- Her yard hasn't been cut in years, she said she gets city violations weekly and they threatened to take her house away. funny, I was just looking at that same mower for my yard, (Im getting too old for this) and the hills are a bit much, any idea how it does on slight hills? I cant see using a zero turn ryder for my hills. My 17hp riding mower does alright, just wears me out

My neighbor is 82 and still teaches, one of her sons lives with her but does nothing outside the house, the other borrowed her mower and never brought it back. I’ve been cutting her yard for 3 years because she was being overcharged when she paid someone. I don’t charge her but she will randomly bring over some Omaha Steaks or fresh cookies.

I would say that many people are not good neighbors or community oriented. It's all about them and intentionally causing trouble for others
I came here to say the exact same thing. You'd think her neighbor would help. I understand it costs money for gas, oil and upkeep and I'd be willing to bet if asked the lady would have offered to pay for gas or just for mowing it. This is awesome that she has now had her yard mowed.

And the homeowner said prior people tried to mow & their mowers broke. The Toro handled it just fine! You made a huge difference in that lady's life. You may have saved her from having a heart attack. Maybe someone can maintain it for her now that you got it under control. I hate it when the homeowner is threatened with the loss of their home by the city. I'm sure you are an angel in her eyes. Keep up the good work!

When the neighbors are all aging, it isn’t easy for any of them. I mowed my lawn for years and I enjoyed it, but I’m not able now so I hire it done and it isn’t cheap. Fortunately, I only have to worry about it four and a half months each year.
That’s quite the mower in the hands of an master mower giving people hope/help with their seriously over grown yards. Great work Al ❗️

I may have said this before, but I think it would be neat to collaborate with a small engine repair channel in your area to get these folks mowers going again so those that are physically able can keep up with it after you get it cleaned up! Love the content!

@@lightwavz my neighbor would pick up mowers from the side of the road, get em running again. and sell them for parts and a little extra. he one time had a mower that was maybe a year or so old and the owners just left it out in yard [much like the one we see unearthed in this video but a slightly bigger one ] so rain and the elements got to it and it wouldn't run anymore. he ripped apart the engine block. cleaned it and the carb, put it all back together, and sold it for a really nice profit because it was basically brand new. and the yard he picked it up from was cutting the yard at that moment with ANOTHER brand new one. senseless to me. take care of your machines and they'll take care of you. can't pay someone to do the yearly maintenance? can't blame you. go to the hardware store and change out the plug, the oil and the plug every year. DON'T cut grass when it's super wet and it'll last a lonnnng time.
I'm on year 6 with my current mower. Toro of course. still running the original plug believe it or not though I do need to change it. the one before that was one that my uncle did a refurb on and gave to us. a toro that was probably 4-5yrs old when he got it, and lasted us another 20..25years.
Jeez, he's doing great things. Amazes me that people sitting back watching say "hey, do one more thing why doncha!"
Fixing those lawnmowers won't do a thing for these folks. They need better equipment. And probably better health too.

I might have kept a couple out front, but just get rid of all of them on the side of the house. Unless you have the time to maintain them and cut all the grass and weed growing inside of them, they will just look bad. It would look so much nicer on the side of the house to just mow all that down.
Telling him to be careful and save these plants that were buried in weeds was just a little rude, considering that he was doing all this for free.
I agree about the snake plants. They multiply and you can’t clean or weed eat the grass out do them. The majority should have been removed like one fellow said and perhaps leave a few up front for show. But that’s for another video and requires hauling off detritus.

This is great stuff. Use to work with a landscaping company for about three years. There was this older man and his wife whose house we did every two weeks. He was diagnosed with brain cancer and was struggling to pay through that. Once we discovered that we talked to our boss and he agreed with us that we'd do his yard free from them on out. I was there when my coworker told him that. The look on his face and tears in his eyes is something I'll never forget

@@safsult I don’t have that authority where I work so I don’t know. My understanding is it’s nearly universal practice to always give warnings before fines/liens, and always accrue lots of liens before a repossession. In extreme cases some houses could be deemed unsafe or unlivable by the government, so the grass may only be one minor issue of many problems, which is not uncommon.

There's going to be something or other going on for a person who doesn't keep up their yard. That makes them vulnerable. Do you really want the city telling them to get in touch with someone because he said he'd help? What if it turns out he takes advantage of them in some way? What if he gets hurt? Surely you can understand that cities can't recommend or endorse people they haven't vetted, contracted, or insured.
Going through the city is just not the way to do a good deed like this.

It’s human to human contact. We ALL need that! And his loving, giving heart is particularly gifted at this. He’s just a walking blessing 24/7. And this dear overwhelmed lady is now truly overwhelmed with blessing. No doubt she spent hours just walking around afterwards to see things and plants she hasn’t been able to get to and see in years.
This one was definitely a tearjerker Al. This woman was in such need, of the service you provide. The relief you have lifted off her shoulders, was palpable. God bless you Al. @ivanel.. I 100% agree with your statement. It always good if someone makes money under win-win-win theory. That means both person A and B win with whatever their business is, but that win also benefits the society at large. That is of course the ideal way to earn and make a living in a society. I think this video is perfect example of this. Person whose lawn is mowed wins the benefit of having a trimmed lawn, person who mows it for free does it for free but then makes money via youtube. People who watch the videos on TH-cam get themselves a lesson that being selfless and kind also pays you back in unseen ways.
That Toro doesn't mess around. It appeared that you only had to mow once over an area and not back and forth. It sure does save time. The mower looks very manoeuvrable, showed when you were going around the 3 thin plants. It also seems to cut so well on the first pass that you didn’t have to redo areas. So glad for the homeowners that you were able to do this.
