Ipswich on the verge of promotion to the Premier League

Ipswich moved within a single point of securing automatic promotion to the Premier League after a 2-1 win at Coventry on Tuesday night.
The Tractor Boys are now three points clear of third-placed Leeds, meaning a draw at home to Huddersfield on Saturday - who are all but relegated already - will be enough to take them back to the top flight for the first time since 2001/02.

@@__meilleur Don’t be. For most people happiness is u shaped. Happy childhood, tough in the middle with all the competing demands and better as you age. I am 68, divorced and love life. I have not lived in Ipswich since 1976 but plan to go back, get a season ticket and make a new life in familiar surroundings. Can’t wait.

My son plays for Ipswich under 8 and all I can say is what a great set up all the way through from the younger ones up to the top and you can see it paying off come on Ipswich one last push

Incredible achievement. I watched them last year in League 1 at Exeter City and they were easily the best team I saw that season at the real St James Park. Never thought they'd do back to back though, the stuff dreams are made of
I'm a leeds fan and i congratulate Ipswich for what they are surely going to achieve! They have been immense and mostly relentless. Leeds just ran out of steam. Ipswich and leicester nearly did but eventually got across the line. i hope they both do well when they go up.

It's definitely a case of head v heart for us Town fans! We never in our wildest dreams expected to be 2nd with 1 game to go, so of course we're celebrating! These past 2 seasons have been incredible, especially after 20+ years of hurt! BUT a lot of us are also aware of what the Premier league has become! Corporate and only interested in the top 6-8!
Thankfully, we're extremely well run. Our owners see this as a long-term project and have a team below them, making sure we never break FFP! It will be tough, though, but right now, we're on cloud nine 😎💙🚜

And to think when they were relegated from the Champo they'd been there for 17 seasons. A long time to essentially stand still. Not many clubs can manage that kind of consistent disappointment. Cannot wait to see them back in the top flight!

@@73dlb yes you are right mate Fisons was once a sponsor , the orange was originally our third strip we used in Europe and about 20 + years ago my sons first shirt was an orange one with Green king as sponsor you can't get better than that a Suffolk brewer on the ipswich shirt.BTW fisons were also a local business.

@@mattpryokra2245yeah well the issue with those teams is that they didn’t recruit well in the summer, Luton recruited top end championship players so that when they go down they’ll go up again, Burnley basically didn’t try and get back their best loans that got them promoted, and Sheffield United recruited so poorly that they basically built a mid table championship team. I’m sure Ipswich will see this and recruit smarter, as it isn’t always the case that newly promoted teams go straight back down if they’re run smartly (look at Brighton, Brentford and Fulham in recent years)
Sky Sports think The Prem' is be all and end all in football... Got news for you, it isn't... What fans want , is a feel good factor at their clubs. What comes with that is irrelevant..... For my money, the Prem' is a circus. Moving up through the lower divisions, meeting real fans, and being involved in matches with real "community clubs", is the essence of British football.. The Prem' is soul less... I've enjoyed our run under KM.. Doubt I'll watch any where near as many games if we make it up.
