    A shame that Teshik had to suffer so much, seems like he is basically what would have happened if Pellaeon was a harsh victim of the Empire's abuse and tyranny instead of quietly serving under the radar. Would have loved to have seen Teshik tag team with Thrawn, two outcasts serving as the Empire's best commanders.

      Sort of reminds me of Terrinald Screed. He had so much potential of being a GA, but never got the chance because of his decline in career. It is a shame he got gunned down by Warlord Zsinj.

      Though you have to remember, Screed was an imperial army officer, not an imperial navy officer. So in that regard, it would be impossible for him to be a "grand admiral". Same with Veers.

      @@marrqi7wini54 That's not what I saw or read. He was an Imperial naval officer but died a disgraced warlord. I saw it on Star Wars Reading Club.

    Probably my favorite GA. He was executed while ironicaly, he was probably the GA involved in the least evil activities. On the other hand Grant was given immunity but he had something to bargain whereas Teshik probably allowed a few ISDs to leave with Pellaeon while he was making his stand. Also, the "pirates" were privateers (ex-Imperials from frigate Far Orbit) working for the Rebels. Rebel privateers took a big part in the Rebellion's strategy even if they were slowly discarded by the NR. We still met some in Dark Tide: Onslaught.

    For a non-Force user, he somehow had a very accurate vision of the past and what comes next in galactic history. Wonder if you can make a topic out of Force-like visions given to such people and beings, Corey?

      Are you suggesting this is a "longer" video? My goodness things have changed. I don't mean with this channel but just with what people watch. To me, THIS is a short, and the actual shorts barely qualify as teasers. To me TH-cam shorts and other similar short video services are only good for a quick laugh and nothing else.

    Just knowing what you talk about in this video, I strongly have to disagree with his execution by the rebels. This man genuinely sounds like a career officer who was rather honorable and even a relatively decent human being.
    While it IS true that he fought hard to prop up the Empire, which was, at least under Palpatine, unquestionably evil, a lot of other Imperial officers, many of whom took part in a number of atrocities were not put to death by the Rebels/New Republic.
    Furthermore, I think almost all Imperials, if they had seen that vision, would have mocked the rebels and laughed. But the way you describe it, he was genuinely warning them that there was more conflict to come.
    Personally, I think he deserved better. He reminds me a lot of Gilad Pellaeon. The loyal career officer who just couldn't cross the line of open treason and wound up on the wrong side of the war. It's easy for us to say "oh he should have just defected and become a rebel" But when you look at the context of the Galactic Civil War, the rebels were traitors against what was, technically, the legitimate government. For an Imperial Officer, defection is a life sentence, there was never any going back unless the rebels won. And it would be easy to see joining the Rebellion as a long painful means of suicide.
    Anyway, great video Corey! Keep up the great work! I much prefer videos like these to the shorts.

    I remember the excerpt from Teshik from the Essential Guide to Warfare - quite an interesting and well-written quote imo. Was it actually his fault in regard to that advisor getting captured by pirates? Or was it just an unpreventable situation he had nothing to do with?

    • @DarkVaati13
      @DarkVaati13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The capture happened within his region. An important advisor was captured by pirates in an area that was supposed to be the best defended place in the galaxy. That situation made Teshik look real bad.

    • @brambo3011
      @brambo3011 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DarkVaati13 Ok right but it may not have actually been his fault directly, it may have been an officer more local to the incident itself who was responsible for failing to safeguard the Advisor.

      I personally have a headcanon that Teshik's trial was not sanctioned by Alliance High Command but instead executed by rogue officers who captured Teshik and sought to implement justice after the death of Palpatine and Vader. It's not in-character for Mothma to allow this and Truce at Bakura shows everyone was busy enough with other affairs to let the trial slip under the radar until it was too late.

    • @Ranyick
      @Ranyick 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@christopherwilliams7845 not in-character for mon mothma? A lot of people seem to forget that she turned her back on leaia the moment people knew that she was vader daughter

    • @christopherwilliams7845
      @christopherwilliams7845 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@Ranyick That was the Canon version of Mon Mothma who was flanderized into becoming an idiot pacifist and a shitty Chamberlain expy. In Legends, Mon Mothma was still supportive of Leia after it was revealed that she was Vader's daughter and often served as her confidant when Leia had struggles with her parentage.

    Hate to follow up on my criticism of the star forge one... This one doesn't seem too bad as a shorter video... I like it... I guess it's the content there's some content that you can delve into further easily that is really popular, and I think that may be the content that you want to make the longer videos on... But the interesting little snippets of information like this guy or something...yeah it's good for shorter videos... So just a bit of an addendum on what I talked with you about on the other video
