Melanie is so messy that I'm genuinely surprised that she didn't claim Bill chopped and stuffed himself into several suitcases and threw himself into the water.
Melanie was my mothers fertility nurse and the man she had an affair with was her doctor during her pregnancy with me. i was born at the beginning of April 2004 and she committed the murder on the 28th. She has told me that they were both incredibly kind and that the doctor was the best doctor she could have asked for- so much so that she went back to him two years later for her second pregnancy after everything came out! So crazy how something so grusome can happen involving two people who were fundamental in your existence!

The odd thing I will say is I’m from Philly and lots of people drive to Delaware to purchase things to avoid sales tax 😂😂 it’s weird but I know tons that do it.
Yea I’m from New York and it’s very common for us to go out of state for lower or no sales tax. It was actually the piece of circumstantial evidence I found the least convincing

Even a drive to Delaware would be significantly saving me money. Now I live in upstate New York so I’d be more like to go to Canada for cheaper furniture but just using this as an example because if very common: New York doesn’t have tax free weeks. Some other states like Pennsylvania do, so it’s very common for New Yorkers to go to PA for during a tax free week and buy all their children’s school stuff.

It would also help explain why Bill's body had animal fur hairs on his body as he was potentially murdered someplace that wasn't their apartment. So, to recap how the murder might have unfolded: Melanie sedated her husband, Bill, so that she would have an easier time relocating his body. ‐‐> Then her accomplice (or maybe her accomplice and Melanie were working together) shots him three times. --> They cut up his body; throw away the physical evidence. --> They plant his vehicle. --> Melanie ships Bill's belongings in trash bags to his acquaintances. Honestly, the amount of premeditation in this case is too absurd to be just some odd series of coincidences. Also feel free to tell me if I'm missing anything from that list of events.
Maybe because she's a nurse,she did a cleaner job then the average killer. Plus she had a lot of time alone,to take her time. Her kids weren't there at the time.

There's always a chance that she didn't do it of course- BUT this case is pretty much the perfect example of the concept "beyond a reasonable doubt." A bunch of small things when looked at separately could have alternate explanations, but when put together paint a very vivid picture. Great video!

Despite personally believing she probably did it, this case really goes against my jury belief of "beyond any reasonable doubt" for me. I'd need some actual hard evidence to know I'm basing it properly. We're not supposed to find them "not guilty" because we think they didn't do it, it's because it's innocent until PROVEN guilty. I've also seen a lot of people not get life in prison for murder when there are extenuating circumstances involving abuse, so it's very odd to hear she got sentenced for life for that, along with only circumstantial

I had never heard of this case but I grew up on the bay in VA and my parents are from NJ, I've made her exact drive hundreds of times to visit family. The moment you said his body was found in the bay I KNEW someone used the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It's so obvious and lazy on her account. The most direct route, full of tolls, didn't even bother to figure out that the Bay would drag him back in. RIP Bill McGuire
I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but the animal hair could have come from the hotel/motel room. Many hotels allow pets, and it's difficult to get hair out of carpets, bedding, and furniture.

Congrats on the engagement! As someone from the area, going to Delaware to not have to pay sales tax is legit. People come from all over the area to avoid sales tax. The only caveat is nowadays if you get something delivered to another state that you buy in DE, you still have to pay sales tax. But I believe that was a result of the internet sales boom, so it’s likely that wasn’t in place in 2004.

Definitely agree with you on that. Like Bella mentioned in the video, it would appear that the phone calls to her family were in some sort of a code. Those were definitely really odd to listen to. I get why none of them were charged with anything though, just because there was a lack of proof. But they likely knew she was guilty

Despite personally believing she probably did it, this case really goes against my jury belief of "beyond any reasonable doubt" for me. I'd need some actual hard evidence to know I'm basing it properly. We're not supposed to find them "not guilty" because we think they didn't do it, it's because it's innocent until PROVEN guilty. I've also seen a lot of people not get life in prison for murder when there are extenuating circumstances involving abuse, so it's very odd to hear she got sentenced for life for that, along with only circumstantial

I had never heard of this case but I grew up on the bay in VA and my parents are from NJ, I've made her exact drive hundreds of times to visit family. The moment you said his body was found in the bay I KNEW someone used the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It's so obvious and lazy on her account. The most direct route, full of tolls, didn't even bother to figure out that the Bay would drag him back in.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but the animal hair could have come from the hotel/motel room. Many hotels allow pets, and it's difficult to get hair out of carpets, bedding, and furniture.

As someone from the area, going to Delaware to not have to pay sales tax is legit. People come from all over the area to avoid sales tax. The only caveat is nowadays if you get something delivered to another state that you buy in DE, you still have to pay sales tax. But I believe that was a result of the internet sales boom, so it’s likely that wasn’t in place in 2004.
