I’ve worked construction for 15 years. I thought I was in pretty good shape until my first full track day. People who say racers aren’t athletes have never been behind the wheel
It's just a different kind of fitness. I've been racing for nearly 17 years, stage rally for the last 2. I ran distance stuff in highschool but nothing since. I'm 135lbs at 5'11" skin and bone. No issues getting through a day or two of racing
I love drifting, but grip driving a purpose built race car is a humbling experience both in how much strength and endurance it requires and how much you pay for even tiny mistakes and I would do it all the time if I could afford it.
Nice to see a Ligier in America, being from France and working in a team it's a blast to see those cars runing (even tho the gearbox is pure garbage reliability wise).
I found Larry’s comment interesting. I would recommend perhaps trying to get to driving by sound. I can’t remember the last time I looked at a tach while driving at the track. Sure the 1st time ever in a car perhaps concentrate on your senses and hopefully by next session or two no longer an issue.
It's been a few years since I've been there but Motorsport Ranch has exploded in size the last few years. There used to be a really good BBQ place in the Texaco too.
Just to be clear: the car *does* have a redline, it just doesn't have downshift protection. In practice this is not an issue due to how close the gears are - we have not seen issues in the real-world. You can bounce off the 11,800 rpm limiter.
Rush SR - $100/hr Wolf - $800/hr Radical SR10 - $1000/hr LMP4 - $2000/hr What accounts for the large differences? Engine rebuild cost/frequency? Cheap tires/brakes?
The shorter hair looks good on you Mr. Chen! Plus, it makes you look younger too! And I hope you like it too because I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks so! I've always 'liked' your videos and content, but finally subscribed today because of this video's subject matter, overall production, insightful questions, et cetera is much better! This Rush SR sounds like a very good way to get into real racing, and at only 1/10th the cost of a Radical in consumables it sounds like a true bargain! Is this the cheapest way of getting into real racing?
The Cost of making something Road legal I'm guessing reflects the cost. New Car pricing or Radical SR1 or $240,000 for the BAC Mono. These Rush SR track cars really seem too good to be true and the best option for people getting track experience. I hope these guys are around for all time
And old employee of mine went and worked for Rush, lied on his reusme and was supposedly to be marketing/sales for them. Hes no longer around, the downfall was real
It’s cool but definitely not worth no mf 40k. I would rather buy an older ek or like an old Subaru or something and spend 20-25k on building it. You can’t even drive that SR on the road everyday. I could buy a super sick 40k Honda or 2g eclipse like just something with a lot more use. Now if I was a rich man that didn’t work just ran a couple businesses yeah definitely no problem! But honestly I’d still would rather put that 40k towards actual like SCCA racing.

@@ifearnothing0Hell yeah
It was great having you out! Thank you for the picture of the evo!!!
You are such a great story teller. I get immersed every episode. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Physical fitness and staying hydrated is key to race prep.
You can trail brake it, but you have to recalibrate how much brake you're used to using. You have to trail brake it to be fast.
Awesome team at Rapscallion! Great video. 😊

You did great Larry, thanks for coming out and running laps with us. See you 2025!!!!
Sounds like fun!
So much fun!
Put some tape over the gear indicator display. Just watch the lights...stay in the green light zone and shift in yellow.

Wow man that looks like a good time !

TJ Hunt just finished a 8hr race there last weekend.
Yep, he did great!

this is awesome and i'm sooo inspired for my hypermicro concept by this.

Radical SR10 - $1000/hr

Mostly the tires, the powerful cars can probably eat a whole set of very expensive sticky tires in 1 hour of all-out track time.

More Evo content! Let's see that collection he's talking about

Man i want to go to this class so bad .. pump up the NM on your sim magic sim rig to build up your steering arms.
❤👍
sick!
What funn those things are
Sugoi!
Larry you need to race a Radical
😮
For a car designed for more amateur drivers it should really have a rev limiter
And old employee of mine went and worked for Rush, lied on his reusme and was supposedly to be marketing/sales for them.
