My pot is the Cuisinart 733-24HNS 3.5 Qt. sauté pan with helper handle and cover. It is now discontinued by Cuisinart, but you can still purchase it in a set called the Chef's Classic Stainless 10 Piece Set (77-10NS)
Love how direct, concise and to-the-point this video was!!!! Too often, recipe sites and videos spend forever on their pre-rambling. You give us what we're looking to find and I appreciate that lol
I have been making popcorn my whole life, I primarily used an air popped machine, but after 20+ years my machine died, and I have not found its equal on the market. This tutorial gave me the most tender, fluffy and wonderful flavor of popcorn from my childhood! Thank you for sharing these tips
I've always hated stove popcorn as I always burn it. And today i managed to pop every single kernel without burning. Thank you so much for those great tips
Seriously, thank you so much. I tried to make some old-school popcorn a few months back and I burnt the heck out of it and my house smelled for days. I followed your guidance, and now I'm eating a delicious big freaking bowl of popcorn. Thank you! No more microwaved bags of corn for me.
Worked perfectly as described. Would you believe it? At 68, making my FIRST batch of popcorn the old fashioned way, using oil instead of hot air. Excellent.
Thank you, my dear it was my first time doing it. Your guidance helped me to get a pan of great popcorn. I wouldn't buy microwave popcorn anymore! Thanks again 😊
This is THE best way to make stove top popcorn. I’ve tried 3 times so far and have had 99% popped corn! You must take the pan off the stove for the break especially if you have an electric stove (residual heat). Tip for nonstick: - add oil to nonstick and heat with the tester kernels For stainless: Heat pan first EMPTY for at least a minute. Splash a few drops of water. It should bead off. It it takes more than a second to sizzle, it’s not hot enough yet. When splash test shows the pan is ready, drop the oil to coat the pan. Add tester kernels and shake. And follow steps in video. Hope this helps!
Me and my gf just made some using your video! Thanks so much 😊 very straightforward and we went down the rabbit hole, she's looking up popcorn recipes now lol
I have never been able to make good popcorn before watching your video. Now my popcorn is delicious. I watch your video again every time I make it and it’s always great. Thank you !
Thank you so much for this tip. Literally saved my life by saving my gut. Been burning popcorn for ages till I stumble on your video. Once again, thank you
My husband and I tried making stovetop popcorn without a tutorial yesterday and they just weren’t as crunchy and the kernels left a weird residual texture in the mouth after eating. This tutorial is so easy to follow and the popcorn turned out perfect!! Thank you so much!!
OMG! Thank you! 52 years old and finally tried it stove-top popcorn! Your tutorial was concise and simple. I appreciate that. First try turned out perfect. Thank you so much. This is my popcorn method goto from now on.
Wow. I tried this with unpopped kernels I collected from my microwave popcorn bags and it worked like a charm. Popped almost every kernel and no burning. Thank you for posting this video!
It works! 🎉
Thank you for sharing. I always make my popcorn on the stove the same way my dad did it. One thing I still do just like he did is to pour the popcorn into a large paper sack, pour the butter in and add some salt. Once done, fold the top of the sack down and give it a good shaking. Turns out so good.
thank you so much, i never eat popcorn so last time i tried i made the microwave ones, last time i burnt the hell out of them, this time i was too early , alot of the kernels were unpopped so i did this and now i have another full bowl, Thanks!~
These tips worked. I've been making popcorn for years but they always tend to be dry. I hardly burn my popcorn unless am unattentive to the pop. But following each step not a single kernel got burnt. Very nice soft texture and also non oily. I used 2 Tsp butter, 2 Tspn sugar as I was craving some slightly sweet popcorn (not a big sweet tooth)
The first time I tried making popcorn I burnt the lot, I didn’t realise it was such an art but I’ve just tried your tactic and it’s perfect! Thank you so much my popcorn angel 😇
Following this recipe my popcorn machine will go to the charity shop. They are so much nicer, none were burnt and only 1 kennel unpop...I also like that you explained how to flavour them as well. thank you.
Just made it! Delicious! That much butter made it a little less crunchy than I like, so I’ll do a bit less next time. I added a sprinkle of ranch dry seasoning and a hefty sprinkle of nutritional yeast. I also used an electric spice blender for my salt which made it into a powder for the powder. This was so good!
Hey miss I must thank you a million this is the first time I tried popping corns without burning the pot and the corn I am so happy to find this video because I had to throw away 2 of my mom's pots before thanks a million!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
We have been beseeched! What a great tutorial and perfect result. Kirkland sweet mesquite, montreal steak spice, cherry blossom shoyu and cinnamon. Yes, weird but tasty!
Just wow!!! I like to make popcorn over the stovetop only. Unfortunately, before today, I have never had such great success in making it. Today, I hardly had any kernels left un-popped. Add to it that not a single kernel burned. Thanks a ton for this video - this is the best video I have seen for this. Sharing what I did. I took a couple teaspoons of cold-pressed organic coconut oil to the pan and heated it at a high setting for a minute. I added a couple kernels as you suggested and followed the process until all kernels popped (just the same way as in your video). While the pan was cooling down, I made a mixture of virgin olive oil, onion powder, pink salt, finely powdered black pepper, turmeric, and lemon-pepper salt, and stirred it well. I drizzled this over the popcorn and mixed it well before savoring it hot and delicious!!!
You have this down to a science. I made popcorn on the stove for the first time tonight following your method, and it turned out beautifully! It’s also kind of magical to take the lid off and it’s just filled with beautiful popcorn! 😂 Thank you so much for this video ❤
I got gourmet popcorn as a gift for Christmas and finally got around to cooking it. It has been a least 20 years since I made popcorn on the stove. I said I got this, how hard can it be. I got out my Dutch oven poured enough oil to cover the bottom of the pot and added just a little more, just to make sure. Then I added the popcorn, enough to cover the pan, and put it on medium heat. Nothing happened so I added more oil, and put the heat up a bit. Finally, I heard the first pop, see it's going to be great. Another 5 minutes later I had about 20% of the kernels popped and then the silence, so I took it off the heat and poured it into a bowl as 2 more kernels popped on the floor( what a waste I thought). The only thing that made it edible was the extra butter I poured over the few kernels that popped. At least I remembered not to pour it in one spot. Now it's time for TH-cam, next time I'll do it your way! Thanks for a great informative video, you have a great channel. Update: Followed your direction today ...Perfecto!
Perfect! Thank you! You’re amazing! Your instructions were clear and to the point. Our popcorn maker just broke, and your instructions were perfect! ☀️🙌🏽☀️🙌🏽
I don't comment on videos but damn this video was worth it. After burning so many batches of popcorn and my partner even putting his foot down and saying we are buying store bought if I keep burning it 😭 I watched this video and it was the best batch I have made in a long time 😄
I tried it with extra virgin olive oil on medium heat with the same saute pan and it worked out totally fine. Thank you for a better method than using my plastic air popper. That said, corn is unhealthy, so I will stop eating it after I finish up the rest of what I have, and replace it with popped sorghum, which is lectin-free.
yep. might have made the finest batch of popcorn ever. thanks. the trick is the ghee for best flavor and to let the kernels warm up before placed back on stovetop. thank you.
Really? A shallow pot? I was not expecting that! I’ve been making stovetop popcorn as my specialty for like 15 years but I’ve been afraid to use a more shallow pot. Will give it a try! Oh, also- nutritional yeast! 😊
I follow the directions on the jar of popcorn: 1. Add oil and corn to pan. 2. Cover with lid slightly ajar. Place on medium heat. 3. Once kernels begin popping, lift and shake frequently until popping slows. Immediately pour popcorn into bowl. Popcorn is perfect every time. I do add one more step: Because I only use a 2-quart pan for 1/4 cup corn, I place half a paper towel across the top of the pan before placing the lid. It helps the steam to escape and catches the oil that splatters.

Never in my life, I had all my popcorn popping without failure this well!!!! Resting the popcorns in the pan for a minute really worked. Thanks!
Mine are sparkling white
Worked perfectly as described. Would you believe it? At 68, making my FIRST batch of popcorn the old fashioned way, using oil instead of hot air. Excellent.
I'm 65 and this was my best pot of popcorn too!!
You can also use no oil in the stove if you don't like oil
Me too; 64, Been popping it wrong for 50 years. Every kernel popped, and very big and puffy.
I'm 35, and I will keep you informed when I do mine. lol
34 and this is my first time 😢
Thank you, my dear it was my first time doing it. Your guidance helped me to get a pan of great popcorn. I wouldn't buy microwave popcorn anymore! Thanks again 😊

This is the kind of detail I was looking for. Thanks for the excellent video!
Thank you! I just burnt most of my kernels and went straight to youtube and found this for next popcorn making ❤

Wow this is called science of making popcorn. I can't wait to put my knowledge to use soon. Thanks
Finally! I did it right for the first time of my life! Thank you, you've earned a new subscriber 🎉
If you grind the salt with coffee grinder to a powder, it can cover the popcorn more evenly.
I just tried this method using ghee and measuring half the amounts; it was PERFECT 🎉
Thank you so much 🤗
I followed this recipe exactly and it turned out wonderful! Thank you so much! My first time to cook popcorn from the stove! ❤
Don't your fingers get oily when you eat the popcorn you made?

Hope I saw this clip before burning my pot, lol. Thanks a lot. Gonna have me some popcorn tonight!
Girl! That’s a perfect system!❤
Thanks for fully explaining this. Now I know how to avoid unpopped and burnt kernels
really nice guide! I always burned everything but with this way of pre heat I did not burn any, didn't expect it to go well in my first try
yep. might have made the finest batch of popcorn ever. thanks. the trick is the ghee for best flavor and to let the kernels warm up before placed back on stovetop. thank you.
Thank you so much for this, my first time actually not burning the kernels 😂
Thank you very informative .
Thank you so much ,I done it exactly as you said 😊 they came out like at the movie 🎬 ,the only difference is I use olive oil.😃
I like to add organic Olive Oil to my popcorn ... tastes just as good as butter once you add salt to it.
Olive oil and salt go together sooooo good!!!
This worked perfectly, amazing tutorial
Really? A shallow pot? I was not expecting that! I’ve been making stovetop popcorn as my specialty for like 15 years but I’ve been afraid to use a more shallow pot. Will give it a try! Oh, also- nutritional yeast! 😊
My popcorn turned out perfectly!
Every time I plan on cooking popcorn , I come here .Thank you ..
Thank u, ur method helped me a lot. I didn't burn the popcorn but it was tough. Wondering if it's the brand of popcorn I used
Thank you! Been burning popcorn for 20 years now
Going to try this like right now. I grew a ton of corn this season and burnt my first attempt at popcorn. I’ll come back with an update
The deep pot absorbes the lower heat soak quicker and doesn't "retain" the high down low
I follow the directions on the jar of popcorn:
