I used to play driving sims with a CH Flight Stick as my pedals, having progressive hand control of your brake and throttle actually made me pretty competitive. The only reason I stopped using it was it was a game port stick and newer computers didn't support it.
That reminds me, what ever happened to Rob Parsons, I haven't seen him since the Hoonigan shop videos. He was doing some amazing things with a hand controlled cars.
I am stoked to see all aspects of racing, great shyt Larry and to Torsten, you’re an inspiration. Not just your ability to overcome, but my son’s name is also Thors Stone(meaning of Torsten for those unknowing). You’re a perfect namesake.
Have seen Torsten at Lime Rock many times, I think he lives there? :) Always a super nice welcoming guy. I am not in the group he runs, he is actually fast :D I have however run with people using his other hand control car, very cool that he is putting people on track
Hey I got a really awesome shot of this car at my first ever race event! It was at the 24 hour classic in Daytona. Wish I could post it here , may be my favorite pic I’ve taken thus far
my job is installing adaptations like these. I've put hand controls like them in an M3 Touring, M4, V8 mustang, E30s and a Ford Capri. Pretty cool seeing it done like this!
As someone who just recently broke my neck and was paralyzed (2 years ago) I have a race car inspired Ferrari sitting in my garage that I’ve been trying to figure out how to set up hand controls. This guy is an inspiration and gave me ideas for my car. I also appreciate that he has a broken neck I can tell because of his hand function. His injury is clearly pretty severe. This guy is a bad ass!
Real c5-c6 quadriplegic here. Mad props to Torston still living the dream! Hard not to sound envious, BUT man, if only I had use of my hands, arms and body from the waist up, I would also be unstoppable! Instead, I’m currently stuck in a rehab facility, using my sisters screen name cause TH-cam’s hating and doesn’t agree with my opinions… Peggy is beautiful, but R.I.P. to my MR2 with a swapped jdm 3sgte the only woman I miss…
Enormous, and I mean just galaxy size respect to the driver !! This is simply insane, I am not physically disabled but understood that I am a huge p*ssy compared to this man! Very inspirational, may god bless you with 100 years of life, health and happiness, huge greetings 🫂
My mom just told me a kid at her work is in a wheelchair, I instantly thought of this vid. I asked if he drove, I want to make him a car thatd be fun. Cheers
Larry or whoever does your titles… please please do a little proofreading. You spend the time featuring this inspiring man, but get quadriplegic vs paraplegic confused…
it's definitely a mistake many make. It can be hard to differentiate between a quad and a para. I am a C6 with C8 functionality, so I am relatively close to a para function-wise. But thanks for seeing that! Impressive.
It's a common misperception. A Quad has 4 compromised limbs. I am a C6 Quad (I am the one in the video) and have limed-to-no use of my fingers. Thus, 4 limbs (including my legs obviously). Paraplegics have 2 limbs compromised (2 legs) but fingers work.
Actually, Quad is correct (I am the one in the video). I am a C6 Quad, which means 4 limbs compromised: my fingers don't work. Paraplegic means 2 limbs (and breaking your back) and your fingers work. It's a common misconception as they can look fairly similar.
@@TorstenGross-cd2kf something about using a medium to long length multi position toggle instead of a button that's as small as the one in your 🍑 so it'd be easier for you to flick in prototype version 2 but I'm looking for a job at the moment so this is a much cleaner less HR offending version of that or my v2.0 if you will.
"LOOK MA, NO FEET!"
What a great bumper sticker, this dude got a great sense of humor! 😂😂😂
Saw these guys at an HPDE at Thompson and they were giving everyone else a run for their money. Incredible

What a guy. The amount of time and effort to put all that together would be immense.

pretty sure he’s still around…googled his instagram and still looks some what active lol

This video was awesome, gives me some insights on hand control mods i can apply for myself.
As a stroke survivor, completely inspired by this video. 🧡

Awesome dude. Genius. As able as anyone else. With his own touch.
Brave man ✌😎

This is so awesome. Is there any info on the front splitter?

Where’s some in car race footage??
Nice. Now come to Poland and check no hands, only feet drifter - Bartosz Ostałowski
There’s a female wheelchair drifter out there too with a custom car setup he name is Christina Vithoulkas

I thought quadriplegic was loss of all four limbs?

Try that with a bike...
Love this guy's commitment bad ass
I dont like that handle on steering wheel
I think you can go ahead and shut your mouth. He’s clearly doing what works for him.
Paraplegic… Quadriplegic would mean he’s paralyzed from the neck down.
