    thanks so much for making this video. wanted to modify my wrangler but I don't need the extreme rock crawler. the setup in this video is exactly what I would need for my purpose for the truck. awesome build...thank you

    My girl and I love to camp and love going on long trails and setting up camp where ever I want. In a Jk build I need something that’ll help store all the gear, rip through the trail and provide a nice place to set up camp

    Good video can you turn down the volume on the rock backing track. It is difficult to understand what you are saying as I am British.
    I would imagine that your other foreign subscribers are having problems understanding you.
    Again good content.
    I want to use mine on the road but our underground carparks have various height restrictions and we love the look of the jeep but lifting it not practical for us, so lowering it with bigger wheels and smaller tyre wall would be a better option for us so is bagging the only option?

      Plenty of people i know are running 37s on stock gears, while im not saying i would run or reccomend it, theyre jeeps go hard offroad and dont show a sign of slowing down (till they break something of course). 100% agree with you on the axles though, they will definatley break.

    Was there any rattling from the tube doors? And if so is there adjustment for reducing/eliminating it? Looks like you were having fun, now crank some tunes!

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was a little bit of rattling coming from the doors during the test drive, but it was most noticeable during the video due to the amplification of the microphone. You can adjust the door striker for a more snug fit, and the doors themselves have rubber isolators that keep the door snug against the body. -Jake

    I have The same lift and front and rear bumpers running 35's thinking about Re gearing what do you think I was thinking 4.56somebody please answer

    • @SmokeytheJeep
      @SmokeytheJeep 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      V13jay 4.56 would be perfect IMO. Some who like tall gearing will say 4.88, but it's overkill unless yours is a dedicated trail rig.

    • @v13jay54
      @v13jay54 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Smokey the Jeep thank you so much for replying that helped so much!!!!! Thanks

    • @SmokeytheJeep
      @SmokeytheJeep 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      V13jay Happy to help! Here's some info I posted about gearing on my blog awhile back that might be helpful, too.
      Multiply your desired tire size by your Jeep’s factory gear ratio. Then, divide that figure by your original-equipment tire size. Round off the resulting figure to three digits, and match it to the closest available gear ratio. For example, I plan to run 35-inch tires on Smokey. The equation would look like this:
      35 X 3.73 = 130.55
      130.55/ 32 = 4.0796875 (Round up to 4.08)
      A 4.08 is a near match to the factory-offered 4.10 gear ratio. But, of course, the performance of the 3.8-liter V-6 and my factory 3.73 gearing is sluggish at best. So, let’s plug in the lowest (highest numerically) factory ratio, the Rubicon model’s 4.10, into that equation.
      35 X 4.10 = 143.5
      143.5/ 32 = 4.484375 (Round off to 4.48)
      The closest match to 4.48 would be 4.56, which is a popular gear choice for 35s. So, in our examples, we see that a 4.10 gear ratio would provide performance and fuel economy equivalent to my stock X-model gearing, while a 4.56 ratio would offer increased performance along the lines of what a stock Rubicon might normally see.

    Would you say running 37's on a stock dana30 like on that Sahara is ok if youre not rock crawling lol? were there any axle mods to support the tire size and or regearing? I'm just wondering because I know dana30's arent the strongest axles

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Running 37's on the stock axles as a daily driver/beach vehicle shouldn't pose a problem. It will definitely cause the Jeep to be sluggish, but I wouldn't worry about the axles imploding like they would if you were to take it rock crawling. Personally I would do a re-gear to 4.56 and swap the front axle to a Dana 44 or chromoly axles if this was my Jeep. -Jake

    Does a lift void a jeeps warranty?

    • @LucidAlbo
      @LucidAlbo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think so, unless its a MOPAR lift or mods since MOPAR its owned by FCA

    • @shadvan9494
      @shadvan9494 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you installed an aftermarket part. at least in the USA anyway. so adding a lift does not void the warranty, as long as the failure in not related the aftermarket part installation. They are obviously not going to warranty the aftermarket part itself, but they may not warranty any damaged axle mounts or frame mounting points if they are removed or damaged during installation of the lift. some lift instructions require you to remove the original frame mounting points so it may void the warranty on the frame, but the dealer must prove that the failure is related to the aftermarket part. same thing goes with engine mods. if you add a cold air intake and aftermarket exhaust, and flash the ECU with a performance tune, and the engine throws a rod, they are still required to warranty it. however if it doesn't pass emission control, you may be required to reinstall the OEM parts and flash the ECU back to factory before they will warranty any failed emission device. SEMA fought the big car companies back in the 70's for this.

      I would say it's more of an all around speed focused rig. The suspension is set up to be able to take high speed bumps and easily traverse any terrain you throw at it. However given the tire setup and lift we went with, you wouldn't get the best performance you could if you were to take this rig rock crawling. -Jake
