- Pasini’s Cantabile is based on Variation No. 7 from his Second Sonate for organ. It’s a theatrical piece that aims to be played expressively while maintaining a delicate balance between expression and structure. The piece is written in d major, and the lyrical melody flows gently from the first note to the last. However, the accompaniment “walks” through the circle of fifths with subtle dissonances.
I personally find this piece to be quite captivating. In fact, I never perform Pasini’s pieces; instead, I feel as though I become one with the music. It feels much more at home with his compositions.
The piece was performed with the Marcussen organ from the Grote or Saint-Laurens Church in Rotterdam, Netherlands (Hauptwerk).

This is definitely music in the cantabile style! Thanks for playing another Pasini for us.
Thanks James. Another easy-sounding-but-not-so-easy-to-play Pasini. Written in D major it has a chord progression that require careful reading…Dmaj7, Em7, F#m7, D, F#m7, Gm, Dsus4, D, Dsus4, Baug(sus2), Dm, F#m7, Baug(sus2), Dsus4, D.
You are the undoubted master of Pasini Cantabiles! This one is wonderfully romantic and it sounds really gorgeous on the Marcussen Organ sample set with your chosen registration: bravo, Rien! (This one is too sweet for tears . . . so I didn't need the tissues after all!)
Thanks Graham, again a genius composition with lots of exciting things happening in the accompaniment. It’s hardly audible, but the chord progressions are spectacular!
Great ! A little different from the others and just as charming. Happy Sunday.
Thanks Philippe! Have a nice weekend!
Dmaj7, Em7, F#m7, D, F#m7, Gm, Dsus4, D, Dsus4, Baug(sus2), Dm, F#m7, Baug(sus2), Dsus4, D.
Rien. Wonderful playing of our friend Pasini.
Thank you Steve! This one sounds simple but it really has brilliant accompaniment underneath the melody!
Sehr schöne Harmonien, liebe Grüße und einen schönen Sonntag. 👏 Gerd
Danke Gerd! Morgen ein schöner chorale prelude.
Very beautiful piece Rien ! Bravo ! Happy week-end !
Thanks a lot Rémi! Happy weekend to you too!
Very pleasant singing, very heartfelt performance.
Thank you! I’m a fan from Pasini!
Lovely music for Saturday morning!❤
Thanks! It’s music to listen on a square while enjoying a espresso on a sunny terrace. :-)
@@RienSchalkwijk but not to play it for sellers on the market
Quite beautiful! Nicely played

Beautiful piece and well played, Rien!
