He was my first 5* character when i didn't know anything about the game. Very beginner friendly and is still one of my top dps now. Very easy to build too.

Despite my enjoyment for Neuvillette, Neuvillette feels more of a hypercarry that'll drive teammates who can match him, whereas Ayato will go with anyone. It's why I still prefer Ayato burgeon over Neuvillette burgeon because Thomato is an amazingly synergistic pairing.
But why would you play burgeon in a first place?

Ayato imo tests one's understanding and nuance on versatility. It's easy to brush him off for other options but he never was a low-tier option anywhere. Childe and Neuv have no off-field presence, Yelan and Xingqiu have lower AoE, Kokomi has lower personal damage, etc. Like yeah they do better elsewhere but 1 unit who doesn't have these units' ceilings having a non-negligible edge edge over everybody is surprisingly good.
He's not speedrun-oriented in any way but by God the amount of teams I can make with him is a lot that even when I got him since debut I never benched him
I am going to try and get him since I am new to the game and have fairly limited on field dps from my four star. A five star hydro on field dps who is flexible too is great to have.
You can make the same amount of copium team with other Hydro's

Before you skip JUST because he's "weaker than Neuvillette" just remember that Abyss 12 is NOT that hard/high of a DPS check. Ayato WILL clear Abyss 12 without struggle. And I do mean *without struggle.* If you like him, I very much recommend him.
Ayato Kazuha Fischl Beidou was my first 36 star and he's been in all my abyss runs since, among many different teams still rocking a C0 with black sword.
Ayato working in many different teams and with every support in the game feels much better to players who aren't heavy spenders planning on getting every unit in the game, and is understated by most content creators who will pull for at least c0 of every character for content.
I feel like this needs to be stated more often. Genshin isn't having something that will require you to always have top of the meta characters to clear. I am a new player and going to pull for ayato because I have no on field dps.

When Ayato first dropped.... I saw his preview, tried him out in the practice domain... Vergil vibes all the way.... So obivously I pair him with Kazuha and Raiden to make him the storm that is approaching.
Ayato is also the character that made me realize I haven't been doing my character's artifacts properly. Because his 4pc glad keeps reminding me I need to get more people built up and it really is hard to get artifact rolls to be as generous as they were for him.
edit: Still loved seeing people debate on artifact sets... Echoes vs Heart of Depths vs Glad... and Thundering Fury was put forward for some teams

Wanted to watch a video like this that consolidates Ayato's value in the current hydro meta. I pulled him and was excited, although I wasn't sure if he was going to be redundant in my account or not. Glad to know that he basically fits in so many teams and that he still got his own strengths.

I do indeed like Ayato because of his versatility. He might not be the hypercarry hydro dps that Neuvilette is but he has so many teams he can slot into. He reminds me of Ganyu in that you can use them as your on field carry or an off-field burst support. I have one team that even combines Ayato, Ganyu, and venti which is just fun to watch or I’ll build him full em for my Nilou bloom.

I'm kinda surprised he didn't mention it too. I don't have it on my ayato that I've had since he released, but I've been thinking about it recently since it got added to strong box. I actually have a reason to have that set now 🤷♂️
@@smashusofficial1461you shouldn't use it if you have high ping, because the effect doesn't get triggered that often which will only lower the overall damage. Its damage is also not consistent as HoD and Gladiator, it could do 1 big damage with 1 slash but then next 2-3 slashes are gonna do quite a bit. Farming it is also pain on ass because the whole domain is a big scam
@NoName-bs2hq yup. Im well aware of that. I've normally got less than 30 ping. And you don't even have to farm it anymore. That's why I was surprised it wasn't at least mentioned since, you can strongbox all of it. It's still his BiS (although you're right, it depends on your ping)

I have him with nahida kuki and electro traveller. It feels like nahida does the most damage sometimes but it’s very fun

I kind of have to agree with the Ayato-Yunjin pairing. I have c6 Yunjin and her attack speed boost is so satisfying on Ayato's skill! I haven't really thought of running him with Marechausee on Furina teams, that would be interesting to try, I feel like he would feel quite fluid with Jean. Lastly, you can dodge around when you're in his skill state, though it is a bit more clunky than normal. I think what i do is move plus dash to make him move, then it takes a split second for him go back into his stance so it does feel kind of janky. But at least you are not hard locked once you press E.

I wonder why Ayato + Candace is so slept on, shes probably one of his best supports. She's essentially Yun-Jin but Hydro which gives him a resonance as well as more Hydro app/infusion.
Candace has so much potential with hypercarry that does NA AOE atks like Ayato, too bad the aoe content of this game is so easy you won't notice the difference. Another reason is Ayato rarely being used as a hypercarry, his skill is just too short to take full advantage of buffs. If they release a hypercarry that does NA Aoe atks with longer duration, Candace's value will go up

An interesting teammate in light of Furina's release: Mika. Provides teamwide healing as well as attack speed. He works very well for a pseudo-freeze and mono hydro team with Ayato, Furina, Kazuha and Mika.
I have most of the 5 star and I still find myself going back to him and Itto. Easy, braindead, cool animations, cool lines, good dmg and sleeve bobba. What more can you ask?
I'm a relatively new account so I'm very excited to roll for him! He opens up so many teams for me, I hope I can get him tomorrow!
What teams open up for you ?
I'm in the same boat. Started in 4.0. Ayato brings great value to an account due to his versatility. Veteran accounts won't benefit as much due to his lower ceiling.

TBH dude, kuki and yaoyao, dmc, are good off field for hyper, i think thats a good hyperbloom team you should be fine with almost any content with them

I pulled Ayato kind of impulsively on his last banner and I just slapped it on a Nilou team because I did not have any other good unit at the time for that role. For the longest time I have played that team with Nahida and Yaoyao and it slaps hard (not to mention it's slightly more F2P). Yaoyao's healing is more than enough, and since she applies dendro quite well during her burst, I don't feel like I'm loosing much not using Baizhu. I actually prefer Yaoyao (even though I have similarly invested Baizhu) because the aboslute minefield that she creates with Nahida and Ayato's burst is really really efficient, specially for aoe and Yuegui's constant healing is quite comfy.

Ayato, Furina, Xingqiu, Jean is carrying me in this Abyss. Honestly, Ayato's always my pick when clearing Floor 12 of the Abyss because he's just simple, and fun to play while also dealing great damage.
A bit of constructive criticism: please say the names of the artifact sets correctly. The joke with marechaussee hunter was funny the first time, but now it's just distracting, especially when English is not listener's first language, or when listening to the guide in the background while doing something else. It can be quite confusing at times.

I started playing about a year ago and only liked playing pyro or cryo characters, now they are all benched and I’m mad about dendro and hydro. I’ve just pulled Ayato and love that he can fit so many teams, just need to get Nilou and Alhaitham and I’ll be happy 😊
Ayato’s cooldowns pair well with Fischl and Yae, which is good for electro-charged, and with kuki for hyperbloom

Ayato is the ideal role consolidation for a main DPS but he doesn't have the damage to become a backbone of any team
Ayato was my 2nd limited 5 star i got lucky on his banner after using my guaranteed on raiden and git his weapon at low pity too. He has carried me through the game till ar 57 rn and although i now have neuvillette, furina and yelan i still use him with vape in the abyss. And i love him
I was an Ayato main then I tasted the power dendro and never left until Nuevilette came and oh wow, Ayato's fully buffed damage is just raw dmg of Neuvi. Ayato deserved better but he is still fun.

My current Ayato team includes Layla, Raiden and Tighnari, as a quickswap Hyperbloom/Superconduct.
It's great for area denial, because Ayato's burst and Layla's burst create an "active" freeze field, that keeps the enemy from moving much, and allowing Tighnari to hyperbloom everyone to death.
You start with Ayato's Burst, followed by Layla's skill and burst, then Raiden's skill, and then Tighnari's skill, 3 CAs and burst, then back to Ayato for his skill and rapid hits. Rinse and repeat.
The team should have enough energy regen to allow everyone to burst on cool down.
If I were to start a new account, Ayato would be among my top picks to pull for. For an Established account however, there are better hydro chars for each role he can fill

Ayato’s gear versatility works for me since I like building up lots of characters (lots of overworld boss looting). I can make him stronger each time I get a favourable gladiator piece.
Played for a long time but Ayato was one of the first characters that i had no personal attachment to that i enjoyed immensely. Its the fact he can work in so many ways even if not the peak of anything specifically, more importantly although his slashes are cool in truth a bit like Ganyu and her CA the main thing that sticks with you is the alt, but in his case if not the potential of say really invest Ganyu Melt of Ayaka Ganyu combos its hydro so by virtue it just does so much in so many scenarios.
I tried Soup with Yae for a long time and i don't totally recommend it, but trying to pace all the characters together, skills, ults, all of that, is probably one the most difficult but rewarding things. With that being said you can just throw Kuki and or Thoma with Nahida on his team and react like there is no tomorrow and if not the most potent team in the world, probably one of the most potent f2p teams thats good enough to clear most anything for how simple but also visually spectacular it looks.
The team I use with Ayato is based around buffing him as much as possible, with Bennet, Ayato, Xangling, and Candace. The pyro application to allow him to vape his hits and Candace instead of a Yun Jin since her huff is capped at 30 hits and if you’re hitting multiple targets you can hit that cap, and Candace dosent have a cap like that on her N.A. buff.

I love Ayato. I got him because I wanted Xingqiu in every team. Out of Xingqiu's kit, it was the hydro application that I most needed to copy. At the time I was deciding between Yelan, Kokomi, and Ayato. Went with Ayato because of his flexibility. Since then I got Neuvillette and Furina (sorry yelan... I swear you are next) and I still feel Ayato is the best choice for my best team which is hyperbloom with nahida and kuki with a flex spot (normally Zhongli). It is nice to have options though lol, now Xingiu just goes on national or raiden national, freeze, and burgeon or if I just want to throw him in as a fourth slot on some team, ayato has hyperbloom, and furina/neuvillette get to have fun.
For me, Ayato is the king of multiwaves content like this event. His burst can cover almost all the arena so the circle impact is not that big of a deal, his flexibility and short rotation allow me to set up quickly and his dmg is also present, not as high as hypercarries but 15-20k aoe is pretty good for multiwaves content. I got like 15~16k points this event with Ayato Kazuha Xiangling Bennett.
But can't beat childe tho😂😂 in international.

I was a huge Ayato simp at his launch and I tried with Furina and I can't recommend it for overworld because many enemies are good against monohydro. If you play Ayato do the good ol' Soup with Kazuha Fischl Bennett

You can always get more power through artifacts, but not enjoyment. Also, consistency is king, and for those reasons, I'll be pulling him.
Ended up pulling Ayato with 0 pity when trying to get Kuki cons. Always loved the trials where I got to use him so not bad, but feels bad cause I just wanted 4*s when I had no pity. Lol.
I'm getting him because he looks fun to play, and maybe cause a lot of people compare him to Vergil... but totally the first reason, yep, without a doubt, for sure 😅

My favorite overworld team by far is stacking a ton of attack speed buffs on him via C2 Jean, C6 Yun Jin, and Mika. If I could get his C4 and Skyward my account would be complete forever.
I just got Ayato about a few minutes ago and i also have furina so having to say the Marechaussee Hunter set goes well if I have furina in the team is very helpful, Farming 2 types artifact in one domain is like killing 2 birds with one stone. Though currently I want my furina to be off field and Ayato as Main DPS (on field) since Furina is my onfield (main dps) at the moment. But artifact wise I would have to settle for 4 set glad for now as i dont have quite good substat for Marechaussee Hunter.
As someone who loves building lots of characters and i only have mona in terms of hydro 5 stars ayato sounds pretty cool.
3:19 Does it have to be Kazuha? Because I don't have him but I have Venti and Sucrose
I can't say I regret pulling him since he helped me clear the abyss when my account was weaker, but he's been benched on my account since Sumeru. I just have too many alternatives now, and I honestly only got him because I was trying to max out Xiangling at the time, and didn't mind if I won the 50/50.
I have him, as well as c1 yelan, c0 furina and c0 Neuvi. I'd say I'm set with hydros. Even tho he honestly has the lowest personal damage between those units, I end up using him in Abyss 99% of the times.
He makes up for the smaller dmg with very short cooldowns, basically 100% ult uptime, decent stagger resistence (trust me: it feels way stronger than c0 Neuvi's even tho probably it's the same), and more importantly with the fact that even if you get interrupted his skill doesn't end there. You can dodge, be knocked down, and immediately resume slashing when you recover.
Also, he is the easiest to use. Just hold E and enjoy (yeah, Neuvi too. But with Ayato you don't even need to aim).
He is great with yelan+xq (Vergil intensifies) and absolutely nasty in hyperbloom and burgeon teams.
And if you play him in electro-charged or hyperbloom teams, if you give him Thundering Fury you lose personal damage but you literally have 100% slashing uptime. It's so much fun.
Ps. A surprisingly functioning team is 3hydro yoimiya with him, yelan, xq and yoimiya. You do ayato's skill during yoimiya's burst and viceversa, alternating xq and yelan between the two. You have 100% hydro swords/dices, you get a lot of vaporize hits with yoimiya's skill. Ayato's burst buffs both of their NA. Yoimiya's burst buffs ayato's attack. Yelan boosts everyone's damage up to 50%. Xq shreds hydro res and gives you minor healing and stagger resistance. If ayato has the black sword he basically heals himself. Use xq during yoimiya's skill and she gets healed. Xq and yelan can survive just fine since they're mostly off-field.
I got Ayato unintentionally but not regrettably while trying for an extra Kuki. He'll fill a void in my teams since I previously didn't have enough hydro applicators to make a second Abyss team that needs one.

I've been so tempted to pull him because I've had Black sword forever now and no one really uses it because all my sword users are like.... Supports. And I have an amazing Glad set for him if he does come home.
These videos are so helpful! Subbed. Thank you! Quick random question: In a Raiden, Furina, Baizhu (have no Jean) team, would Kazuha, Fischl, or XQ be a preferred final member? (looking to make a Raiden C2 hypercarry team here, not an EM Raiden even though the first three will of course be doing some hyperblooming by nature of elements).
so the best hypercarry team for raiden consists of c6 sara, bennet and kazuha. If you have bennet and kazuha they will give so much buffs to your raiden (after all this is a hypercarry team meaning gigabuffing one character). In the team you mention kazuha would be best for raiden's personal for more of a "hypercarry" and would just be valuable anyways because he can swirl giving extra dmg.

Ayato was my first favorite main dps as a beginner (Had yae miko and ganyu, didn’t like their slow play style) I had so much fun building him and seeing his dmg, he killed everything and carried me through the game

how does finale of the deep at high refinements compare to other 4 stars weapons options?
I don't have an on field hydro dps, I was planning on saving for navia, but I really want more kuki constellations and I need one more kirara one, so after watching this, as I'm low pity I'm going to pull on ayato's banner and of I end up getting him early I'd be okay with that
Do you really want to waste your guaranteed on Ayato tho?
If you don’t have a guaranteed 50/50 that’s fine, but rolling an unwanted 5* char ain’t worth the Kuki/Kirara consts.
You also don’t really “need” a hydro-dps, or a dps of every element
I love Ayato he works really well with a lot of teams! His overall damage isnt the highest but if you like vaporize teams that can change things for him! His damage sky rockets in vaporize comps. As for Navia I dont want to spoil you anything on her kit if you dont look at leaks, but I will say she isnt the best Geo option out there and I personally am dissapointed so I will be skipping. Was really looking forward to using her but alas sometimes characters get shafted😢

I did have a guarantee but I used it on baizhu, depaite navia coming up, Nilou's still my most wanted character, so got Baizhu for future Nilou teams.( really enjoying him as a unit in his own right though)
But yh I'm on kuki c1 and kirara c3 so they're both pretty important constellations, tbh I think I'd have been tempted to pull for them even if it was a guarantee, but, you probably would have talked some sense into me, but yh no worries, and thank you for the advice!
@@Cipher132 yeah I've been a bit disappointed by the navia kit leaks honestly, but I tend to take in in turns with my motivations for pulling a character. I'll pull for a character purely for meta or team building reasons. Then the next time I pull for a 5* it'll be just because I like them or their design, then back to meta and keep repeating that.
Last 5* I got was a tactical one so I'm okay with pulling for navia even if she's not the best or she's a gun wielding character who can't aim up..... Okay that one might bother me aha
What is the 'mariachi band' when talking about artifacts?
I plan to grab him next time he reruns. I wonder if he is decent on a hyperbloom team.
Hopefully he is an upgrade to Xingqiu in this manner.

I always thought about getting him, but with Yelan+Furina+Xingqui, he's just not the right missing piece for me.
I just managed to pull Furina and I'm looking to pull for another 5-star on-field dps as I've only got Wrio and Diluc. Would it be worth pulling for Ayato and matching him with furina or do I wait for Raiden banner in 4.3? My hypothetical team Ayato - Furina - Fisch/flex - Venti. I Really need a second team for abyss so I can clear floor 12. Main team right now is Wrio - Xiangling - Zhongli - Bennet
I actually accidentally got him during his first banner and I could not be happier that I did.
The best part about Ayato is that he fixes the "GanYu issue" with aiming and charged attacks for those who don't like this type of gameplay. Other than that, he is very similar to her in his kit. Although, the difference in gameplay is pretty big. For GanYu, being fast and constantly moving while aiming is the best part. For Ayato it is the opposite, he is stationary and therefore needs either a shield or freeze support. Both, preferably. Diona to the resque!
i like playing lyney but he needs more mats to ascend and a lot of my chars are underleveled.. i also have wayy too much trouble finding ascension mats
Artifact section didn't mention Echoes of an Offering Set. If you have good ping, that can technically be his best set in some situations. But it's a super inefficient domain to farm and I would expect you to have much better Heart of Depth pieces, and the difference isn't worth it.
Also, I still consider Ayato the best pick for Thoma burgeon, especially since Thoma at c6 also gives a buff back to Ayato.
i had intended to build ayato with 4 piece gladiator and the jade cutter. it may not be his "best" but i hope to make him chop down enemies anyway. coincidentally, i can give him one i already have and he'd have something like 99% crit rate and 210% crit damage, which i think is pretty great. (i also wish i could see ping less than 90 and not consider it a myth or a dream)
I love his palystyle, its really fun to fight with him, but sadly i dont use him much anymore bc i have Neuvillette now
I had been waiting for Ayato since his last rerun was my first banner as a new player, and I really enjoyed how he felt not only in the recent dungeon event, but in his trial as well (even tho at the time i had NO IDEA what I was doing) but the banners had been ridiculously good to me lately and I had won my last 5 50/50s, getting C1R1 Neuvillette and C1 Furina (random Venti thrown in the middle there as well.) Neuvillette's weapon was a random 10 pull that came in at 31 pity, and 2 days ago I got Jean when i finally lost my 50/50 trying to get Furina's C2. Right now with a cracked Neuvillette, the vertical investment that would be required to to make Ayato as good as my Neuvillette wouldn't be nearly as rewarding as filling other niches where my account is lacking. Off field electro for the team i dont have kuki/Fischel on or off field dendro would probably be best for my acc now.
Trying to get his C3. Ayato, Furina, Yelan, Jean is an insane team.
im a bit of a broke ass so ive been running ayato, yun jin, bennet, xiangling defiantly not the best team but i see bigger numbers than the other characters i have and thats all i care for so it works out😭😭
I'm saving up for the possibility of Nahida rerun on lantern rite but I also want Ayato. I like both characters playstyle but I'm torn on who to pull now.
I don't know even after all these times I still found myself returning to ayato whenever I want to clear abyss fast and get the rewards 😂
i have Neuvillette who is like super powerhouse but returning to ayato just feels home again because he literally does everything so simple and allowed me to run a full hypercarry Neuvillette on one side. If there's a data of the most on field DPS that I used over 2 years of my full star abyss I believe Ayato must be the one that's most used
I have not tried full glad set or 2p glad and 20 heart of depth but I’m confused as to why 4p echoes was not mentioned. I did a damage test with him not too long ago and tried 4p hod and 4p echoes and echoes out paced by a long shot. Did I miss something here?
I can always try them again but as far as I’m aware his bis will usually be echoes for personal dps.
I have Ayato for almost a year now. I have most of the better dps (except Neuvillette) but I keep coming back to Ayato due to the simple fact that his drip is SSS tier. Literally my favorite drip in the game.
I already have childe and neuve both so is ayato worth pulling?
