These scenes with the Pharisees are brilliantly conceived and executed.
I've watched both seasons several times and I have to say the episode with the older disciples and mother Mary still gets me... great job to everyone involved! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

For some reason just listening to you talk about John trying to write things down and the death of his brother and the apostles being older got to me too. Had to grab a few tissues. Think I’ll go back and re-watch that ep. Love these behind the scene videos.
I continue to be in awe at how the Lord is moving in and through all of you to bring The Chosen’s compelling portrayal of Jesus to the world. Your faithfulness to the Bible is so evident, bringing its truths to life. At times, with inspiring power. At times, with palpable human texture and gentle grace. With creative imagination that honors the intention (and intentionality) of the Word - both written and Living. Even your descriptions here, Dallas, of how you were led to particular nuances as you envisioned these backstories, brought me to tears. It is so clear to me that the Holy Spirit is leading you... and I am so grateful you are following Him with such passionate devotion. Surely The Chosen is the defining moment of your lifetime - the destiny you have been created you fulfill. Thank you from my heart-of-hearts for glorifying the Lord with every scene, and for testifying to His saving and transforming love with every piece of content you produce.
The scene with the older Disciples made it so much more real. Well done. I appreciate the work that you put into this, like seriously everything I needed. Can't wait to see more episodes. Thanks again
Unpopular opinion: I think Shmuel is a way more threatening villain than Quitnus...
In my opinion, Shmuel is more of the vocal villain. Quintus feels more ominous due to his voice, his lines and how he’s basically pulling the strings all together 👀👀
A bit late but here are my thoughts, I think Shmuel is a good depiction of the “good intentions” villain, after all, he believes what he is doing is to protect God’s original message. But even he seems to be a bit concerned about how the other Pharisees take his information and use it for politicking amongst themselves rather than for what he intended.
Quintus on the other hand is just like a military dictator/authoritarian type villain, purely focused on efficiency, order and results with maybe a bit of insecurity due to how he reacted to the stampede ruining his reputation with the rest of the leadership.

All the actors in The Chosen are so perfect for the parts they play. I liked Simon Z from his first scene with his brother Jesse - such love was shown and such heartbreak at seeing Jesse's condition. Atticus' character adds such intrigue to the show. Can't wait to see His development! I look forward to interviews with both of these actors - I hope soon!

I feel the same way. I think in every episode, I say abt each one that's in that episode 'he/she's my fav'. I feel so fickle, but it's proven to me that I have a deep love and appreciation for each and every one of them.
I like them all, but I connect with Mary Magdeline, Matthew and "Doubting" Thomas most. Very talented cast. Jonathan is wonderful.

Older Matthew's beard is so majestic in that scene. I know that's not the most important thing at all... but I appreciated it.

This is my favorite BTS that Dallas has ever done. When he recapped S2, E1, I got tears in my eyes just like I did when I watched the episode. I memorized John 1:1-14 a few years ago but since the premier of S2 E1 on Easter Sunday this year I have recited it every morning so I don’t let it disappear from my memorized verses. Absolutely beautiful. I cry every time I think about it. I couldn’t even talk about it for over a week after I’d seen it without tearing up. Such a beautiful, emotional episode.

I was 5 years of chronic illness! I was Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. I couldn't even look at electronic screen for 5 minutes, or hold a 10-minute conversation.
But God did an amazing work.
I now have a Christian Channel where I encourage people and show them what God did in my life and that there is hope for you also. ✝️🔥😊🙌🏼

This helped me understand why Mary referred to John as her son and why they were together. I had not caught the fact that it was Big James’s funeral I thought it was after Jesus left the earth. You are teaching this old woman 😇

Very moving scene - a bit disorienting at first, but once I got it, it touched me so greatly to see the disciples and Mother Mary after they'd gone on with the work of spreading the gospel, recalling their time with Jesus - so very precious.

I found myself holding my breath, while also having a huge lump in my throat as I watched the scene where they're all older. Absolutely incredible, such a meaningful scene.

I absolutely loved episode 1 of season 2!
The only part I struggled with was Matthew's beard, which looked like he'd been interrupted in the act of eating a hedgehog. :) The rest of the makeup was top notch.

This show never ceases to move. Even the behind the scenes stuff. Which is rare with films unless it's a documentary. The Chosen is truly something of God. And extraordinarily special.
Appreciate the great historical detail, gives a breath of understanding, not heretofore explored in this detail and true to the Bible narrative.

Thank you for all the behind the scenes plotting and preying. It explains a lot that is only slightly touched in the Bible. People who are unaware of the ways and customs of the people of those days cannot fathom the events that went into the ministry and life of our Saviour, Jesus, we can only imagine. You bring these things to life for us who have little or no or even too much imagination. You are blessed. Keep up the fabulous work.

My nephew was doing some moves like Simon the Zealot, and seeing this video. I had to show it to him. My nephew is 6 almost seven and pretty smart for his age. He has been schooling me in Godzilla characters. I kept hinting that I really wasn’t interested, but he was insisting it was important I learn all the Godzilla characters. I am going to try to get him interested in the Choaen. I bet he would like Episodes 4 of season 2.

These 2 actors playing the Pharisees are easily becoming favorite characters. They play annoying and goofy antogonists.

The writing and acting of this show is so powerful that even the actors are feeling the true weight of what actually happened. Soon, the entire world will know the Gospel. Matthew 24:14 -

I feel like I lost someone who truly important to my life watching season 2 episode 1.
Beautifully done by all you folks. Thank you. It is my understanding that, after initial airing of S2E1, you decided to re-do one line to make more clear that the martyred disciple was big James. Good call as I was a little too confused and distracted for a while. And yes, Mathew's beard was kinda funny looking--but some men do grow such bushy beards.
There is a 2nd Division patch on one of the camaras on your set. We are just curious who's the veteran from the 2nd Division. My father in law served with this division in the WW11.
