"Beauty will save the world" F. Dostoevsky Probably Bach thought the same, as he devoted his life to the highest form of beauty: music. If that's not something to be hopeful for, I don't know what is. Flawless work, maestro Russell. Can't wait to listen to you again!
David, I watched you perform this at hockstein theater in Rochester in 1986 or 87. You had just transcribed the Bach flute pieces. They is truly the most beautiful of them all. I’m sure Mr. Bach is very pleased with your contribution in making this available to serious guitarist.
This is the inspirational message I needed to hear right now and the whole world needs to hear it too. I loved the introduction which added to this wonderful rendition and reading some of the comments brought a tear to my eye! 💗 So good I had to listen 3 times 🙏
At 60 now and having picked up classical guitar 6 years ago, I am even more hopeful now after listening to those kind words and your sharing of a beautiful piece. Thank you!
Gracias Maestro. Sigo teniendo Esperanza de fundirme al fin con mi Ser. El Ser de todos. Y gracias por la semilla de amor a la musica y la guitarra sembrada en tantos y tantos discipulos.
Maestro.... Your right hand blows my mind. The beauty and clarity of orchestration is difficult to find words to describe. There is no other guitarist who I have heard that can play with your remarkable sensibility for dynamics especially as it relates to the placement of the melody and accompanying notes
This is sooooo good. On another level compared to most other classical guitarists on TH-cam. The tone, the feeling, the pacing, just so right. So many over romanticise Bach, they add this kind of fake emotion to it, but all you have to do is let the amazing music do it's thing, just like this. Perfect.
"Hope maketh not ashamed for the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts..." We then can be agents of hope all around us. You do this so wonderfully through Musical magic of strings, wood, fingers and air. Simple gifts to share and uplift. Blessings all around to you and yours and much gratitude for the inspiration Maestro David Russell.
Enhorabuena, señor Russell. Creo que no solamente es bella la melodía, también hay que saber canalizar esa esperanza con arte y usted lo ha vuelto a hacer...Gracias.
Absolutely MAGISTRAL! 🌸💖🌸💖🌸💖🌸💖🌸 THE GRANDEUR OF LOVE! 💖 Thank you David, for open your Heart, your Divine Music and your Luminous Soul with All os Us. 🍃🌸💖🌸🍃 THANK YOU! 💖
Really delicate rendering, you cherish this music; definitely sharing your feeling of hope without ignoring its incredible fragility. Thank you for sharing Maestro!
That was superb playing and a beautiful interpretation. Your Bach is still my favorite and has been for years. The bass resonance in that guitar is lifeless Why?
You do more than just perform these pieces... it is like you bring the composers back to life. Their spirit remains after all this time still defiantly vibrant.
Guauuu!!
This man right here is one of the reasons I love classical guitar.
Me too ❤
今日は次女と二人、

Thank you maestro! I do not have any hope left, but the few beauties of life, such as my dear Bach's music, help me keep breathing.

This was my favorite piece recorded in one of David's early CDs. Great to hear it again with Maestro's own narration inserted at the beginning.

Music, melody, tone, performance, instrument, all beautiful!
Magnificent playing and feel. Classical guitar playing doesen’t get any better than this. Inspirational🙏
Belíssimo
The man >>>>>>>>> the musician. And, to me, he's no more no less than the best classical guitar player in History, so is the man. My true inspiration.
I feel hope in a hopeless world😮😢😊
