Another thank you from me I’ve grown up with you in my life only fools and horses porridge open all hours and a touch of frost being just some of the programs I’ve watched dozens of times and still love now thank you ❤️
Everyone says Del Boy but my most memorable character is Jack Frost. His range in A Touch Of Frost was incredible, really showed how amazing an actor he was beyond just comic roles.
Probably before your time, he was in Do not adjust your set, 1967-69 alongside Monty Python guys. We used to come home from school looking forward to it, it was a zany show.
What more represents a True Brit than Del Trotter or Pop Larkin… both characters will live in heart until I die… I never tire of watching the full episodes on DVD… Thankyou David 😊👍🏻🇬🇧
I remember him as the shop boy in OPEN ALL HOURS with Ronnie Baker . I'm 52 and when I was recovering from an amputation following an accident ... I watched all of them , and with all the characters it was very very funny 🤣😅.
Sir David, we never forget any of your works. You are a legend, hero, we just love Del Boy that's all. Well done on your career, and look forward to hearing when the national theatre gets in touch. Enjoy your new found family xx
Most people would seem to remember Sir David only for "Del Boy", unfortunately; but I'll never forget his contribution to the success of ther late-night "Weekending" on Radio 4 in the 70s. So entertaining and, for me, one of the highlights of the week.
I have this dvd, especially special as I live in this area so know all the places. Brilliant account. We also have Diamond Geezer, Frost, Darling Buds of May and Only Fools and Horses. Love them all.
I may have been born in the 90's, i still watched only fools and horses and love del boy, and when he finally got Raquel in series 7 meant everything, he finally got where he wanted to be! I also watched wind in the willows and hearing David as mr Toad and Chief Weasel, that will always be my fondest memories Such a legend!! May he give more years of wonderful memories and may he live a long and happy life 😊
The best and most versatile actor this country has ever produced. Have loved everything he has appeared in. Why does he have to get old, at least his acting prowess will last forever.
Frost for me I think that's when I really felt he just gripped me completely and I was just bowled over by him, I was probably going through my teens at the time but he was so so good. Kind of like John Thaw completely capturing in Morse but will always be mesmerised by his performance in Goodnight Mr Tom.
I'd just like to thank David Jason, for all his work from Granville in Open all hours, thru Del Boy, to Jack Frost, to Granville in open All Hours with his son Leroy. Haven'tseen it yet. Don't get alot Downunda, Looking at BritTv though. Keep up the good work please m8!
If I ever got the chance to meet this legend I would say only two words to him "thank you" from the frost report through the del boy and open all hours eras on to Jack Frost and Pratchett. He has appeared in many areas of my life and enriched them all.
David, of course it's not the only thing you're remembered for, but it's because Del is so well loved. Granville was also brilliant, and Frost was a huge success. We of a certain age remember it all.
Never a Del Boy fan, I was a Frost fan so if I met Sir David there''d be no "Lovely Jubbly" only praise for his brilliant performances as Jack Frost. The interplay between him and Bruce Alexander as Mullet were priceless!
Well everyone else has said it, but I will as well. Sir David Jason, A national treasure, thank you for everything you have brought us through the years! Comedy and serious stuff. You deserve to go on stage at the South Bank National Theatre (even if it is for your 'Swan Song') Thank you again Sir
he does not need to escape from Dell boy, every actor outside of woke knows this, and every actor worth there salt knows that david is capable of anything and any part..
David J is a proper gent and a great bloke, as well as a brilliant actor. His Frost series is unbeatable. We're going to dig the boxed set out for Yuletide
I mainly associate David Jason as Granville from Open All Hours. My earliest memory was when He played Edgar Briggs, and I loved his character as Pop Larkin in The Darling Buds of May.
He's annoyed that some of his work is repeated on tv ?they don't on the BBC anymore they do on Gold, still copyrighted on You Tube is OFAH when other classic comedies are not, every actor needs a great scriptwriter and John Sullivan provided that ,it took David ages to finally appear at a OFAH fan convention and does it when it suits him ,I've always been a OFAH fan through my life and David should be thankful for it and having a great scriptwriter writing for the show.
Funny thing is when I see his face all I can think of is ‘Toad of Toad Hall’ - as an animator I absolutely adore the 1983(?) Cosgrove Hall Production of The Wind in the Willows❤
Frost, Darling Buds Of May, Porridge, A Sharp Intake Of Breath - to name a few I remember well. So many good things he's done. But actors who create a major iconic role are often remembered mostly for that, near the end of their careers.
Even before I became familiar with Only Fools and Horses, I knew Sir David in my childhood as the voice of Toad, Count Duckula, Danger Mouse and The BFG and that will always stay with me.
I know it's obvious but who cares: He looks so different from the David Jason we all love, know and remember. He looks a little forlorn and a little sad perhaps. And that makes me sad. For this man brought us practically a forever kind of happiness. He really is a symbol of when times were so much better in this country.
Hes a comedy genius !! Memories of david playing del boy makes me smile and remember my brother who passed away this year we both loved david playing del in only fools many a hysterical time we had watching him and Rodders 😂 happy days !!
I love Only Fools 😃 the best sitcom ever 👍 I can understand why he gets slightly upset that he's mostly remembered for playing Del Boy but I'm also a big fan of Open All Hours and Granville was a great character 👍
People will call out Del Boy’s saying’s, he is loved by everyone. But believe this, everything thing David has been in has been watched by millions. Would anyone call out hi Jack Frost ? David you are known for all your brilliant acting for sure. 🥰
Frost is still the best Cop series ever made. Thanks Sir David Jason for enriching my life
Bloody hell. You've never seen NYPD blue
Miami Vice.
@@richlee509Seen it! No comparison. Ones American, the other British. Different eras.

Love Count Duckula. And Danger Mouse was actually very successful in America. So the US didn't know DJ via Del Boy, but they knew him via Danger Mouse

Nothing is to late David Jason, you have always been a brilliant actor.
David Jason as Blanco Webb in an episode of Porridge was absolutely masterful.
The word legend gets thrown around far too frequently in this day and age, but Sir David is the epitome of one.
