I’m a white boy from nh and when I was in my early 20S I was facing first degree assault and looking to do time I was a biker dude and pretty good sized and could handle myself I was lucky to be found innocent at the trial do too insufficient evidence but when I was awaiting trial I made sure that I was getting in shape and even took karate lessons after the fear of this I changed my ways and became a productive citizen

To hold a young man crying their heart out. This was about 10 yrs. Ago. Still feel that pain. I worked with Rape survivors. Females, Males, Children, Adults, Nuns, and Elders. Predators are Wickedness and Evilness. Jail is the same. Don't get me wrong. There are people who need to out of society. Jail is supposed to be rehabilitated if people are going back into Society. I was locked up in a Texas county jail for 8 months. Not a long time but it was enough to get used to life in there. I took 5 solid beatings before I stopped getting tested in the first month. I suck at fighting but I knew I had to. It took getting to know some people in there before things got better. What I learned was even when you loose a fight in there you win respect for fighting. If you punk you loose all respect. I feel lucky tho I was in a 50 inmate cell block. Got moved to a 30 bunk and got made a trustee on month 2. At least I got out of the gladiator tank.

I did 5, best advice. Stay to yourself, workout, remember someone is always watching you. Be ready to fight, and when you fight, fight hard. Don’t take no bs from nobody, no matter the size of the person or if they mask it as a joke. You have no friends and don’t need to make new ones. Don’t let nobody stand behind you, and when your walking use your shadow to watch your back. Stay vigilant and ready to do what you haft to make it back home.
I was 19 when I first when in. A guy looked at me in the way I thought was disrespectful. I got my combination lock and tied it to my belt, and when he wasn't looking, I attacked him and kept swinging until the guards came and sprayed the hell out of me.
I remember a friend of mine told me his uncle was in prison and he got told he was about to get clapped and he went to his cell and drank toilet water and it gave him diarrhea and he rubbed all his shit all over his cheeks and he said "how 'bout now?" no one messed him afterwards

Idk about other states, but as a CO in Louisiana, if we witnessed ANY sexual assault, we had a legal obligation to attempt to stop it, and to report it. And honestly, I worked in a men's prison, filled with convicted felons. More than inmate on inmate sexual assaults, was the fact that soooooooo many of them would whip their junk out and yank on it, right in front of me! I can't begin to to count the number of sex offenses I wrote up.

Question. I've heard that when your new going to prison that you should if your able, stand up really violently to the first guy that tries to harm or intimidate you and then others may not think about testing you. And to let others see you do it. Yet also be respectfull to others. I've also been told that if you fight the first guy who tries to hurt you or harrass you that if guys friend joins in so now your fighting 2 people that other prisoners won't like that cause it's not a fair fight and that other prisoners will intervene to help you cause they will respect that you stood up for yourself.
You see some crazy shit in the Florida DOC. This dude was in Sumpter, which is pretty country, but I was at Jackson C.I. up by the Alabama/Florida/Georgia border which is about as country and backwoods as you get. I was a young fairly clean cut looking white dude and it's true. There are some very specific hunters out there looking for exactly what this dude says. I was lucky to have some good homies. Other dudes weren't so lucky. Crazy shit.

My Ex told me he was raped by 2 boys in Juvenile. He uses drugs and has been using them since a teen. He used to cry or yell out loud I've been raped but only when he was drinking or angry about something else. I've heard that when your new going to prison that you should if your able, stand up really violently to the first guy that tries to harm or intimidate you and then others may not think about testing you. And to let others see you do it. Yet also be respectfull to others. I've also been told that if you fight the first guy who tries to hurt you or harrass you that if guys friend joins in so now your fighting 2 people that other prisoners won't like that cause it's not a fair fight and that other prisoners will intervene to help you cause they will respect that you stood up for yourself.
You see some crazy shit in the Florida DOC. This dude was in Sumpter, which is pretty country, but I was at Jackson C.I. up by the Alabama/Florida/Georgia border which is about as country and backwoods as you get. I was a young fairly clean cut looking white dude and it's true. There are some very specific hunters out there looking for exactly what this dude says. I was lucky to have some good homies. Other dudes weren't so lucky. Crazy shit.

My Ex told me he was raped by 2 boys in Juvenile. He uses drugs and has been using them since a teen. He used to cry or yell out loud I've been raped but only when he was drinking or angry about something else. It got so bad the night of my Uncles funeral he wanted to take my car with no headlights to Wisconsin to sell his foodstamps for drugs at 1 a.m. I was tired...I had gone thru 2 yrs of this with him. Spending my car note money gettin it towed, never able to help with anything n he wouldn't get a job. He chose drugs is why he's my ex!!

Nah my first day in prison in Florida south Florida reception I was 23 and scared af... I told myself I'm guna die in here or kill someone cuz I made a choice right there that if it came to it I'd die before let someone take advantage of me whether trying to extort or making advances.. I already told myself I'm guna die in here or kill someone... I hate rapist and they put me up on game in jail.. after standing up for myself win lose or draw.. it was all good and after that my home team had my back other people from palm beach , Broward, and Miami Dade County was considered hometeam at that time.. now I hear it's changed a lot but violence and respect go a long way
