I have 0.4882ms current timer resolution in ISLC after "bcdedit /set useplatformtick yes", and without "useplatformtick" i have 0.496, what can i do to have 0.50? @Panjno
Texture filtering (Nvidia's panel option) Should be left at "Quality" it's an old setting from the stone age. Setting it to performance will only put stress on your cpu , as it's gonna be doing the optimizations for the GPU. But modern day GPU's have no problem with it being set to Quality. Also Quality looks much better as it isn't touched by optimizations trying to give you 1 fps by butchering the textures.
You deleted my previous suggestions but included them in this video. And btw priority to 6 doesn't have an effect if Scheduling Category is set to High. Also forcing synthetic timers to use 0.5 can often have stuttery effects, same as useplatformtick so I want viewers to be aware and to do research on in-depth tweak forums which will tell you.
Hm that's good info to know. My computer has been suffering from occasional stutters with no apparent reason. I do use ISLC to force 0.5 so I'll have to do some testing. been driving me nuts
@@stewartphillips That would drive me nuts too. Let me know what happens. Windows usually sets Indvidual application timer to 1 anyway so you could try forcing that. Also you could try using park control to disable cpu frequency scaling. Panjno recommended High performance plan but even this still has frequency scaling so maybe download park control. Disabling hpet also introduces stutters but the performance gain is worth it for me.
@@Josh800n Excellent information thanks. I'll play around with all your mentioned 1 by 1 to see what difference they introduce. I'm pretty sure I've had park control before but I recently reinstalled Windows so more testing I shall do
@@stewartphillips If you reset windows and that didn't help it might not be a software problem. I had the same issue and after weeks of testing I just got a new laptop. Obviously don't take the word of a random guy off the internet but you shouldn't have that problem on a default windows setup. The networkthrottlingindex registry key hurt my internet badly for gaming performance. Definitely test it compared to default and you can easily tell the difference. Also if you actually read the Microsoft documentation for the Tasks>Games registry keys, you will find some of what you recommended actually does nothing at all. There also is some research done on Games tasks that shows that actual game applications actually are registering as Audio tasks, not games. I would not recommend changing any of those registry settings as they are not fully understood or tested. I know you want to get those TH-cam views so you get some $$$, but if you are going to recommend changing registry settings, you should at least benchmark with/without them and show the results. Most but not all the registry optimizations here are just hype only and can potentially cause problems during gaming. Just because someone on the internet says it works doesn't mean it does. I've tested many of these for extended periods and also researched them and this guide has some misinformation in it. No offense, but it does. If you have a good pc, you don't need to do alot of things that all these online videos say to do... Optimize windows settings for gaming, optimize your ethernet settings, leave network throttling set to normal, set system responsiveness to 0 or 10, overclock your gpu to something stable and be done with it... when I first got a pc, I used these guides bc I didn't know any better, but what Ive learned is that every pc is different... I've also learned that leaving my nvidia control panel settings to standard stock settings gives me smoother game play than adjusting all of them for high performance... same with windows power plans, I literally get the exact same performance with my power plan set to balanced, as I do if it's set to high performance... I don't see the point in having your pc run high as it can at all times, even when you aren't using it. Using Balanced plans for gpu/cpu also makes my games smoother for some reason. Play around with these things, change 1 thing at a time, and see what works best for you.
@@CiiTy_1 yeah used DDU, turns out, after i done all the stuff, i also updated my driver from ADM 22.10.1 to 22.10.2 and it completely fucked my pc, reverted it back to 22.10.1 and was perfect, werid

We need a proper video on Hpet off, with all commands and proper settings for Win11 and Win10 1909 and after. Does it really help with latency, for me it did.
years ago I started "researching" hpet I read through a 100+ page form with nerds arguing over it, a lot had good opinions on why it's good / bad / worthless I personally found I enjoy it off, it feels like it reduces my input latency when I'm tapping heads
Awesome video, but these are for sure ADVANCED, and the normal everyday user should be cautious before plugging these configurations into their system. I'd highly recommend that anyone considering these changes to do a lot of research beforehand.
Good advice! Also, some setting may have a negative effect. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Troubleshooting that many different settings and apps is a nightmare. Especially if you're not toally clear about what each option involves. I would say that the most important first step is to establish a BASELINE using benchmarking methods before making any changes. When you know how the system behaves, how many FPS you get and the quality of the gameplay is known, decide if anything needs improving. Then, and only then, start thinking about what area to start with and any possible optimizations. Personally, I focus most of the efforts in the settings of the game itself. Do you really need to run in Super Deluxe Ultra High graphics settings? Turn that down to 50% and you may notice that the visual quality is just as good, but the performance has doubled. That's my way to go about it anyway.
@@TheMack Yeah also good advice. A lot of these types of videos don't mean much of anything because he's on a completely different system than you or I or anyone else and could have VERY different outcomes. And I mean VERY different from completely corrupting your system.
Hi Panjno, i know counterstrike 1.6 is a very old game, but hey some of us are still playing it☺, recently i've reinstalled my windows, i've done most of your tweaks for windows performance and stuff, i have mid-high end PC with rtx 3060 12gb + ryzen 5 5600x, my question is: Can you please make a video of what settings we should use for smoothness and performance, i've seen players on twitch playing with 100 fps and 640x480 resolution and game looks so good, any kind of tutorial would be more than welcomed, i'm sure that there's a lot of people interested in this. THANK YOU!
lmao, you can run 1.6 on windows 95 with 100fps bruh don't need any special tweaks set rate 100k CMD 105 update 100 interp 0.01 fps 100 boom you have perfect smooth settings
I did this tutorial, worked amazing, shut my pc off for the night, trying to get on it now, CPU running at 100% with nothing running and i can barely move my mouse across the screen in under a minute. Either your links had a malware or iunno whst on earth would have fucking happened
At 19:33 in your video it says bcdedit /set useplatformtick yes but in the description its given as bcdedit /set useplatformtick no... so which command should I run?
I wouldn't set Intelligent Standby List cleaner to half of your ram. I would put it at maybe 4GB, but even then you will have crashes. If a program is trying to keep some cached files, ISLC will be constantly clearing them for no good reason. It causes aps to crash. It is best just to periodically manually clear things yourself if you notice performance issues.
Following all these steps, it actually introduced frame skipping and actually lowered my FPS overall >.< I am on ryzon mini-pc and using Thunderbolt 3 on a 3060 12gb was working great and now its not. I had to use my restore point.
For AMD do not use its drivers to make a fan curvature since it follows junction temperature instead of current temperature, you should use MSI Afterburner for AMD graphics card to make a fan curvature.
doesnt it destroy the lifespan of the fans to put them already in 100% at 65-70°? like if I play high res games I sometimes get into 80-85°(with 110% power usage via msi afterburner) so it mostly stay at 100% like for some hrs if I play a lot and that straight for months/a year
for now do not upgrade bcs windows 11 is not 100% stable at gaming at least. I had to switch back to windows 10 because i had a lot of issues with windows 11
good video! (like all the others you do) I have a question about the radeon software: Can you use the Radeon Super Resolution to upscale a resolution if are the same time are you using the Virtual Super Resolution?
RSR works to upscale your resolution (if your game is at a lower resolution), while VSR works to downscale your resolution (if your game is at a higher resolution)
dont get me wrong but i think all the registry value changes are a bit sketchy without further explanation. i also doubt they have any effect on gaming performance on a relatively new system, especially with the win11 task scheduling. this will more likely lead to windows problems, system instability and the need to do a new windows installation. a reasonable manual cpu/ram overclock, setting up process lasso and doing the "chris titus tech windows debloat" will help more with gaming performance than all of this together, without causing system instability. most of the settings and changes in the video will not have any effect. gpu overclocking also is most likely not advantageous for most modern games if you are not in a heavy gpu bottleneck. islc is another questionable thing. it only helps if you have really low ram and run out of ram space when you play games. i know what i talk about, i play competetive games since over 15 years and always optimize my systems to the absolute maximum with before and after fps/system latency/stability comparison. overall a misleading guide in my opinion. many unnecessary steps included. very misleading and confusing for people who are not experienced with system optimization.
16:40 i personally expirienced less delay and games went smoother when i set system responsivness to 00000000 instead of 1 Can someone tell the difference between this two
I got issue I like the fact that Windows can be extremely personalized on any level and alters on all levels almost but why do they not have everything on automatic feature during the setup on deep optimization out of the gate by The dude for it's own system not for you necessarily but you basically tell them the best way to serve you for them really. It blows my mind
Would any of these optimizations cause freezes? I have been experiencing freezing on my pc for a little while and I don't know if it started after I made these changes. I have an amd system
Doesn’t windows 11 have timer resolution built in? Or am I better off turning it off in windows and downloading ISLC and using that? Edit: also if you have an AMD card and aren’t using RSR then you should definitely use radeon image sharpening as it does not effect your performance at all and will improve graphic quality.
It DOES add latency to your frame timing though, I’d actually avoid it for competitive FPS but if raw framerates are all that matter like in a single player game it’s great.
@@notblazedfordays9536 Anything outside of raw pixel output adds latency, it can boost framerates but it adds frame time because of the additional processing. Which can give shooters a floaty, laggy feeling where you’d want responsive input. We’re talking about a fraction of a second though, it’s a disadvantage but not a big one.
Hm. What do the changes to the registry keys actually do? A word on this would certainly be helpful. Or did you write the values somewhere from the internet? I am undecided
Basically, changing the registry is manually rewriting the hexidecimal codes associated with a given program option (sometimes) available elsewhere in Windows. If there are 3 options for the setting, then you have 1, 2, 3 available, etc. If it's just off/on (false/true) you just change the line's value with a 0 or a 1.

@@CiiTy_1 yeah used DDU, turns out, after i done all the stuff, i also updated my driver from ADM 22.10.1 to 22.10.2 and it completely fucked my pc, reverted it back to 22.10.1 and was perfect, werid
just followed every step to the video. MW2 went from 200+ fps to barely getting 40 fps.
Yup..
Thanks for the tip, just not gonna change anything now
If it ain't broke don't fix it
your the best brother so fun to watch you and your best for us
Thanks a lot your videos are right on target no time wasting and very precise information true legend keep going GOD bless you
Hey! Thanks so much for this video!
this video has so much information thats amazing Thank you very much :)
there is a really nice tool called ctrl hone it is trusted and very good for optimizing u should make a vid on it
Awesome, was actually just gonna search a video up on this. Like to keep my computer running as optimal as possible. Again thank you for the video and cannot wait for the next one!
We need a proper video on Hpet off, with all commands and proper settings for Win11 and Win10 1909 and after. Does it really help with latency, for me it did.
years ago I started "researching" hpet I read through a 100+ page form with nerds arguing over it, a lot had good opinions on why it's good / bad / worthless
I personally found I enjoy it off, it feels like it reduces my input latency when I'm tapping heads
wow thank you i will be using them when i finish the whole video for sure! keep it up!😁
Awesome video, but these are for sure ADVANCED, and the normal everyday user should be cautious before plugging these configurations into their system.
@@Addeatt Agreed. Every system is different and even more so if the rig is not exclusively configured for gaming. WIndows is Windows, always... :)
THANK YOU!
lmao, you can run 1.6 on windows 95 with 100fps bruh
don't need any special tweaks
set rate 100k
CMD 105
update 100
interp 0.01
fps 100
boom you have perfect smooth settings
Came back to this video after a year becuase i got a new pc and this id the only guy you can trust at this point
Thanks dude this really helped me a lot I did the steps that's you did thanks man!
Hey Panjno, great video. I was wondering how I would be able to customize my fan curves on an Intel iRIS XE.
I had to use my restore point.
thnx man your the best you just helpd me alot my system why using 10 to 20 % cpu and i was having ping and packetloss problems now i can play
i still have some packetloss but its fine for now like 5 %
I just upgraded my PC and realised we now have the same CPU and GPU
thank you for the guide
For AMD do not use its drivers to make a fan curvature since it follows junction temperature instead of current temperature, you should use MSI Afterburner for AMD graphics card to make a fan curvature.
When the day comes that I get a consistent >=60 fps while in the middle of Carentan I will be able to die a happy man
doesnt it destroy the lifespan of the fans to put them already in 100% at 65-70°? like if I play high res games I sometimes get into 80-85°(with 110% power usage via msi afterburner) so it mostly stay at 100% like for some hrs if I play a lot and that straight for months/a year
yo this works a lot, i went from 5.94GB to 160GB you earned my sub
you are a beast dude
ty sow much
A tip I usually use is that if you are experiencing frame lag spikes it helps to restart your pc. Always works for me and my friends.
genius
wow rlly man
it's big brain time
but you didnt have to cut me off
Your guides are always the best. Thank you for everything.
Panjno i did this optimizations for Minecraft
Tq
Ur so good. are u a computer engineer. if yes do let me know. thanqk you love from india
is this setting safe on laptop???
Hi, should I upgrade to windows 11. Useful video!!
for now do not upgrade bcs windows 11 is not 100% stable at gaming at least. I had to switch back to windows 10 because i had a lot of issues with windows 11
@@GGamerAlk13 thanks
@@BbogdanV8 your welcome. happy i could help
NO. Stick with Windows 10.
good video! (like all the others you do)
I have a question about the radeon software: Can you use the Radeon Super Resolution to upscale a resolution if are the same time are you using the Virtual Super Resolution?
RSR works to upscale your resolution (if your game is at a lower resolution), while VSR works to downscale your resolution (if your game is at a higher resolution)
Panjo, you are a living legend... you have helped me and my pc so much! :D Thank you
Thank you sir!
i followed all steps now i have less fps it used to stay at 144 my target was 240fps now im at 60-80
dont get me wrong but i think all the registry value changes are a bit sketchy without further explanation. i also doubt they have any effect on gaming performance on a relatively new system, especially with the win11 task scheduling. this will more likely lead to windows problems, system instability and the need to do a new windows installation. a reasonable manual cpu/ram overclock, setting up process lasso and doing the "chris titus tech windows debloat" will help more with gaming performance than all of this together, without causing system instability. most of the settings and changes in the video will not have any effect. gpu overclocking also is most likely not advantageous for most modern games if you are not in a heavy gpu bottleneck. islc is another questionable thing. it only helps if you have really low ram and run out of ram space when you play games. i know what i talk about, i play competetive games since over 15 years and always optimize my systems to the absolute maximum with before and after fps/system latency/stability comparison. overall a misleading guide in my opinion. many unnecessary steps included. very misleading and confusing for people who are not experienced with system optimization.
then could you recommend a better guide?
16:40 i personally expirienced less delay and games went smoother when i set system responsivness to 00000000 instead of 1
Can someone tell the difference between this two
its prob just placebo as any values below 10 for system responsiveness is also 10.
Your setting is best when applying my PC performance increase fps
Thank you Panjno for your hard work the community of PubG Steam appreciate your work very much !! God bless you
Does this work on laptop
I need to know so I can or can’t do this
lol is literally for all laptop or not...
WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR
I got issue I like the fact that Windows can be extremely personalized on any level and alters on all levels almost but why do they not have everything on automatic feature during the setup on deep optimization out of the gate by The dude for it's own system not for you necessarily but you basically tell them the best way to serve you for them really. It blows my mind
I have a amd Vega graphics 8 and amd ryzen 5 cpu. Should I upgrade to windows 11 because I heard amd does not work with windows 11
Ryzen users should not upgrade to windows 11
Stay in win10 best !
@@gssudharshan1986 ok thx
h1.what is your OS version?
listen panjno many setting u told on this vdo are not in window 8.1 so i request u to make more fps in window 8.1 or 8
Changes a bunch of registry keys and doesn't explain what they do - great guide m8
Would any of these optimizations cause freezes? I have been experiencing freezing on my pc for a little while and I don't know if it started after I made these changes. I have an amd system
Love these videos thank you so much for making them you have helped me learn so much and I greatly appreciate it your like my teacher pretty much
Just double checking will these settings work on a laptop?
What does deleting the children's and parents folder do?
You should make a optimization pack with like every good tool and optimization batch and reg files
Thanks for tips !!!
Do these settings still work well?
Hey bro I got a question what does network throttling do ? And what does putt ffffffff do ? I’m just curious (:
thank u!
I'm confused with the "SystemResponsiveness set to 1" Many guides says set it to 0. But what works the BEST?. 1 or 0.
I think it was 1 that i use.. it's good its really responsive and at the same time a lot of fps
0
1 is better, it balances performance with responsiveness
the mininum value is 10. Any lower values will also be treated as 10.
@@OCtheG so both add latency?
@@notblazedfordays9536 Anything outside of raw pixel output adds latency, it can boost framerates but it adds frame time because of the additional processing. Which can give shooters a floaty, laggy feeling where you’d want responsive input. We’re talking about a fraction of a second though, it’s a disadvantage but not a big one.
What made the change from seven Fs to eight Fs?
Why are yall upset about the registry part he literally made a backup incase smth goes wrong
broo my fps is now running on 60 fps was 150 before i restarted i cant even back the regedit up??? wtf panjno??? my pc is running slow broo wtf
Hm. What do the changes to the registry keys actually do? A word on this would certainly be helpful. Or did you write the values somewhere from the internet? I am undecided
dont change anything in registry unless your 100 percent sure. trust me it will hurt your pc
@@gt71oti5 yeah i did it and needed to revert to my old registry and now i have invalid registry errors, unable to download games and such
Basically, changing the registry is manually rewriting the hexidecimal codes associated with a given program option (sometimes) available elsewhere in Windows.
If there are 3 options for the setting, then you have 1, 2, 3 available, etc. If it's just off/on (false/true) you just change the line's value with a 0 or a 1.
we need a new RAINBOW SIX SEIGE optimization guide, pleasee!!
