- Are you an aspirant for the patent agent exam? Do you find it difficult to approach the patent drafting questions of Paper 2 of the exam?
In this video, we apply the strategies and techniques that we learnt in the introduction video to a question (Q10) from the previous year's question paper (2018). We approach the drafting question as an Open Book Exam, where all the information is provided, and all you need to know is what information goes into which section of the application
We employed our tricks and strategies to dissect the information given in the question and identify relevant information that can be used to fill in the sections of the patent application such as Title, Field of the invention, Background, Drawings, Detailed Description, Title, Claims and Abstract.
By the end of this video, you will prepare the patent application for the question provided in the question paper.

we we need to add a drawing in the abstract?
No, you only mention figure number which clearly define or illustrate your invention. You write figure number at the end of last line..
Sir can abstract contain number and reference to figure?
Hello Ranjana, Abstract, and Claims should include referral numbers (such as 102, 104, 208...) for any element/component that has been illustrated in figures in the application. For instance in this particular video, you could refer write like this "absorption means (3)" when you refer to this element in claims or abstract.
You don't refer to figure like this, "As illustrated in figure 1.." in abstract.
Once you finish writing abstract, you can mention a figure (out of all the figures) that should be associated with the abstract. Such as FIG1 , FIG 2...whichever best illustrate the invention.
@@AbhayPorwal sir in abstract can we put the number of the component in parentheses just like in claims? In the end can a line be included in abstract saying Fig 1 to be published with abstract…I am asking so as these specifications are mentioned about abstract in Rule 13.
