you should watch beginner guides bc i can see how this is too much but a few tips are explore, do daily commissions, dont waste primogems, unlock waypoints and dont try to level up to much characters at once
just play the game. DOn't always watch yt videos. Play for once and know your mistakes and you can create another account and avoid mistakes. Just don't focus too much on primogems, you won't enjoy the game. Just enjoy the game(exploring, fighting, story, combos, etc)

Don't upgrade your characters untill ur main is lvl 40 is an awful choice. Because you will get tired of the character and drop the game, plus you won't be able to defeat some enemies. And also, the early game is the most fun, so you don't have to lock yourself because someone just told you to do so!
Yeah, for as strong as the Traveler might be, I gotta be honest; I quit using him when he was Lv.40 because he just wasn't impressing me whatsoever. I'll level him up if I HAVE too in order to progress the game, but aside from that, I don't see the reason to waste resources on him if I have other characters I use more.

Oof.. This is probably not a beginner-guide I would recommend to someone who is starting to play Genshin. A couple of things that are outright "wrong" or not recommended, like "Install Genshin on your phone". Sure, if you have the option to do so and actually play on your phone on a regular basis, why not. It's definitely not a must. Not even really recommended because that game takes a lot of space away and if you got a PC you can do your dailies quickly within 10 minutes (which does require fighting, too, despite what OP said). So, if you can't install Genshin on your phone, don't worry about it, it's not even close to a recommendation or requirement at all. Unless you got so much going on in your life that you barely touch your desktop PC; in which case Genshin might not be the best game to pick anyways. Secondly, 5*-characters. Simple rule. If you like them, for whatever reason, get them. I know, there are dozens of content-creators out there that let you know that unit XYZ is not worth it for various reasons, but it ultimately doesn't matter. It really doesn't. You can beat the game with the units you get at the very beginning, and you can easily nourish any other unit into a carry one way or another. Don't pull a character because someone claims it's "OP"; it's pointless if you don't like the characters design or how they play. The opposite is also true. There is not a single unit in Genshin where a 2nd "support"-unit is required to make your favorite 5* character work. That's outright a lie. Wanderer can get through content just fine, Faruzan doesn't make him "viable", she only does what she is supposed to do; powering up other units. You play this game to have fun and while min/maxing might be fun to some it's definitely far from being necessary. so just go for any unit you think is interesting. You only have to be reasonable with your choices; if you decide to go for a character you should be aware that maybe you won't be able to pull for the next new incoming banner because you might have to save up Primogems again. Though, that goes without saying.
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I rushed my adventure rank all the way to 50+ in 1 month and had no regrets, yes fights are a bit harder but the rewards are phenomenally better. Use noelle if you need a shield, she's free, and always remember... quick dash gives you invincibility for a split second, use it like a dodge mechanism

Another important tip, learn the pity system. Every 90 pulls you get a guaranteed 5 star weapon or character. And your chances keep getting higher the closer you get to 90. So if you use acquaint fate while your pity is too high, you may waste your guaranteed pull on a character you were aiming for. I made that mistake once. And it hurts.
I totally understand that your tips are so useful but my tip is : play the game as you like to play it because gamers have different mentalities and ways to enjoy the game plus we have different luck rates on banners and different gaming skills and different time spent per day to progress and different favorite characters ..

@@mint_420 I don't think you have to make a new account because of these mistakes are actually a could thing for eg. building and leveling more than one character is a good idea or spreading yourself to thin isn't necessarily a bad thing just depend on how much you do it, because it isn't that hard to get materials to ascend character and weapons.

Here are my 10 tips for basically any Genshin player out there. #1 Do single pulls if you're f2p and if you're going to put money into it, keep tabs on your expenses. #2 Don't use weapon billets straight away. #3 Kaeya is your main dps for a while if you're f2p. #4 NEVER USE FRAGILE RESIN UNTIL YOU'RE IN THE END GAME! #5 Go around the map and unlock Statues of the seven as much as you can before doing quests and explorations. #6 Remember your daily commissions and daily check-ins. #7 PARAMETRIC TRANSFORMER! #8 Don't ascend to world level 4 before your characters and weapons are level 70 max. #9 Try to subscribe to one or two Genshin news related channels so you can keep tabs on future banners and free primo codes. #10 Don't forget to have fun. Try not to turn the game into a chore that you'll start hating someday. Take breaks every once in a while.

I'm AR55 and really, really agree with all that he said here. Also, the teapot and the statues and the trees that you level up in each region will award you with primos, weapons billets, and other great materials. Do reputation quests every week. Only 10 minutes or so, and they are done, awarding 20,000 Mora and reputation experience. In Monstadt, you can get the NRE crafted. Let me tell you, it is game changing. You can store revival and HP food in it. Those sweet flowers suddenly become useful because they make Sweet Madame food. In that pouch, you can instantly revive or heal, even in the middle of a boss fight. That equals survival and collection of rewards.
Most of these videos really get me hyped and have a solid understanding of a game. This video just made me so confused and overwhelmed I deleted Genshin. Thank you for saving me time.

I learned a very helpful tip from your video that you didn't even intentionally cover. I had NO idea you could name PINS! How am I just now learning about this!? Well to be fair, I learned about a lot of things super late in my playthrough and I'm still learning. This includes things like how useful elemental sight is, the online Teyvat map for marking down completed objectives, and crafting condensed resin. I learned the hard way not to level all your characters. It's less about the exp books and more about the loss of Mora. Now that I'm AR 56 and my characters are all max level, I'm running into the issue of not enough Mora to crown my mains. It costs almost a million mora to crown just one ability.

I guess I only made one mistake, and that is levelling up characters that I don’t even use, like I have a level 54 Amber and I never use her, so I wasted all those materials for nothing😓
This + for anyone clearing Dragonspine : there are quite a few more agates than you will need. I currently have 7 in my inventory after fully upgrading the tree.
You can also craft oculi finders and use the interactive map on ce the oculi finder highlights the area it's in! Sumeru reputation also gives you a very helpful wood collecting gadget.
Don’t mind me just an ar 58 player who joined in 2.2 sneaking by for nostalgia purposes . (Just now realizing how many of these tips I didn’t follow, I came out fine in the end though)
One important thing you forgot to mention regarding upgrading your characters is: upgrade everything. Character level, character talents, weapon level, equip artifacts, and upgrade those artifacts. Everything is needed. So many people forget something of these exists and then leave talents at 1 or so. Regarding oculi, not only they pop up in your map when you run around, but the resonance stone has quite some range and does not get consumed if no oculus is located. I never recorded my oculi on a map and I used total of 1 resonance stone for whole Sumeru and 1 resonance stone in Fontaine. They're not that expensive, especially if you follow your "pick up everything" rule. In my opinion it is way less effort to use them than to record every single of your oculi in the map.
Early game elemental reactions are your best friend. Pick a dps and then a second character for elemental reactions as that’s where a good amount of damage can come from. Barbara Lisa combo carried me when I first started playing.
don't worry, a lot of this can be told to you by friends and they will let you know what information is important to remember, but getting information like this all at once can be overwhelming

I also watched a "things I wish I know before I start genshin" guide when I started and tbh I dont remember much anyways when I actually played lol few things that I remember was to not use you're fragile resin during early AR (this became a habit and now I got 150 fragile resin as an f2p at ar 58 lol)and not level up all your characters all at once bc there are resources that are kinda hard to come by or something like that.

started last week, got some decent pulls and almost AR 35. Won't be doing ascention until i get a boatload of resources to lvl my main team. Regret getting amber to 40
I'd get it on my phone but "Game is not available on your device" 9:37 some blackcliff weapons are nice, and also, buying intertwined fates is good after you got all the characters maxed out. 16:28 loach pearls do not have a single use in the entire game. 18:00 there is exactly 1 more of every oculi than you need. And you can craft oculi resonance stones, which will show you the location of an oculi that you are missing, and they are pretty cheap.
I've been playing inconsistently for more than a year and my account was rubbish. I didn't understand why my characters were so weak so I decided to watch a bunch of beginner guides. You my friend are the first one I see explaining what condensed resin is. This is gonna be a game changer thanks a lot !

I would like to point out about not spreading yourself too thin that while that is true, ascend every character you get at least once for a free standard pull. It's a no brainer.
I literally started playing this game last week and I have so many questions like do I just try to max out the starter characters they give you lol I am a gamer of order I like steps and order and there’s no sense of direction in this game
For everyone saying that you need a gaming phone to play genshin impact is wrong well it does take 30gb of storage but it works just fine and the only time it lags is in the loading screen and my phone can't even handle fortnight and my phone is fine after handling 30gb

To be fair, there's a reason I said "First video on this channel" because indeed I'm already running a decently successful channel on the game Warframe. But I thought I'd give Genshin a go, too since I found myself enjoying it a lot ^^
Don't upgrade your characters untill ur main is lvl 40 is an awful choice. Because you will get tired of the character and drop the game, plus you won't be able to defeat some enemies. And also, the early game is the most fun, so you don't have to lock yourself because someone just told you to do so!
Yeah, for as strong as the Traveler might be, I gotta be honest; I quit using him when he was Lv.40 because he just wasn't impressing me whatsoever. I'll level him up if I HAVE too in order to progress the game, but aside from that, I don't see the reason to waste resources on him if I have other characters I use more.

Oof.. This is probably not a beginner-guide I would recommend to someone who is starting to play Genshin.
A couple of things that are outright "wrong" or not recommended, like "Install Genshin on your phone".
Sure, if you have the option to do so and actually play on your phone on a regular basis, why not. It's definitely not a must. Not even really recommended because that game takes a lot of space away and if you got a PC you can do your dailies quickly within 10 minutes (which does require fighting, too, despite what OP said). So, if you can't install Genshin on your phone, don't worry about it, it's not even close to a recommendation or requirement at all. Unless you got so much going on in your life that you barely touch your desktop PC; in which case Genshin might not be the best game to pick anyways.
Secondly, 5*-characters.
Simple rule. If you like them, for whatever reason, get them. I know, there are dozens of content-creators out there that let you know that unit XYZ is not worth it for various reasons, but it ultimately doesn't matter. It really doesn't. You can beat the game with the units you get at the very beginning, and you can easily nourish any other unit into a carry one way or another. Don't pull a character because someone claims it's "OP"; it's pointless if you don't like the characters design or how they play. The opposite is also true. There is not a single unit in Genshin where a 2nd "support"-unit is required to make your favorite 5* character work. That's outright a lie. Wanderer can get through content just fine, Faruzan doesn't make him "viable", she only does what she is supposed to do; powering up other units. You play this game to have fun and while min/maxing might be fun to some it's definitely far from being necessary. so just go for any unit you think is interesting.
You only have to be reasonable with your choices; if you decide to go for a character you should be aware that maybe you won't be able to pull for the next new incoming banner because you might have to save up Primogems again. Though, that goes without saying.

Use noelle if you need a shield, she's free, and always remember... quick dash gives you invincibility for a split second, use it like a dodge mechanism

Another important tip, learn the pity system. Every 90 pulls you get a guaranteed 5 star weapon or character. And your chances keep getting higher the closer you get to 90. So if you use acquaint fate while your pity is too high, you may waste your guaranteed pull on a character you were aiming for. I made that mistake once. And it hurts.
Weapon banner hard pity is 80. Generally you're extremely likely to get a five star character between 75 and 82 pity.
I totally understand that your tips are so useful but my tip is : play the game as you like to play it because gamers have different mentalities and ways to enjoy the game plus we have different luck rates on banners and different gaming skills and different time spent per day to progress and different favorite characters ..

Here are my 10 tips for basically any Genshin player out there.
#1 Do single pulls if you're f2p and if you're going to put money into it, keep tabs on your expenses.
#2 Don't use weapon billets straight away.
#3 Kaeya is your main dps for a while if you're f2p.
#4 NEVER USE FRAGILE RESIN UNTIL YOU'RE IN THE END GAME!
#5 Go around the map and unlock Statues of the seven as much as you can before doing quests and explorations.
#6 Remember your daily commissions and daily check-ins.
#7 PARAMETRIC TRANSFORMER!
#8 Don't ascend to world level 4 before your characters and weapons are level 70 max.
#9 Try to subscribe to one or two Genshin news related channels so you can keep tabs on future banners and free primo codes.
#10 Don't forget to have fun. Try not to turn the game into a chore that you'll start hating someday. Take breaks every once in a while.
I like this list, actually, helpful and it doesn't make the game seem like a strain to play.

I'm AR55 and really, really agree with all that he said here. Also, the teapot and the statues and the trees that you level up in each region will award you with primos, weapons billets, and other great materials. Do reputation quests every week. Only 10 minutes or so, and they are done, awarding 20,000 Mora and reputation experience. In Monstadt, you can get the NRE crafted. Let me tell you, it is game changing. You can store revival and HP food in it. Those sweet flowers suddenly become useful because they make Sweet Madame food. In that pouch, you can instantly revive or heal, even in the middle of a boss fight. That equals survival and collection of rewards.

I learned a very helpful tip from your video that you didn't even intentionally cover. I had NO idea you could name PINS! How am I just now learning about this!? Well to be fair, I learned about a lot of things super late in my playthrough and I'm still learning. This includes things like how useful elemental sight is, the online Teyvat map for marking down completed objectives, and crafting condensed resin. I learned the hard way not to level all your characters. It's less about the exp books and more about the loss of Mora. Now that I'm AR 56 and my characters are all max level, I'm running into the issue of not enough Mora to crown my mains. It costs almost a million mora to crown just one ability.

You can also craft oculi finders and use the interactive map on ce the oculi finder highlights the area it's in! Sumeru reputation also gives you a very helpful wood collecting gadget.

One important thing you forgot to mention regarding upgrading your characters is: upgrade everything. Character level, character talents, weapon level, equip artifacts, and upgrade those artifacts. Everything is needed. So many people forget something of these exists and then leave talents at 1 or so.
Regarding oculi, not only they pop up in your map when you run around, but the resonance stone has quite some range and does not get consumed if no oculus is located. I never recorded my oculi on a map and I used total of 1 resonance stone for whole Sumeru and 1 resonance stone in Fontaine. They're not that expensive, especially if you follow your "pick up everything" rule. In my opinion it is way less effort to use them than to record every single of your oculi in the map.

Early game elemental reactions are your best friend. Pick a dps and then a second character for elemental reactions as that’s where a good amount of damage can come from. Barbara Lisa combo carried me when I first started playing.
At the beginning I didn't even acknowledged there was physical damages and elemental ones until I need it.
I haven't finished downloading GI and I already feel overwhelmed.
don't worry, a lot of this can be told to you by friends and they will let you know what information is important to remember, but getting information like this all at once can be overwhelming

I also watched a "things I wish I know before I start genshin" guide when I started and tbh I dont remember much anyways when I actually played lol few things that I remember was to not use you're fragile resin during early AR (this became a habit and now I got 150 fragile resin as an f2p at ar 58 lol)and not level up all your characters all at once bc there are resources that are kinda hard to come by or something like that.

18:00 there is exactly 1 more of every oculi than you need. And you can craft oculi resonance stones, which will show you the location of an oculi that you are missing, and they are pretty cheap.
I've been playing inconsistently for more than a year and my account was rubbish. I didn't understand why my characters were so weak so I decided to watch a bunch of beginner guides. You my friend are the first one I see explaining what condensed resin is. This is gonna be a game changer thanks a lot !

I would like to point out about not spreading yourself too thin that while that is true, ascend every character you get at least once for a free standard pull. It's a no brainer.

For everyone saying that you need a gaming phone to play genshin impact is wrong well it does take 30gb of storage but it works just fine and the only time it lags is in the loading screen and my phone can't even handle fortnight and my phone is fine after handling 30gb
