How did you secure the hiking pads (seats) to the gunwale? is it just slid thru the scupper holes? I would love to replicate it on my GIS.

Excellent, but how do you get it down? On all four of my asymetric spinnaker boats the spinnaker retracts into a "sock" using a retrieval line from the middle of the sail to pull the sale into the sock. Forst tighten the sail by pulling on the retrieval line, then release the halyard and haul away and the sail slips into the sock under control. It is in this phase I suggested that there could be conflict between tight spinnaker and front end of yard. This system used on symetric spis like 5o5 and Dutchmen. The haliyard and retieval line are normally the same continuous line.
Some where I have my copy of "Dinghy Systems which may have photos. I will try to find it.

In the moment by hand, wind from behind, catching the windward sheet and recover it by hand.
