I’m really thankful for this being here, I keep coming back to it. I struggled through transcribing the first movement of this piece and it’s much less ornamented than what David did, so I got his transcription, and hope to someday follow his lead for the rest.
I have been loving Bach's e minor flute sonata(B.W.V-1034). Now, I admit that this guitar version without flute is also very nice. In spite of no flute, you could express enough this Bach's deep and complex structures with only single guitar. In other words, you took in many things from Bach's score. Although the 1st movement seems pretty strict and Anti-Romantic, Gradually, we can feel Bach's delicate expression. And the 2nd movement. Especially, Its vivid and enjoyable motions and atmospheres are marvelous. And the sound of guitar in the 3rd movement is awfully fantastic. you're distinctly singing with a guitar. It is natural to say that your guitar performance is an unique and excellent musical trial. And I'd like to agree with your behavior in baroque music. I could feel again the greatness of J.S Bach from such a case.

David Russell é meu violonista preferido porque ele parece humano, apesar de ser sobre-humano 😀
This arr, is amazing to me, i just had a mindgasm at bars 36-40 of the finale allegro. when you consider the greatness of everything, the original comp., the arrangements, the perfection of the creation of the fingers, the guitar fingering layout.... it just blew my mind! I had to sit back in the office chair with my jaw dropped looking up at the ceiling saying, 'thank you for this!'! (whoever you are...) ...and thanks to David Russell and J.S. Bach of course..and Mr. Marcos Brito for posting. (since i don't know how to get the original record yet...)
@@percyvolnar8010yes…lute is perfect for ancient and baroque music. But guitar is more versatile: ancient, baroque, romantic, modern and contemporary music.🖖🏼👍🏼
@@francescodefendi3201 I would have to disagree on the guitar being more versatile. The lute has a greater range and a very rich tonal quality that the Box-shaped guitar will never approach.
This is certainly a relic, probably from the 70s and most likely out of print. David looks so young there! I know his hair has always been long but it looks almost like he's shredding on an electric!
This recording means so much to me.
Absolutely beautiful masterful music and guitar playing. Oh and of course the beautifully made instrument. How rich it sounds.
- Grande David...disco storico...

guitar is such an underrated instrument for classical music
Bro, the Lute is king... More strings and a more baroque sound.

One of the few Russell CD's i have failed to acquire... the older ones are difficult to locate...

Ma è mai possibile che il maestro Russell non abbia pubblicato questo arrangiamento per chitarra ???
Cosa si può fare per averlo?
Les Editions Doberman-Yppan Sheet Music
