    When I add turmeric to my dogs food, which I do on a daily basis, I add a couple of grinds of black pepper as this helps the turmeric release the curcumin.

      Everyday? Maybe do a deeper dive into the literature specifically about dogs and then decide if indeed your dog should be forced to participate in this trend everyday.

Bit he has now developed arthritis in his hips. I know turmeric has worked amazingly well for me.... And I'd like to see if it works for him too.... Can I...

    I’ve had two Jack Russells and both did not do well when given turmeric. Even a small amount caused shivering and vomiting in both dogs. I love turmeric and value the properties of the spice. But I would recommend everyone watch out for their dog acting strange after having turmeric there are definitely side effects. I even tried using some vitamins containing turmeric and that didn’t work because they caused vomiting.

    Hello, thanks for this info. But I heard that turmeric might lower down the level of sugar.
    My old dog has insullinoma which has hypoglycemia symptoms, she is taking cortisone and proglicem to stablize the sugar level. So I don't know if the turmeric would do good for her. Thanks

    I would love to give turmeric to my dog. I make Golden Paste that my husband and I take every day. I tried giving this to my dog in his food, tiny amounts, he does not like the taste. How would I give turmeric to his dry food? Just sprinkle turmeric on his food? Add fresh ground pepper?

      I would also like to know this. I've been giving my dog tumeric because she has had TPLO surgery on both back legs and I've been adding pepper and tumeric to cooked egg whites and raw yolk to her breakfast. Hopefully this is okay. Everything I've read is that you need to add 1/4 tsp pepper to 1 tsp tumeric.

    • @DogsNaturallyMagazineDNM
      @DogsNaturallyMagazineDNM  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You can add pepper to turmeric. The piperine in pepper enhances the absorption rate of curcumin, which is in turmeric.

    Will turmeric help a 7 month old pit that is extremely drinking water and has very loose bowl movements? I changed his food and put him on Blue buffalo for pups and add a teaspoon of pumpkin pulp . That was helping with the loos stool . However the need for water is insane . I can’t leave any water down . Do you think he may have an intestinal disorder? This morning I ran out of the pup food gave him the same brand for adults dogs without pumpkin pulp , I ran out . I took him out and diarrhea. I’m not sure what to do ? Please if anyone has had this problem I’m open for help.

      Feed her a cooked diet
      Brown rice, ground turkey, sweet potato, spinach, carrots, green peas, a little garlic, tumeric, milk thistle, coconut oil. It’s a miracle worker.
      We had a puppy with a horrible liver problem. Took him to 2 vets and they both said if he survived 2 days it’d be a miracle. I researched and found that diet from others who had really good results with their dogs. My puppy’s huge belly went down after being exclusively on this diet, his energy returned, we forgot that he was a very “sick” dog. He was growing so much and started eating our other dog’s kibble sometimes and so we stopped feeding exclusively cooked food (we were cooking 2 tall pots/wk), this was not a good idea. 10 mths later he had a significant growth spurt and the liver issues returned, sadly we lost him. I am happy that he was able to have 10 months of active, happy living.
