd people present. Said the night turned brilliant white for a 1 mile radius and the subsequent explosion shattered windows nearby. I was thrown in an arc approximately 36' long and 16' off the ground to be slammed with such force into the very unit I was supplying that it lifted the 30000 lb trailer onto two wheels before slamming back down throwing my lifeless body ten feet away. Let me stop here to tell you that 1 month before I had taught my employees CPR. When the trailer flipped up it dislodged the coka cola syrup containers hitting one of my employees in the leg and dislocated his knee, he said to me later we saw you die but we had to try so i slammed my leg back into place and within seconds we flipped you over in it was obvious at that moment you were gone but we began CPR anyway with no though that you could not be saved. I watched the employees flip me over and the two did not stop for over twenty minutes till an ambulance arrived. Only then did they relent in their efforts. The EMT hit me with the electrical thingy and got a nearly non-existent pulse, very erratic, the 15 minute drive saw my heart stop for 3 more minutes. When I was wheeled into the emergency room,I was hooked up to everything, and it was determined that I was comatose with zero brain activity. They put me on life support and on a minute by minute observation. Around six hours later my heart stopped again and for 7 minutes they worked frantically short of putting hands on my heart before they rebooted it. At this point. The doctor said to contact my family for consent to remove me from life support because as he understood things, taking everything into account, I was not going to be able to survive. On my own. And if I did I would most likely live in a bed for the rest of my life. He at the point took me off the bed watch. 35 minutes later I woke up. I didn't recognize my surroundings, I removed all the tubes, IVs, and wires from my body. And had jumped out of the bed and naked as the day I was born I was, according to all who were present standing as a wild-eyed feral demon in the form of a man and everything around me was a weapon. Not one individual approached me. They were terrified. Each of them, knowing, that not only would I kill but that it was only an act of a divine power that I was standing and communicating so effectively. Each of them knows that NO one has ever recorded a survivor of what i had experienced. This was Only God's will I was not lucky, only blessed. You were NOT lucky, you were being watched over by my father GOD in heaven. God bless you always and keep up the fantastic work.❤

You bring up an interesting subject. As homes deteriorate without owners, squatters damage the structures, storms go through, people may also try to make unauthorized/off code connections to have utilities...all this adds-up to the potential of running across unsafe situations. Very glad you had some help keeping you from running into a full disaster. With tree trimming, we were told to examine yards for where lines run through the air, through plants (which can conduct power by contact or proximity), etc. We've all seen vines wrap along lines as well. 12:54 all this doesn't detract from the fact you are recovering the form of this yard and giving a needed assist to the neighborhood. It seems like the workers said that the house was permitted to be repaired, so your boost of a cleanup should be helpful all-around.

He got the kitty there, named it Esby & raised a bunch of money for the rescue, thereby saving the rescue & a bunch more animals. One news report said the rescue had been super close to having to close due to lack of money before he arrived. So he saved the kitty, the rescue & a bunch of other animals with the help of his awesome viewers. This yard is a good example of where I recommend people mow a couple of strips along the street, driveway, and sidewalks, shooting the grass up into the yard first and then edge. That way you’re not cutting through so much grass when you’re edging, saving lots of time. There’s also less cleanup. If you do it right, and blow the grass from edging into the yard where it hasn’t been cut, you only have to blow everything off, once.
    I do this every week.

That doesn’t make sense that god takes care of good people. So when a child dies from cancer or drowns then that child isn’t a good person? Why does a bad person, like a drunk driver, survive an accident after killing others? Your logic is mind boggling.

@@chasetonga that’s not what I meant at all… God has a plan for each of our lives and although we don’t always understand or agree why we have to trust His plan. I’m sorry that’s all you took away from my comment. God is good ALWAYS and He doesn’t promise a perfect life He only promises that He will be with us through the good and bad. Al could have died very easily but obviously that wasn’t Gods plan. I will pray for you and the hurt inside your heart that made u make that comment 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻. I love you friend♥️

@@pamgriffith1937 That is not what your comment sounded like. Pray for me all you want, but it won’t matter. I AM a good person without god. I don’t need well wishers to give me any sort of security or confidence. I know how I live my life is the right way, without the indoctrination. I’m a way better person than religious people and their hypocrisy.
Just an FYI, religion (Catholics and Protestants) screwed my family over during WWII, so guess what? Religion lost out on generations of my family.
Why is your religion any better than other religions, or no religion at all anyway? The most abhorrent things about religion is indoctrination, grifting for money and pedophilia. Weak minded people let someone else tell them what they should think. It’s just sad.

Glad you are ok! Don’t assume anything! Also I recommend that next time you are in a neighborhood and nobody answers the door you should tape a small note to each adjacent property with a quick blurb about what you’re doing and a link to your channel. Would help keep people in the know.

Al, God was watching out for you. My Cousin was on a big machine, I don't know what it's called. Him and another man were on it. A storm rolled in from nowhere. My Cousin told the other man to jump, then my Cousin did but part of his hand touched the metal just as lightning hit the machine. #1. My Cousin is very lucky to be alive, God was watching out for him as well. He was in the hospital for quite awhile. He lost some fingers on that hand and the lightening went through his body and out of his foot. He also lost 3 toes. He still has pain to this day and that was over 5 years ago, maybe even 10 years. He jokes about it. His name is Joe and people call him 2 toe'd Joe. I still call him Joey. Al, I am so glad you are okay.
