The twin cat exhaust is a thing of beauty, really hope it works out as expected 👍. If it doesn't prove to be as efficient as you hoped, you can mount it in a frame and sell it as a modern art piece so a win/win in any case 😄.
I absolutely love oem+ builds … just wish I can find afford the parts! I keep hoping one day Honda just opens the floodgates bring back discontinued and JDM parts. I love you guys always appreciate the videos. Big thanks to LHT who help me with my B16 JRSC EBP EM1 was fun while it lasted now going K
The execution on the dual cat is a fabrication masterpiece! Great work as usual 👍 Btw, picked up a new LHT shifter foam surround, and it was a perfect fit.
Multiple cats might not heat up enough to be effective. Especially because the turbo cools the exhaust too. I appreciate driving behind clean cars too! Turbo sounds great! Me wants!
I bought a dual cat system like that for my RX-7. I like cutting down on smell and noise where possible. I've always been curious about just big OE cats from a full-sized truck or something like that as being viable. It feels like OEs just operate on a different level from the aftermarket as far as cat quality (and I assume components) are concerned.
Yes, as much as we like to improve on oem things, they often use much higher quality parts in some circumstances. The C6 Corvette cats are actually amazing, I’ve made lots of power on a single cat on a Honda.
I sincerely hope you produce this as a kit. Or at the very least be willing to sell all the components and replicate the setup if I were to bring my otherwise stock s2000 to you to do the work.
John, why not locate the exhaust valve before the muffler but after the Y, then it wouldnt be visible at all?? Also very interesting idea with the double cat! Id be interested to see how it works out, Id love to see how the power compares to just a straight pipe and vs. a single 3 inch Gsport cat in a single pipe
I almost bypassed this video due to the title not grabbing my attention, but I'm happy that I didn't. If the title were something like "OEM+ Turbo S2000 Build", that would have certainly drew me in immediately.
I loved every bit of this one! Thinking of making a solid NA build for mine. Say John, I need a front lip like that one you guys have for my 04 Suzuka Blue, should I just buy it from the dealer? Or is there any place I could buy it from besides dealer?
The AP2 lips have been discontinued for a long time. The only way to find one is used, and then re finish it. I have a couple of CR lips left which we’ll advise soon.
@@LHTPerformance Ah ok I see, well I suppose I’ll have to consider that or purchase a CR at some point. Thanks John I appreciate the feedback as always!
@@LHTPerformance I found the "nemesis" shop / build to this car. LS3 ND MIATA (done professionally and well...but nothing oem left under the skin) th-cam.com/video/DpO1zHktGqk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HREW0WR8IUhrrRWY
Why change the suspension ? It has an amazing adjustable suspension stock. No ? And exhausts. Never understood why People waste money on that. S2k cones with a full stainless system end to end. I guess in this case there is some good lht reason to have that valve. Ahh. I See. To lower the drone. Make it pleasant. Agreed. Clever.
The suspension is non adjustable. Coil overs allows to lower to the desired height , choose spring rates and tune to the environment. The stock exhaust limits power, plus it’s very heavy. Our titanium exhaust sheds about 40lbs and has the built mild to wild sound the immediate via the throttle. I thought this was fairly clear 🤔
No no no the math is all wrong on dual pipes. Pi(R)² is the formula to calculate area of a round shape. Not accounting for wall thickness to keep this simpler for comments...2.5" has a gross area of 7.85sq inches. 3" is 9.42sq in. Dual 2.5" gives you a combined gross area of 15.7" inches which is greater then a single 4" tube. Obviously you have enough capacity there with the twin 2.5 but you could of gone smaller...even twin 2" and still have more area then a single 3" however you run the risk of the transitions becoming difficult to do smoothly in a compact space.
Then when you factor in wall thickness thats when the numbers show the area loss. So say a 16ga 4" has an actual area 12.15sq in...but twin 16ga 2" has an area 11.74sq in for instance
@@garage79r Yes, dual 2” cats I’m sure would be effective enough, not to mention the asker to fit the space available. Sometimes you use what on hand. I will do plenty of testing with this because I do want to run a catalytic converter, I want to find out first hand how it affects power and how clean it is. I may of may not share the results, depends how interested people are. Right now I’m Chasing another slight issue, I tend to be a little picky with certain things and need them to be right. Holy shit....that exhaust belongs in the National Museum of Modern Art!! ❤️❤️❤️
Soichiro-san and Shigeru-san would be proud. 😍
I really wish there was a LHT shop in Australia for my s2k😅
Living the stock air box idea. I hope it works because I want that in my S :)
Beautiful work John and George.
I want the same build to my S2K! OEM plus is perfect!!
The S2k mad scientist!!! The best around!! Can’t wait to ship you my car and let you tear into it!!
I'm happy to watch the adds if it helps you guys to keep building things
Exhaust is art.
You r correct the mufflers look better black.
Yea. I like the oem look.
I appreciate how much thought and effort you invest in the details. Always tasteful and beautiful results.
Thanks Jason !
Absolutely love the work you're doing with the cats! You've now got me rethinking my exhaust on my j35.
Cool idea with the 2 cats. Curious to see if it makes a big difference.
Watching the progress on this closely. Very interested in this build. Love the sleeper OEM+ stuff. Great video as always.

Placing the the valve the end of the muffler utilizes the muffler itself. Like the Z06 design.
@@LHTPerformance do you mean it uses it like a big hemholtz resonator??

What kind of gas mileage does the S2000 turbo kit get while cruising on the highway?
If tuned correctly, gas mileage is unchanged. Fuel Is dependent on load, it takes X amount of HP to maintain 70mph. Turbo or not.
Would it be kosher to come by and check the place out one day? If so, when would be best?
Yea. Hit me up on IG

The steering wheel recover quality is very bad. Those joins are thick and ugly. I’d take a worn steering over a bad re-wrap..
