It all goes back to Dembele leaving spurs. He was how we transitioned from defence to attack. Spurs haven't replaced him, they have tried with ndombole who has the skills but lacks motivation
We were so lucky to have a midfielder who not only was so technical but also had a world class work rate.
Dembele was so good he made Eric Dier look like a top class midfielder… just think about that

Yup from that January window he left it seemed to take a nosedive. Good news is Conte wanted Ndombele IIRC when he was at Inter, so he'll have a plan for him. I think Ndombele gets a worse rep than he deserves for being this lazy unmotivated guy who hates playing a full 90, he plays a lot more than I thought looking at the stats, but I agree it's frustrating that a player who on his day is unplayable and world class just isn't consistent.
If Conte can get "Lyon in the CL" Ndombele and "recent Argentina and Betis" Lo Celso, then (excuse the cliche) that's really like two new signings.
@@Wooldrog Letting Dembele go was right, he was coming towards the end of his contract and was struggling to maintain his fitness as he was aging. The mistake though was letting him go in the middle of the season. That was absolute madness, imagine having Dembele for the CL Final. 100% should have kept him until the end of the season.

I think they've seen with Covid & starting to return to normal they can really make the most of the Stadium as the matchday revenues when it's full are staggering, along with other events (like AJ/Usyk) perhaps they're in a better position to give Conte a good budget. They also restructured the Stadium debt which helped a lot, and maybe old Joe Lewis finally puts money into the club.
Either way I doubt a guy like Conte joins based on a vague gentlemans agreement.

Difference is Conte can resign at any moment. If Levy breaks his promises, Conte is gone without even a second thought. Kane was stupid enough to think Levy's promises was enough assurance for him to sign a 6 year deal over, or not try and improve his terms.

Be serious lol. Kane has to drop deep and practically play two roles for spurs because the midfield has been so poor when it comes to creativity. Last year he was a CF scorer and a midfield playmaker ffs. Can't always rely on someone to get you out of a hole. At some point other players have to step up too. Kane and Son can't do everything on their own.

Get rid off ndombele, Davis, dele and dier in the January transfer window…. Get in Vidal on a 6 months loan deal till summer, brozovic and a good defender I.e de vrij will be ideal and watch Tottenham finish minimum 4th this season

The reality is Ryan those big clubs are generally not interested in recruiting 'up and coming' managers where ever they are from. There are currently 7 British managers in the PL which is the most representation in the PL.

Bent pretty much hit the nail on the head in my opinion. Nuno lost his job when he put Harry Kane back in the starting 11. The first 3 games they looked solid and dynamic with 3 pacey players on the counter (Bergwijn, Moura and Son) and Kane slowed the counter, then Nuno wouldn't or couldn't drop him when he wasn't producing the goods.

When Conte took over Chelsea they had just finished 10th the season before, when he took over Juventus they were 7th in the table. People need either to give Tottenham some credit or to acknowledge what kind of manager Conte is.

The Chelsea comparison isn’t really close considering the squad of players he inherited had very recently won the Premier League and the League cup double in 2014/15. This Spurs side have won nothing, nor looked likely to win anything for some considerable time.
I agree that Conte is a top appointment, but let’s just remember the huge job he has in front of him.

City did to be honest, they didn't seem to ever seriously bid, and he's definitely worth more than what they did bid (200 goal contributions in like 250 EPL games, homegrown English for the Premier League rules which adds a lot even to average players, selling to a team in the same league, club talisman, his 3 year contract length remaining (if Hazard goes for well over 100m with one year remaining and Grealish is 100m then....yeah...).
Selling your star talisman for much less than his value to a team in the same league...I understand why Levy didn't sell. I'd have held out or waited for the Mbappe/Haaland merry go round and tried to sell him abroad cheaper like they did with Bale and Modric.

The difference between Spurs doing well and spurs right now is Harry Kane. Kane was involved in 16 goals this time last season vs 2 this season. Add 14 Goals to spurs this season and where would they be? Time for Kane to take some blame here.

Well! Don't be chock . Conte Will come in and improve the team directly. This man won premier league with a Chelsea team who no one believe in , with his devotion, commitment and consistency. And everyone else after him tried to copy his style of playing. He is a true leader. So I don't understand why Media is so unsure, hesitates about his performance. He deserves much more respect. It's not about the time of the contract, it's about right attitude and character! Which he has .
He also won so many titles with a Juve side that finished 7th and 7th before, but because they're the biggest team in Italy his achievements there are overlooked I think because they're expected to win it. Took an Inter side that finished 4th to a title. At Bari they were in a relegation battle and joining mid-season took them to mid-table and then promotion. Got Siena promoted in a season.
Guy is a legit genius. If he can turn Victor Moses into what he did...then there's no reason he can't turn players like Bergwijn, Hojberg, Dier, Lucas, Sanchez or even Dele, Winks and Doherty, into assets, and he has quality like Lloris, Romero, Kane, Son, Reguilon, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Emerson and youth like Bryan Gil, Skipp, Sessegnon, Rodon, Paskotsi, Scarlett, Nile John, Tanganga, Alfie Devine, with a few of them either already in or near the First Team.

Pundits saying 18 months isn't enough for Conte to turn Spurs around. These players got to the champions league final. Spurs are a couple of big players away from being a serious team. If you've got a world class manager who can get the best out of the players who a lot of them are very good players, and then you add a couple of big players, I can't see why Spurs can't go on to do big things.
Give conte two players, brozovic to partner hojberg in midfield and either de vrij or skrinar in defence and Tottenham will be a force to reckon with.

Theory. If Conte wins a trophy for Tottenham this season he leaves at the end of it. I have a feeling this is about proving a point and making a statement. The current team is finished that’s clear. He’s not getting any of the players he wants regardless of what he’s been told an he knows it. This is about motivating a great group of players to achieve something on the understanding that after that they all go their separate ways.
