  • I just received my XGC/Integrum Retro OS Lightgun drive and want to show how nice it looks and how easy it was to get going. It took me longer to pull my Cab off the wall and swap the drive in my PC than it did to configure the Gun4IR guns and start playing. (15-20mins.)

    What front end were you using for this retrobat? Such an awesome light gun cabinet it blew my mind
    Edit: nvm saw big box. I should purchase that I still have the launchbox and I could use those extra features

    I just realized in the video I say my guns are GunCon2, they aren’t, they are SuperJolts. Sorry about that, I gave my old GunCons to Ray to mod as a trade in when o bought the SuperJolts from him.

    With an IPAC you can configure buttons to raise and lower the volume so you don't have to go inside the cab

    • @andrew21742
      @andrew21742  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I’ve done that on some other cabs. Some emulators have given me trouble with it and things go a little wonky. For the most part the volume is fine and rarely needs adjusted. Unless I have a lot of people over and I need to make it louder because all the machines are going at once.

    Hi Andrew, can I please ask how your pedals connect , plug type etc are they connected to the iPac? And have you been able to connect a left/right pedal setup for tc5, thanks in advance

    Thanks for the video. I have a pc built arcade with GUN4ir led installed. I may have to purchase the hardrive also from XGC….can you please just confirm it is a simple plug and play and buttons on your arcade were automatically configured to the hardrive?

    • @andrew21742

      The setup is as simple as anyone could possibly make it. There are a few things you’d need to do. This is an OS drive, so it includes the operating system, which means when you install it you may have to update windows drivers for the components in your PC. Motherboard, Wi-Fi, usb controllers etc… They also sell a Light Gun drive that is an add-on drive which does not include the OS. When it comes to setting up the guns, there is a tutorial video on a folder on the drive that shows everything you need to do to get going. All setup for Gun4IR is done in the Gun4IR software, which includes checking that your sensors are positioned correctly, calibrating your guns, and making sure the buttons on your guns are set to the correct key bindings. Once that is complete just write the configuration to the guns by clicking the button and then launch BigBox and play. Nothing else to do. No scripts, no MS runtime files, and no additional software to configure. You’ll find nothing easier…

      @@svenop i tried one of the Wii hunting games this morning and it won’t even let me start the game until it detects a Wii nunchuck. So that’s more of a limitation of the emulator/game than anything. My guess is that Jason included them so they’d be there for future updates to the emulator if they get them working, but he probably should have just left them off or hidden them in the wheel. Unless he plans to offer Dolphin bar support in the future or something, as that’s the only way I could see them being playable.

      My guns are SuperJolt’s from the PS2 days, they have a selector switch that turns it on and off. But you should shoot Ray a note and ask if he can modify your guns with a switch. He does all kinds of amazing stuff.

    One other question, what is the vr controller on your vpin? Do you have any vids showing this in action?

    • @andrew21742
      @andrew21742  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a custom controller I made using the XGC 2n1 arcade controller as inspiration. With VR you need a keyboard attached to your Vpin. I didn’t want my kids having access to a keyboard, but I wanted them to be able to play without me needing to be there every second to make sure nothing got messed up. So I used a iPac board and mapped just the keys you need for VR to buttons. The round openings are where you put the Oculus controllers when you aren’t using them. I have about 30mins of video shot for my VR update video, but my Oculus Rift S is an “original”, meaning first batch and it isn’t playing well with the RTX 3080 graphics card that is included in the XGC Titan package. It works perfect in my older gaming Pc with a 2080Ti, but there are known driver issues with the 3080/3090, 4080/4090 RTX cards. Oculus support told me it was the link cable because it was first gen. I paid $170 to get the actual Oculus cable and that still didn’t resolve the issue. (Issue is the head set just turns off of locks up) I’ve tried extra USB power, and HDMI boost devices in line on the cable that have worked for some, but unfortunately not for me. So… the Vr video will be delayed until I get that resolved or switch to my Oculus Quest2. (My quest 2 has custom vision lenses installed for my vision correction and I don’t let the kids mess with that on.)

      @deviusrme ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrew21742 wow that’s awesome, I hope you can get a resolve and be able to utilise what you have, if you get a chance I’d love to hear about your pedal setup on the light gun cab, I’m getting xgc to make a pedestal style one for me and would like to be able to have the option to add pedals also, would be curious as to how you’ve done it so I can make it happen on mine, cheers again for your time

      @@deviusrme my Gun4IR guns that I bought from Ray at RPEG Electronics are SuperJolts. So the guns themselves hook to the peddles and are configured in software just like an extra button on the gun. But stand alone peddles are just as easy. They get wired to a controller board and configured as a button. I set them up to be a reload for the games that don’t use a peddle.

      Just realized I didn’t answer all your questions. I only bought the OS drive. (I did by Sinden guns from XGC with the premium deck they are building for me as well) As of today, XGC doesn’t have approval to sell Gun4IR guns. They are however approved to install the LEDs in their cabs so Gun4IR is ready to go when you pick up the guns. I have a feeling they may be available as a package in the future.

      I have about $1200 in it. It’s cut from one sheet of 3/4” plywood. The Gun4IR guns are 70% of the cost. The monitor is a decased Samsung TV that was given to me. The graphics I did myself just using a bunch of clear logos in photoshop. GameonGraphics printed them for me for about $100. The PC is a micro form factor HP machine running a 1660 GPU I found on eBay for $125. You could save a ton of you build the Gun4IR yourself, but I simply wanted to spend my time on other things.
