You have to get rid of the corrupt referees and officials.
'Clear and obvious' is what hamstrings VAR. Just get the correct decision. With 'clear and obvious' you're taking what can easily be seen on replay as right/wrong decision and then making a subjective decision on whether that was clear and obvious or not.
Fines for the Referees involved!
Accountability for sure! You will quickly see a decline in "errors".
Verbal warning, followed by written warning followed by the sack. That's what everyone else gets if they don't do their job right. VAR needs to go. We tried it, but it can't work while humans are involved.
Maybe other way round...a perfect performance leads to bonuses...
@@zaidahmed9527 the brown envelopes from city will always be biger than the bonus or fine
Saying someone deserves a penalty well after the event is a cop-out. No action being taken in regard to the officials, so what's the point with this sort of thing happening way too often.
The problem is not communication. Just do your job properly
Var is brilliant, it’s the pgmol people operating it is the issue........don’t confuse incompetence(corruption) by individuals with an issue wth technology we’ve been crying out for for years
Don't confuse "we" with everyone. I never was "crying out" for VAR, I wish it never was introduced and I think it actually has made football worse
@@user-mv7kh5sv9z well you just made Ger1010's point. The very thing that made football worse is the incompetence/corruption of the human operating the VAR, not the VAR itself. The VAR was created & introduced to bring fairness into the game, thus it's not VAR's fault that PGMOL ruined it.
@@CollideWithTheSlope Well human input and 🖥️ input go hand-in-hand so if it's this much controversial after all this time then scrap it altogether
Brilliant comment 100% on the money
@@user-mv7kh5sv9z nah, let it be and improve it, VAR is one of the best things in footbal for a long time, teams losing games to offside goals that are easily sorted by VAR was never fun.
The Ref from the bayern game should be an example to the Premier league
We got that referee in the Europa League..... top referee, was excellent last night
Great refereeing performance and added to a good game. Get him in to Premier League - Why do the refs have to be English? Let's just get the best refs in the world.
Var needs Var
🎉
LOL
Everything stacked in the top six cartel favour
Been saying this since the start, let's hear what they're saying. Just like in Rugby and Cricket.
What the hell is that going to do?! You're hearing something that you have no control of. Listening-in on incompetence is not transparency. You're still going to get the same Monday morning apologies
Refs and var need completely retrained all in one room so everyone is on same page. Refs have ruined this season consistently, the only consistent thing they have done
I've stopped going to matches. What is the point? Celebrating a goal that can be discounted several MINUTES afterwards has removed the heart of the game. I fully expected to get "withdrawal symptoms" but I absolutely do not miss the feelings of abject frustration. I admit I was fully supportive of VAR before it started, but oh my days, how much I was mistaken!
BIN IT! And if people are still insistent or the premier league are in bed with the tech companies, then allow the managers to have 3 replays per game for any incident that they think was not called, a mistake by the ref or is possibly a foul, but it has to have happened within the previous 30 seconds, then they get 1 more should a game go to extra time/penalties.
Oooh I like this idea. A bit like cricket has 3 reviews per team. Could be interesting to try it
I agree with this to be fair but for offsides I’d leave it the way it is is because then if a team doesn’t review because they can’t see there would be uproar.
All 3 were penalties! The handball one was a definite pen going by todays rules. All fans are asking for is consistency and better communication. Why can't they adopt the same approach they take in rugby. All of these officials should be fined or at least banned and then made to take a refresher course or something. They are supposed to be elite referees, but it's plainly obvious they are not fit to do the job they are employed to do.
Give team 3 reviews each half , let them contest a decison they think is wrong
I would go 1 each half, 3 seems a lot.
@@NoFrictionZone 3 per game
@FlipFinderzThat could be 12 VAR stoppages per game. Way too many.
Much better to give each team 2 for the whole game and, like cricket, if you are successful with your VAR challenge, you keep it. If the decision is not overturned you lose it.
That puts the onus on the manager / captain / whoever to use it strategically.
@FlipFinderz someone already explained why 3 per half per team is too much. But I'm 58, I've watched more football than you can imagine.
Badge check in progress... Top six team confirmed... 'No penalty for opposition' decision confirmed. VAR check complete
Atwell didn't make an error he clearly had bias and threw the match
Would love to ask a high up at IFAB "what is the exact reason conversations need to be kept private?"
Part of the problem is the vagueness of the rules. I still cannot understand how, if a player plays the ball cleanly with no foul contact before the ball is played they can have a foul or penalty awarded against them. Yet we see this exact thing time after time. There also need to be a time limit as to how far back VAR can go to look at an incident in the build up to a goal being scored. And so the list goes on......
It is showing the manipulation of the referees, the referees should be held accountable.
Call it for what it is specifically, the VAR ,referees, who also referee regular games are being shown up for their complicit manipulation they have had over the years, which has become a habit and had been unchecked, because they had the excuse of only had one chance and angle to look at it
A table, give ref points at the end of the match, 3 points for a good game, 1 for average 0 for bad games with a possible point deduction for cheating. If they get relegated back to the championship > league 1 > 2 ect. Ofc if they get relegated they will have to have a wage cut
I am always puzzled that VAR was introduced to eliminate errors by on field officials cos the VAR will be replaying the incident at his own time and in slow motion. Now here we are you see an on field official missing a penalty incident that was supposed to be given, a VAR looks at it and misses it as well...its so confusing as to what the VAR is there for now?
The Third Goal Chelsea scored against Villa should have stood VAR is no good
And the one of Newcastle vs Arsenal stood en it was in the same scenario while the one of Chelsea was cancelled why. Var needs Var too😢😢
Just interview the officials after the game and let them justify/explain their decision
The ref could have been a Derby county fan.
Liverpool have had 14 12.30 kick offs. Miles ahead of all others... These decisions cost titles and affect results. Liverpool above all other sides have been affected by ludicrous decisions. It's a complete mess.
Agree..especially Spurs game where offside was called after a goal by Diaz
You know if you play the early game then you have longer to rest before your next game, all relative
@@pauljansen6650 Biology disagrees with your imaginings , all biology forms patterns disrupting that pattern affects the biology ,just because you can rationalise something in your imagination does not mean its real , because biology does not pay any attention to your left PFC
Exactly 👍… like rugby and cricket, broadcast it on the screens in the stadiums and hear the VAR chat. Then there’s NO chance of corruption!
Human error is making the decision for VAR.
Play the audio as the VAR conversations are happening live
Any business will shut down when reputation is gone. Its too late for discussion at this point. EPL is gonna end up like italia 2000s onwards with half empty stadiums.
'Nonsense' is thinking that a referee is somehow a superman who can't be influenced by his underlying allegiances
If we have to accept human error even with VAR, why can’t we just go back to letting the referee ref the game? At least we don’t have to put up with all the 4 minute checks etc then.
Because we all complained about that before...
Free VAR ....unleash the potential to correct game changing errors. The protocols and the restrictions of 'clear and obvious errors' are bringing referees into disrepute, millions see the farce of the referees mistakes being compounded by VAR on a regular basis. Get rid of the absurd and confusing, and simplify the rules.
Is it fair to say VAR has determined who wins this league?
VAR referees need to be different from the on field referees. THE TECHNOLOGY ITSELF IS NOT THE PROBLEM, THE GUYS SITTING AT THE MONITOR ARE.
Mic up the ref for broadcasting explanation, they sometimes don't explain in the stadium for cricket and rugby but always do over a broadcast. Hearing a reason in the moment will at least show the refs thought process.
What... is his background doing??
WOW
YES, definitely should bring in fines that go from the official in charge of the match and also explanations from the refs at the end of the games just like the players and managers do, tend to keep themselves away from the media for some mad unknown reason, cough.........CORRUPTION
the fact we have a show called mic'd up just shows we dont have transparancy on the pitch
It was 3 pens actually..but the last one on Hudson-odoi was a disgrace.VAR is killing the ga,e
The penalties wouldn't have been given without VAR either, the officials are clearly the problem here!
@@lukew6725 absolutely not giving the referee a free pass in this game as he was terrible. VAR though is sucking the enjoyment out of the game, actually making referees worse as they are starting to rely on it and imo will be out of the game in the next 5 years.
Have the 2 review system the same as in cricket.
Well it's 34 actually, but agreed. And can only be requested by the captain of a side within 15 seconds of the incident taking place.
VAR very disappointed me
The idea of clear and obvious error by the referee is the cause of all the problems. Of course the referee is going to miss situations because it happens so fast. Hence the referee should just go to the screen to determine what has actually happened and decide from there in all contentious situations and not let VAR decide whether the referee should go to the screen. Some decisions will still be 50-50 but at least they are made by the referee who has seen exactly what has happened.
Bin it. Absolutely bin it. No value is added but tonnes of ambiguity and confusion. It's making the game worse. If not binning, let the referee discussions during decisions be broadcasted LIVE in stadiums and let them be interviewed after the games similar to how players and managers are grilled after games.
Just get rid of it we're all done! Respect the referees decision in the game and play on!!
Clear and obvious error is BS! The correct decision should be given whether the referee sees it or not.
Center referees should go to the screen and decide falls or not ,but some one in the in the market deciding a penalt mistake is not good i i dea.
fine suspend and career ending when they make so stupid mistake
once they make mistake, give the team that affected to those like forest get penalty which in this case and give them the point
The problem isn't VAR as it is supposed to take pressure off the ref with the right result. But if video evidence isn't enough , football is doomed.
Decisions made by vested interest are not moral and or just.
if there are always going to be errors then just remove VAR! Let the errors come from the ref as it did in past. VAR is utter cr@p
Better to forget all about this VAR BS
VAR should recommend that ref go to the monitor to judge for themselves in 50-50 situations or where its obvious the ref might have missed a detail. What should be briefed to the ref though is that it's alright to look at the monitor and stay with their original decision. I feel that VAR is afraid to refer the ref to the monitor because its 99% sure in that case that they overturn their decision which is not always correct.
VAR is good at dealing with offside. My suggestion is that other offenses, the referees should be the one that instruct VAR whether to review or not. That way the authority goes back to the on field officials
If refs aren't held to a consistent standard, they won't get any better. Now I'm not at all a fan of how easy it is to blame a ref for getting a subjective decision wrong in terms of popular opinion... but there is such clear lines in place and VAR is getting almost none of the work that it was implemented to achieve done. We don't need VAR to tell us what we can already see... we need it to look objectively at the scene from an unbiased standpoint and say yeah actually I get from where you are on the pitch maybe it didn't look that way but I've got all the info here in front of me and I think if we looked at this together we'd get a better picture of what really went on. 9 times out of 10, if you won a match you'd want it to be because you performed better but nowadays teams can't even get that because until VAR gets sorted, they won't get the credit they deserve
Getting relegated to the championship. VAR just hasn’t performed good enough in this ruthless league.
What next for VAR?? How about the fkng bin!
So the latest spin from PGMOL is that the problem is 'communication'? Not poor refereeing ?
How does announcing the poor decision to the stadium help. I'm at home watching on TV and can clearly see the bad decision, explaining it makes no difference.
VAR is not the problem. It's just a tool. Terrible refereeing is the problem.
Why not bring in referees from abroad? We bring the best players from around the world, so why not do the same with refs. The English refs are not up to the job.
Isn’t this news an old replay?… out of content ?
All referees really want is their names on the back of the shirts 🤷🏼♂️
Have official Var Assistants not dodgy referee's who help their mates out ,also Mike Deans comments should have been punished .
The refs were incompetent to start with, introducing a system doesn’t change the fact that the refs are still incompetent. Improving the standard of refs is the fix to this mess.
Scrap it
I am starting to think that VAR has made the centre referees are getting lazy. Their decision making is horrible, they are not doing their jobs anymore
The problem is not VAR, the problem is the referees and the VAR officials. If we performed how they have done the last few seasons in our jobs we wouldn't have a job. Terminate a couple of contracts for clear errors and you will soon see a change in officiating.
English premier league referees and VAR are the worst thing ever. But why when the same referees doing very well in uefa games? In short they are corrupt in England
The game between bayern and real madrid is proof of the pudding, there will always be controversy but all the stop starts, and extended 20 minutes per game is detrimental to the game. I would rather not have var. The game last night was free flowing with very good officials on pitch. Not much extra time either. Was a breath of fresh air.
Stop making TV shows talking about how crap your decisions were, just fix the bloody problem
All three were clear pens it's a cheat and the fa needs to step up and apologise and sort it all out.
One penalty 😂
We've been murdered by VAR all season. We're probably 10 points worse off
I'd say easily 10-15 games an incorrect decision has influenced our games.......that's around 40% of games.......but we should just accept the apology and letters each time and be quiet!
3 pens
Good tech makes fewer errors and requires less human interaction VAR does neither of these things.
"VAR is here to stay" -Yes, lets keep this joke of a system that has ruined the enjoyment of the game and made it not worth watching and for something that is a spectator sport it`s unforgivable. Well done, you`ve finally killed the game after a long time trying and succeeding to elevate The Greedy Sky6, how many substitutes can a team have now 9? what a joke nearly a full team on the bench!
Grown up sports like Rugby have grown up fans and players - football in this country doesn't have either of those.
Get rid, completely ruined the game,it’s taken all the passion and excitement out of football.Watched loads of championship games this season and enjoyed them much more than premier league games simply down to no VAR,players and refs get on with it just as it should be instead of stop starting every 5 minutes to check if someone’s arse is offside
Well said it belongs to the people…VAR must change the referees are inept.
Bin VAR until you get the right tec with the right people and new refs and officials 🤨 . You can afford it Premier League it's spoiling the game 😤
Its not VAR you donuts its the TV showing every game
in the old days you didn't see every corrupt Celtic crowd teams decision by the Refs
since Covid you started making it easier to watch all the games
And we know can see how obvious it is that certain teams are protected by the Refs and other teams are playing under a clearly different set of rules
I mean you wanted to do the Howard Webb propaganda program
But when it features a decision costing Liverpool points every week
I mean come on
The last few seasons have brought the whole history of the Premier league into disrepute
Were Man U really that good or did the Refs award them 15 points a season and dock Liverpool 15 points
Is that what happened , its beginning to look that way
Did you see anthony taylor making up the rules against liverpool on saturday....Gakpo should of put the ball in the net...
4k frame-by-frame slo-mo video replays on professional studio reference monitors isn't the problem..
(hint: it's the PEOPLE, ffs)
Again, hire younger and diverse. We've been over this now a thousand times, for years.
Refs are the problem, not VAR.
VAR makes no decisions, they just show the refs replays
Well VAR are refs assisted by video replays. That's the only difference between on-field refs.
Unconscious bias
It happens in the nfl so y not soccer
Pathetic journalists still making excuses for PGMOL. Deflecting by talking about semi-auto off-side which is entirely separate issue of VAR assistant making non-sensical decisions and poor communication protocol (yet again). Saying Howard Webb is working hard and is down-to-earth guy, so what? It's the results and outcome that is important. It proves these journalists are too close to PGMOL and EPL and don't want to upset those people in power. How can they say Mic-Up is good? A 'show' where Howard Webb just gaslighting the fans again and again. Apologies means nothing when they don't take action to correct the problem.
we deserved 1 how tf do u not challenge him that show is bs
There’s no way that there were two..possibly one in the Everton vs Forest game
There was 2 at the minimum.
What a clown....you'd be a perfect ref 🤡
Agree, just 1
Go back to the way it was before var.. Back then the referee was a talking point on what was done wrong and right and what was not clear. They where a part of the game before, But we all knew they were humans and humans make mistakes. Now, because of var, they have no excuse and they become villans. Also var is ful of mistakes and dont add ANYTHING positive to the game. Just more problems and take away moments in games (celebrations are delayed, an offside desition takes for ever, etc etc.
Give refs the power they had before, and get rid of var and all the other refs that have joined inn on each game. Its all fkn BS.
it is obviously corrupt come off it
Our “best refs” in the PL are terrible and should be fined or match banned for a few games because they’re biased and need glasses
Corrupt PGMOL and Premier league 🔥
Get rid of it no real football fan likes var
*I HATE V🖥️R* . It has been the worst thing to be introduced to football. The same Monday morning apologies are going to be the order of the day for seaons to come.
Howard Webb was a 💩 ref....How hes head of pgmol is a joke
