They were even better originally. Michael "Koji" Fox, the English translation director and co-lead of lore and world building actually does these vocals, and he originally threw in a bit of profanity they made him remove.

So, after listening to this track on average 5 times a week for the last 4 years, today I finally did this fight myself. I nearly cried. I only regret that it's taken me this long to finally get into FFXIV.

You know what my favourite part of the fight is? When the DPS go to deal with the four adds in the timegates.
We finish them off before the thing in the middle finishes charging. We see the barrier drop and a few people dive out of the way of a giant laser.
Just think about it for a moment.
Arcanum Symphonis those few people is the raid fighting Alexander in the past, if you recall from the cutscene the goblin leader yells that the time field faded, same happens in this fight, so you got out of the time stop because of yourself

The song is overall, very much about good old Alex. Alexander is clearly a giant machine.
Alexander is playing his own hype music while fighting you.
Alexander is inside himself, as himself, summoning himself, while playing his own hype music.
Huh.
Even with the official lyrics out, the song is still incomprehensible, but it's super satisfying to sing along after 6 months of wait.
Imagine this music actually blasting out of some speakers on alexander primes body while youre fighting him xD

After listening to this a good number of times and wondering why the music and the "Sonic Boom" aren't timed with the Divine Judgment, I noticed something that I haven't seen anyone else point out yet. That alarm-like sound seems to me like a reference to the Seven Trumpets of Revelation, with the "Sonic Boom" coming in at the seventh time it plays.
3:12 So...he's summoning himself...whilst being in himself? Alexanderception?
..Yo.. A11 ost is called backward and forward right? but A12 is called SONIC BOOM.

That's one hell of a Divine Judgement. And my favorite FF summon gets WINGS. Like FF9.
The visuales of Divine Judgement are great but imho Teraflare of Bahamut still takes the cake. The sound of the heartbeat while the countdown ticks down. The first time we got there and survived it was really epic.
Yeah Teraflare in T13 looked nicer but hey, Alexander is my favorite summon in the FF series. I'm glad they gave it wings cause the FF9 version was the best in my opinion.
True. It's really great that they took the FFIX version of Alexander with the wings. Overall the final fight is well done and they found a good ending for the story. I also liked the boss before the last one which is from FFIX as well. The transforming robot.
Personally coil was my favorite raid because of Bahamut, the story and the fights itself. Turn 12 and 13 set a high level of epicness for me. Never felt so euphoric doing a boss in a video game as I was at Bahamut Prime when it still was actual content.
The way how SE designed the Alexander raid (two difficulties, gear already acquired in normal mode, etc.) ruined it a bit for me because it became less motivating.
They split the raids to two difficulties so people can actually enjoy the lore and not get destroyed by it. The savage Alex raids are harder than the Binding Coil raids at that time in my opinion.
I understand why they did it but it made the raid less motivating for me. You know the story after clearing normal mode and you got the gear (vanity) out of it. What is left is optimizing stats (getting best in slot gear) and the achievement for beating the last turn in savage mode. That's it.
My static broke at A3s insane dps checks so we took a raid break. Never tried A5 till A8 in savage and I don't feel like I missed something. Tho we still cleared all extreme primal modes until now and did clear A4 savage with 20% echo buff (to get everyone a gobwalker mount).
The best in slot gear is unnecessary unless you want to go for A8 savage (or A12 savage now), at least in my opinion. As long as you understand how to play your class you could still go for high dps even without the best in slot stuff.
At least the story and savage mode gear of A9 till A12 looks slightly different now. Even tho it is not colorable.
Ah yes, the rise effect. This specific video could play on loop about 6 times before i think "wait this has played more than once"
Man this was a fun fight. Fun but not frustrating mechanics, a good balance of magic and physical damage, AND I GET TO USE TANK LB3!

I absolutely love the music for this phase, so glad someone have uploaded it. This here is the only fight in that entire raid line I actually don't mind doing over and over.
Monk and Ninjas be breakdancing the shit out of this music while fighting Alexander.
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I can't help but imagine a goblin rock band playing this song while set up on the balcony/face of the main Alexander.
Ok that sounds cool and goofy at the same time.
I like how they made a nod to the Final Fantasy 9 design and added the wings. While the actual wings were much more massive in comparison to Alexander himself in 9, this isn't 9. This is Final Fantasy 14 and while this Alexander may not be able to effortlessly obliterate Bahamut like in 9, I still think it's awesome.
I think the last cutscene after this fight states that he probably could have oneshot Bahamut if he went back to the calamity (though he might have meant sealing Bahamut in time and space).

And while from a story point of view it could be reasonable, from a gameplay perspective I find that just absurd.
@SilverSupernova It mentioned that Alexander could have punted Dalamud back into space before Bahamut ever had a chance to break out. In a straight fight it would come down to if Bahamut ignores time stop or not.

Generally, until official lyrics are posted....most attempts are guess work but this one was the closest anyone has made to translating the lyrics.......also, something else the user posted....

Naught wrong with that. It's a habit I picked up years and years ago, I didn't have any money really so I could only play my games on this crappy laptop that ran everything like a hot turd. Fairly frequently when I pressed a button it wouldn't even register it is was so laggy so I got into the habit of spamming it to make sure and it's never really gone. And in FFXIV it doesn't matter cause it just queues up anyway :D The spam will continue
I thought button spamming was normal...
Button spamming is a good habit. If you get casts interrupted, you'll start casting faster than reacting to getting interrupted and then start a cast.

Tank lb2 isn't enough to survive divine judgment even in normal mode. It still kills non tanks.
